The Editor's Choice badge means an editor thought your piece was excellent, but all pieces submitted to the website are considered for publication in the magazine. 
 
In addition, we will often hold pieces in order to publish them as part of a feature, or in the issue they most relate to, meaning it could be several months before your piece is put in the magazine.

Dead Mod, I am working with my friends on a collaborative writing piece in the forums. Iwe have been working extremely hard, and myself, being on an iPad, typed a long reply with part of the story. I hit Post Reply, and then it said the usual message with "Thanks for Posting, blah blah blah.." Now my post is not showing up. I worked extremely hard on this piece. Is it not showing up because it is still being proofread or whatever? My friend said it may have gotten "inked," lost in teen ink post forever. Is there anything you can do? Can you explain this to me?

Kikixkupkake: There is a filter set up for forum posts. If a post contains problematic words (as an example, one of the milder words:cr.ap) the post is 'caught' in the filters and will not show up. The moderator reads through these posts and decides whether or not they should go up on the site. Sometimes this takes days, sometimes months. To get around this, some people use periods in more necessary words as I did above (although my example wasn't a necessary word) but if you are swearing, it's best to keep it off the forums.

Thanks, I have heard about the no cussing rule (and dislike cussing anyways), but the character of the story did say cr.ap. I'm a little confused because I did separate it ): oh well

Hey Mod,
I was wondering why the TeenInk Chat works at my school, but it doesn't at home, both times I use Google Chrome, but one at home i'm signed in and at school i'm not....both the same OS, would it be a Pop-Up Blocker?

I'm new around here and was wondering how long is usually takes for pending work to be read and uploaded onto the website. I've been waiting for a little under a week and just wanted to know how much longer it would be.

EmClaire: First of all, welcome to the club! :P
 
Now, to come to your question, if you posted something in the poetry section, that will take about a month, for TI receives HUGE entries daily. Reviewing all these can take time, and so there is nothing to do but wait.
If you posted something in Fiction/Non-Fiction section, it might, at the most, take a week and a half. Or a bit more. Most pieces are uploaded in 4 to 5 days, so you need not worry.

I'm afraid I don't know for your case specifically, but typically if a post gets caught it is because of language, or links. In the future I would suggest saving all works to your computer before sending them to prevent loss.

I'm afraid I have no idea as I don't know your computer set up, so I don't know what to suggest. Try disabling the pop up blocker and see if it works?

Dynamo is correct, poetry takes longer than any other section, and on average wait times go from a week to a month. We like to read everything for potential for the magazine, so it takes longer to approve pieces.

Hello Moderator,
I am having an issuing viewing comments on my works. It tells me that I have a certian number of comments on my peices be it poerty or my art but when I try to look at the comments I am unable to do so. Is there something I'm missing or is this a technical problem?

I think that’s a great idea about the cooking section, would it be recipes and stuff? Or just tips? I’d love that! How could you check to make sure they didn’t just use a recipe they found on the internet?  Well anyway, I think it could become a popular section.
I’ve noticed a few buggy things about TeenInk over the time I’ve been here.  When I’m typing a comment and if I have a different subject to discuss I’ll hit my enter key to separate the text, but when I post it it’s just one big paragraph. I don’t know if it’s possible for that to be changed, but I just thought I’d ask.
Also with comments on work, it hasn’t happened in a while for me, but sometimes when I would post a long comment it would repeat itself. Did you guys fix that?
Lately I’ve been getting back on and contributing more, and I hate to say this but it’s very annoying when I type a comment up and submit it, and only a “.” (period) is where my username is supposed to be. Over time I’ve come to notice when exactly it’ll happen if I comment. I’ll be clicking on articles, reading them, commenting, whatever it is I’m doing at that time and then I’ll notice in the banner at the top of the page, all the way to the right, where it says “Logged in as…” There’ll be nothing there when usually my user name there. Then I have to log out and log back in to post the comment, which can take a while because I have dial-up. (Maybe that’s the reason?) Then in a couple of minutes it happens again, and again, and so on.
But sometimes I don’t catch it and I’ll have to post under it saying that it was my comment. I submitted a report recently but I’d like to know if this is just happening to me or anybody else as well.
So just minor things really, I love this site overall though! Many of my friends write frequently and I told them about TI, and to make an account. It’s awesome to be able to come here and read other teen’s work, get feedback on your own, and really just improve your skills. Thanks for everything you guys do, it’s an awesome site, I appreciate it!

Oop! There it goes doing that again! I just had to log out and back in.
I also remembered another thing, on my "My Work" page, at the top it says:
"Your 28 articles have received 3 comments. Be sure to update your profile at....."
I know I have more than 3 comments haha, so whats up with that?

Do you have cookies enabled in your browser? It sounds to me like your session is timing you out while you work to compose a post. 
 
The comments issue is a known problem and is being addressed by our programming department.

A_Writer_: There is a "See My stuff" button the top right hand corner of your window (the computer one :P--sorry, random pun :P). Once you click this, a bar will appear in a new window. In this bar the option will come up "Forums". Once you click this, it will lead you to all the threads you posted and all the replies you've ever made. You can delete them from there.
