"Run" Jay said simply, "run as fast as you can through the jungle, I'll follow"
She looked at him surprisedly but followed his intructions. She fled into the jungle and dodged between trees.
He looked around for a weapon, but could find one, until he realized he still had his dagger. He started to follow Clara, running fast
She glanced behind her but kept running until she came to a clearing. There was a pond and she rested against a palm tree.
"Why are we running?"
"Well, I assumed you don't want the captain after ya, or any of the others. Once they see you have gotten away, they will hunt you down and of course, this is were they will look. So I'm trying to save your life." Jay started walking towards the pond and dipped in his hands, then run the water through his hair
"That explosion destroyed TWO WHOLE SHIPS. If there is any possibilities that the captain is on the island, they will be very small.
"If were here" he told her, "what makes you think others aren't"
"Fine, but we can't keep running. It'll be night soon! We need food and shelter, but we've got water so that's checked off." She crossed her arms and looked around. "Any ideas?"
"I'll go around and set traps for small game, but tomorrow, were on the move, we aren't far from the beach"
"Fine, just fine." She gathered leaves together and began to spread them on the ground as two mats under a low lying tree.
Jay wandered out in the forest and started to make traps for small game like mice and snakes, then made a spear with a stick and his dagger
Clara took a large leaf and wove it into a bucket. She had sharpened a twig and sewed it tight with plant fibers.
Jay walked back to there small camp and saw Clara making the bucket. "Where'd you learn that" he asked her
"Book," she said, not looking up at him. She finished it and when it held the water securely she put it down carefully.
"Interesting". He told her, walking over to examine it
