Rachel quickly ducked her head staring at the ground,
"Um you know...the testing they do if your different." Rachel said. She thought everyone knew about the testing that happened to people with genetic abnormalities.
"But I've answered your questions, you have to answer mine now." Rachel said half whinig,
"Who are you? What's it like out there?" she asked in a low vpice, eager. She looked back up at him her eyes though red and watering glowing with excitement adn curiousty.
"I would kill you?" David muttered in English to himself, he sounded confused,
"Just bring supplies and you won't hurt." David said in German. "I swear on my honor." he added. He let go of her and stepped back.
Tamas watched her for a second, then said, "Who am I? Do you know that town a couple miles from here? That was where I was living in hiding since the REGB took over. I really wouldn't know what it's like, I was pretty removed from everything. I know people go missing all the time though, and the occasional body is found." Tamas was sticking as much as he could to the truth without going into detail. Detail could be hard to remember.
((Dang it, forgot Aruna!))
Aruna stepped foward then spun around to look at the man. He didn't stand out much but while she didn't speak english, but could reconize it. His German was faulting too. "You are American." She said it as a fact than spat out, "So it's not just the REGB that's like this? I thought that the Americans would help us. Obviously I was wrong. I'll go get your things Mr High and Mighty." Aruna spun on her heel and walked as fast as she could away from him.
"What's your name?" She asked. Rache's vision was swimming right now because of the irratation so she coudln't make out any of the defining tattoos on the guy,
"Why are you here?" she added. She reached out and grabbed his arm, bringing it close to her face to try and find his number. She wasn't trying to be rude, Rachel was just curios,
"I'm Rachel." she added in case she hadn't.
David felt bad for what he'd done. But he needed to survive. He needed to get home. Ms. Engel didn't seem to like the REGB, maybe he could make her an ally despite what he'd just done.
"Sorry." he caled out after her. Then he turned and ran back to prepare for her arrival.
Tamas jumped when the girl grabbed her arm, but let her pull it towards her. The American officails had tatooed a number on, hoping that no one else had it, 2756433. They also put the Star of David on his neck. They weren't pernament tatoos but wouldn't fade for over a couple years. "Nice to meet you Rachel, though I'd have prefered it to be somewhere other than here. I'm Tamas. Here cause I'm Jewish."
Aruna ignored him and continued away thoughts running through her head, none of which she would dare say aloud. She got into town and by now she was jogging. Aruna didn't want to be caught out in the dark. The eight o clock curfue was proably drawing near.
Aruna got to her house and tore inside. Once in the kitchen she grabbed a couple of bottled waters and some food that wouldn't spoil. She grabbed an old blanket too and put it all in a box. She took two flashlights off her shelf and put one in her pocket, figuring he'd proably steal her flashlight too.
It was eight o clock now so she drew the curtains and locked the door. She went out of a window in back and snuck out of town, barley manageing to be arrested. Aruna ran down the path her flashlight like a beacon. Once at the ghetto entrance she looked around, and called out, "If this is a prank, someone is in trouble."
David made sure no one else was there before jumping dowjn from his hiding place and walking over,
"Thank you." he siad simply taking the things and shoving them into his rucksack. "Sorry." he added, "And by the way, America is trying to help...I'm just stuck here." he added, depfending his country from her ebfore comment.
Rachel dropped his arm and nodded,
"Most here are I think." she stated. She rubbed her eyes again though she kenw she shouldn;t. They just itched and burned so badly and she didn't know how to make it go away.
Guards came in,
"Everyone lie down now and go to sleep, anyone who's up will be shot!" the yelled. Quickly people amde their ways to their bunks. The two other people sharing Rachel and Tamas's bunk came up, crowding it. Rachel lay down next to Tamas and pulled his sleeve so he would lay down next to her. She liked the stranger, he was big, warm, seemed nice enough.
Aruna turned to go back but stoped with her back to him as he spoke. She sighed, "I hate the way people think they can walk over others simply because they are the ones with the guns. There are other ways to get someone to help you. If you had asked me and told me the situation, I wouldn't have brought it tonight, but I would have tomorow." Aruna turned back to the man glaring. "You relise because of you I could be killed on my way back. The curfue is 8 and it has to be past that now. If I get caught best I could hope for would be the ghettos, and they aren't anything to wish for." Aruna let her owrds sink in then turned back to the road, "Goodnight."
Tamas took her wrists and pulled them away from her eyes, rubbing them couldn't be good. He didn't have any medicine on him, and if he did he would have to save it for himself anyway. "Don't rub, the more you blink the better they'll be." The gaurds came in and Rachel pulled him over so that he was lying next to her in the crowded bunk. Tamas lay there internally steaming, he hated being told what to do but he wouldn't do anything. Not yet.
"I'm sorry..." he repeated. "You can stay here tonight and get back tomorrow. I have a camp. I swear I won't hurt you." he offered, slinging his rucksack on his back as he talked to Ms. Engel's back. David wans't a bad kid, he honestly had thought what he'd done was the only way to do things. You couldn't trust someone wouldn't just run off and tell, not in Germany, not now.
The barracks were cold at night, despite all the bodies corwded in there heat wasn't easy to come by. rachel huddled closer to Tamas for warmth, closing her eyes adn resting her head on her arm, trying to keep her face out of the hay.
"You better sleep...we only get three patrols to sleep then we have to wake up again." she siad in whispered advise to the enwcomer. A patrol lasted an hour, usaully they were sent to bed about 8 or 9 O-clock and awoken again at 11-midnight.
Aruna paused. Going back would requir a lot of stelth that she didn't have, and would propably end up caught. However she'd be caught anyway if someone tryed her house, and there were no garrentees this man wouldn't kill her in her sleep anyway. With a sigh she turned back to him, "Thank you. It's better than taking my chances with sneaking. I'll take my chances that you won't kill me in my sleep." Aruna walked up to him and handed him a flashlight, taking her other one out. "Where are we going?"
Tamas put an arm around her, hoping to keep Rachel at least a little bit warmer. Patrols hun..Tamas had heard of them but never really thought about them. Straining his mind, in Germany a patrol ussually lasted an hour. Only three hours... "Thank you. You better sleep too." Tamas closed his eyes and steadyed his breathing, making it seem like he was alseep.
Rachel fell asleep quickly as she'd trained herself to do. She curled up tightly against Tamas for warmth and to feel safe. Rachel didn't like being alone ever, she ahted it when she got put in solitary becuase of her expieremntation.
David led Ms. Engel to his campsite. He dropped his rucksack on the ground, pulling the blankets out he spread them out on the ground and satrted to check the food that'd been brought out,
"I'm David." he said as he searched through his pack. She could already see his last name, sewn onto his uniform above teh right pocket.
Tamas cat napped, knowing everytime someone walked by them or on a close isle. The girl was curled up into him and he held her, slightly protective. He wasn't sure he wanted a friend, but... Tamas shook the thought from his head and went back to dozing.
Aruna sat gingerly on one of the blankets and watched him unpack. Her knees were curled to her chest to try and stay warmer, the air had a bite to it. "I"m Aruna Engel." She watched him pull the food out and relisedshe hadn't had food since lunch. Oh well she could go until morning. If she was still alive by morning assuming.
David opened up a can of food and took his multitool out. He started to eat, he ate half the can and then held it out to Aruna.
"Eat, you're my guest tonight, Ms. Engel." he said slowly. He'd learned German from his grandfather, who had immigrated from Germany after WWI. His family on his mother side was part German part Jewish. On his father side he was a mix of a lot of things.
David opened another can of veggies this time. He started to pick the green beans out with hsi fingers, careful to avoid cutting his hand on the side of the can.
((Wanna skip to morning since Rachel is sleeping and Tamas is half sleeping.))
((For both Tamas/Rachel and David/Aruna? Or just Tamas and Rachel?))
Aruna shook her head. "If your as bad off as you say you are, you should eat all of it. I can always eat in the morning." His German was a bit slow, so she talked slower herself, enough that it was easier to understand without talking to him like a child. For something to say she asked, "How did you end up in Germany anyway? Or I guess I should ask stranded in Germany?"
((Hmmm, what about we play David and Aruna out a bit more and then skip to morning...so both people sets are on the same timeline?))
David shrugged and finished off both cans of food. He then carefully wiped the cans out and put then back in his bag in a different pouch, he may be abel to use them later.
David wasn't sure he was even allowed to tell Aruna why he was here. He thought back on the rules of engagement, code of conduct, and geneva convention on what he should do.
"Um..." he started off, "Got stranded on a mission." he siad not going into details. He finished cleaning up after his meal and lay down on one of the blanket, making sure his m-16 was in easy reach. He put his pistol netx to his m-16. David would rather not accidently set his gun off in his sleep.
((Okay :) ))
Aruna layed down on a blanket, as far from him as she could get, a girl couldn't be too safe. "You got stranded on a mission...?" It didn't sound like he had been doing anything wrong, but how could Aruna trust him? She sighed, assuming she wouldn't get anymore details, 'a German couldn't be trusted'. Or mabye it was just anyone. Oh well, it'd be better not to know if she knew she would have the information and if someong questioned her she couldn't honestly say she didn't know. He put both his pistol and m-16 next to him as he lay down. "What are you doing?"
David looked at her,
"Going to sleep. I don't want to shoot myself when I'm alseep." he stated like it was obvious. He rolled himself loosely in the banket he was laying on and got ready to go to sleep. He wasn't going to sleep heavily, he wante dto be alert enough to know if someone was sneakng up or somethng like that.
((I have an idea for what could happen late ron in this RP
Tamas has been doing recon in the concentration camp when suddenly his base makes contact with him somehow and tells him to pull out they need him on a different mission.
Tamas doesn't at first feelc mfortable pulling out becuase the guards seem to be suspicious of him, but he eventually does leave and leaves Rachel behind becuase he doens't wnat to mix her up in things.
Anyway Tamas was pulled out becuase Ms Engel adn David have made contact with the underground trying to get him out and then all contact was suddenly dropped ebcuase there was a mole discovered in the underground ring. Tamas is sent on a mission to find Ms. Engala nd especailly David and get David out of there before any atatcks that could risk him are started.
And I'm nots ure what would happen to Rachel during this, maybe she'd questioned becuase the agurds wnat to know where Tamas went...
So what do you think? You don't have to like it.))
Aruna nodded. She wasn't planing on sleeping, she wanted to know if she was about to be shot. "Okay." She turned onto her back and looked up at the sky. It was cloudy but they were high clouds, not the right type for rain nor snow. Perks of being a genral science teacher, you know if it's going to rain on you. How very useful. Not caring for her own sarcasm she turned so she was facing the man and closed her eyes. Hopefully she'd seem asleep but who knows.
((Hmm, that could be interesting but both Rachel and Tamas could get very boring to play during a lot of that time. What if Tamas is escaping and Rachel finds him. She begs to go with him and he has no choice but to take her or be caught. Then they would have someone to talk to and keep it exciting. How about that?))
((Hmmm..could work too. I don't mind either way, I can play Rachel on her own. And Tamas wouldn't be on his own for long, he'd get joined up with David adn Ms. Engel soon enough.
Anyway it's up to you.
Wanna skip to morning?))
