Hearing the drunken humans stumble around in his territory, Gryff's lips reared back into a silent growl as he silently approached the makeshift camp they were attempting to create. His eyes glinting as he focused closely on the camp as he grew closer to the edge of their encampment. He did not like the way they were vandalizing his boundaries with their heavy drinking and violent roaming. Seeing the human slave scuffling around attempting to find wood, Gryff felt a twinge of sympathy for him. Hiding in the brush, Gryff was debating on whether or not to wait until nightfall to scare the humans out. Deciding that he need to wait, Gryff laid down in a heavily forested and scented area to keep himself hidden due to his metallic smell and his blood red scales. And now I wait... He thought to himself with firm conviction.
Asah found small scraps of woods, just barely enough to make a fire. Proping them up together, he took some pine needles and struck the match. Gentaly he blew the flame into fire, and then stepped back to get a rabbit the men had caught when they weren't drunk. The men didn't stop him, and Asah skinned and started to roast the rabbit. The men sat around the fire on the ground. Asah kept his head down, there was nothing for him to say, esspescaily as the beer began to wear off the men: they got cranky when hungover. When the rabbit was done, it was approaching darkness. Asah stood and spilt the rabbit up handing out the peices and kept nothing for himself. Once that was done, Asah stepped back behind the men, out of their ring around the fire. It was growing cold, but he was not allowed near the fire.
How inhumane this drunkards are, leaving the slave that was forced to do your work for you due to your drunkeness. Gryff constantly found himself curiously looking at the slave. As the night grew darker, Gryff decided to do something. He sidled closer and closer to the back side of the camp where the human slave was resting. Shaking his head the whole time as he was doing this, he finally stopped at the edge of the trees. Gryff breathed slowly and silently onto the slave, hoping the heat would keep him warm throughout the night and also put him to sleep so Gryff could walk in and scare them.
(( Yeah of course, is she alright? ))
((Yea, sorry about that, proably shouldn't have been posting that much. I'll wait up for her :) ))
((Dragon, I'm friends with Star offline, she's okay, just bombarded with homework.))
(( Thanks Honor and everyone! I appreciate everyone for pausing. I'm expecting next week to be hectic as well, teachers are trying to cram everything in before Christmas break! :/))
Mystique kept walking for a few moments, as she hadn't heard anything for a bit. She stopped suddenly in her tracks, she felt as if there was someone near by. As she couldn't be quite sure, she stayed in her spot. She silently raised her wings, preparing to take flight. As she learned from watching other dragons, you could never to be too sure if someone was harmless, or dangerous. She was ready for take off at any moment, but she waited to see if whatever was around her made a noise.
Asah did not feel himself stop shivering until he was nice and warm. He looked about himself, almost as if someone had started a fire behind him. Asah settled down after a little while, and enjoyed the warm night, or so he thought. after awhile, he got tired, and his eyes started to close on him. Looking up at the men around who were all passed out, Asah decided a short nap wouldn't hurt. He layed down and pratically passed out from exhaustion.
((Sorry fr disappearing kast night/evening...my comp. is going nutty.))
Elliot stayed perfectly still for a few moments. She then care moved into a crouched position like shewas about to runand tensed watching the dragon. The dragon seemed curious maybe she could play off that.
Elliot took her bag and knife sheath off and carefully placed them on the ground, she tucked her knife into the waist of her pants and et her tunic fall over it to hide it.
Once she was done with these preperation she stood up and walked forward slowly, watching the dragon closely.
Mystique had begun to relax. She could no longer detect any noises until suddenly, she heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps. Footsteps terrified her, because you could never be entirely sure if they were dangerous or unthreatening. On the day her mother died, the one thing she remembered was the sounds of footsteps. Luckily, her mother had hid her. If she hadn't done that, she wouldn't be here today. Mystique snorted loudly and began retreating. She kept her eyes on the spot where she had heard the footsteps coming from.
Elliot slowly stood up, her knife was hidden so she looked rather pathetic and small now. She walked out into the open and stared curiously at the dragon, she'd purposely made ehr face blank looking like a little child or soemone who didn't have all there marbles up there,
"It's a dragon..." she muttered, tipping her head to the side and takng a step forward.
Finally, he's asleep... Gryff maintained the heat on the human slave so that the cold would not wake him up early when he decided to scare everyone. After an hour of letting the slave sleep peacefully, Gryff stopped breathing on him and walked into the camp a little before sunrise. He began by ruffling through all of the humans belongings: their packs, clothing, and other useless items. Gryff packed their belongings into a huge pile in the middle of the camp, saving their alchohol for last. As he was throwing their clothes into the pile, Gryff looked over at the slave and his scant clothes. The twinge of sympathy came back into his heart and Gryff grabbed a pack and some filled it with some clothes and laid it next to the slave... For Gryff had unknowingly made a plan to bring him with Gryff. Before he began to awaken the hungover humans and scare them, Gryff leaned down to the human slave and nudged him with his snout, his endless blue eyes looking at the human with a sense of peace...
(( Sorry for being gone so long, school stuff weighing me down. /: But I'm back! (: ))
((It's okay, we all get that sometimes :) ))
Asah slept soundly. When he felt something nudge his side Asah jumped and scrambled to his feet, afraid of being beaten for falling asleep. Asah's eyes widened and he backed up against a tree watching the dragon. He didn't cry for help or plea or say anything at all. Asah simply turned his head and waited for the dragon to kill him.
Mystique snorted loudly as the girl walked out into the open. She eyed the girl curiously, and watched as she tilted her head, as if she had never laid eyes on a dragon before. Instead of taking flight as she would do for other invaders, she stayed where she was, not taking her eyes off of her. The girl did not appear to be dangerous, but Mystique had learned, don't trust anyone. Mystique snorted again, but this time a puff of smoke escaped from her nostrils.
Elliot came forward enough so the dragon was in arms length. She looked the dragon up and down, looking for a chink in the armour, if she couldn't see one she'd have to go for teh soft spot under the jaw. The dragon was beautiful, t'd be a shame to kill it, but she had to or else she'd be stuck with her 'teacher' for another year.
Elliot saw a small chink in the dragons scales and she suddenly pulled her knife and dashed forward, pushing the blade into the chink.
Elliot came so she was easily in arms length of the dragon. She studied it like she was curious but in reality she was searching for a c.h.i.n.k in the armour. She hoped there'd be one easy to reach , if there wasn't Elliot would have to try and go for the underside of the jaw, a soft spot for dragons.
This dragon was actually a very beautiful creature, Elliot thought it'd be a s.h.a.m.e to k.i.l.l it. THen again if she didn't she'd have to stay with her 'teacher' for another year plus she'd bring s.h.a.m.e to her father if she chickened out of k.i.l.l.i.n.g a dragon.
Elliot noticed a c.h.i.n.k in the armour, in one swift movement she pulled her k.n.i.f.e out and darted forward aiming to stab the dragon where the c.h.i.n.k was.
((I don't mind pauseing, it gets busy around the holidays :) ))
(( Pausing would be a good idea. Have fun wherever you're going and have a happy holiday! :) ))
Mystique roared in fear as the girl lunged to stab her. She reared up on her two hind legs, but not in time before th knife dug in to the c.hink in her armor. This wasn't at all what she'd been expecting, not from someone who appeared so sweet and innocent. When Mystique was back on all fours, she looked at the knife in her side. Blood was gushing from the wound. She knew that if it didn't stop soon, she'd be dead in a short matter of time. In a state of panic, Mystique reared again and again in hopes of dislodging the knife. At one point, a single tear drop fell from her eye.
Elliot was knocked back, she watched the dragon buck, fight and seemingly cry. The young apprentice darted forward and again and yanked the knife out of the dragon and rose her arm to stab again. Elliot didn't really show emotion, no excitement that accompanied some poachers during a kill, no rage, no saddness, just a cold placid face.
"Sorry, gotta do this." she grunted, her voice flat and non apologetic.
