Aspen sighed and followed the others. He deeply despised killing, especially a creature of his domain. Perhaps he could tame this "beast," but he doubted that would get him anywhere with the people. They wanted the strongest, the most loyal to their people. He didn't need anything as he walked into the forest, feeling at peace there.
It was his home after all.
Camile watched with wide eyes as Mercin dashed off into the forest. She had thought they would work together, but maybe everyone else was taking it more seriously than she. Seeing that Aspen had just entered the forest as well, she tied her pouch to the belt of her tunic and dashed off into the forest. If there was a beast waiting near the entrance, it may catch them off guard. She wanted to make sure everyone at least got out of hear without getting hurt.
Reaglo balanced himself on Medrona's shoulder. She thought killing the beast would be very unmoral. She hated killing unless it served a use. Reaglo seconded the thought and flew ahead. Medrona took out some smelly, bloody meat. If anything this would lead some beast to her. She climbed the trees, leaving the meat below. She had rolled in some leaves to hide her scent. Reaglo perched higher up, waiting silently.
((Just to let you guys know, so that this stays fair, I'll control the beast, but you guys can take full control of everything else in the forest :) ))
Running swiftly and fluidly through the trees, Mecrin began to sing: 'come to me, king of the forest, come to me...' Birds and small animals began to take notice and approached her, but she paid them no notice. She only kept her eyes open for the beast, listening for strange noises.
ASpen trotted through the forest nimbly, ducking and dodging through the branches. He drew a long bow made from oak. He pulled slightly ahead of the others, easily navigating through his home.
Camile looked wildly from left to right, making sure no one was following her or that no one would attack. She felt herself becoming frightened, and she stopped herself dead in her tracks. The people don't want a scaredy-cat leader. They need someone who is brave, strong, and bold in the face of danger. Camile strode calmy through the forest, taking in the serene surroundings.
Thebus walked into the forest calmly, carrying little supplies with him. He was rather cocky, therefore not very worried about anything at the moment. He glanced behind him and saw Mira enter the forest. He stopped and waited for her to catch up, he could use someone to talk to.
Mira entered the forest, a small bag hung over her shoulder. She loved the forest, feeling comfortable in it ever since she was a child. She walked silently, glanced up into the trees every once in a while to see birds and other forest life. She noticed Thebus infront of her and raised an eyebrow at him as he stopped.
Mecrin started to feel a bit antsy. She felt bored just running, waiting for something to happen, she needed something to keep her mind attentive. Pulling out her sword, she began to strike down branches and bushes, her constant singing hitting a victorious note every time she was successful. Mecrin realized this would allow others to follow her more easily, but she assumed they would probably be able to do that anyway. She didn't want to hide.
Medrona whittled a stick into a strange likeness of Reaglo. Other creatures had steered clear of the meat when Medrona made rustling noises. She took out some bread, jerky, and a flask of water. She tried to keep her things fairly smell less. She the took a book and began to read. She heard someone hacking nearby. Mecrin probably. The birds began going sweeter songs.
The beast held still deep within the forest. It was beyond the reach of song or the power of the gods for to moment, but he knew they were coming, the scent was strong. A low growl was made deep within his throat and his claws extended out of his paws. The beast was ready.
As Camile walked further into the forest, she noticed fallen down branches appearing in her path. Knewing that this wouldn't happen naturally, she walked a bit faster. Perhaps there was someone or something up ahead. She couldn't be too sure. Suddenly, she caught sight of Mecrin. Debating whether or not to call out to her, she decided it may be a good idea to have some company in the meantime. "Mecrin?" Camile called out timidly.
Mecrin leaped over a log, landing gently on the ground and turning around to see who had called her. She started humming a slow, calm tune, hoping to prevent a possible attack. "What do you want?" She called out to her fellow competitor.
Camile caught up to Mecrin and smiled brightly. "It's me, Camile. I thought we could travel together in the mean time. It'll be easier to fight off any monstrous beast if there was more of us." she suggested lightly, hoping she wouldn't take it as a threat.
