((im sorry for all the mistakes on my post. i've been using my iPod for this lately))
Looks up startled at Mith. No one had ever approached her like this before. He was extremely short, but with a happy face, with just a hint of relief. Corin stands awkwardly and shakes hands with him. "Hi," she said warily, "I'm Corin." (Naur): Well go on (me) Don't rush me, I don't like elves. Naur) He's only half though (Me): Which is fine by me Corin looks around the clearing, she notices the other falcons, but feels less awkward now the Mith has spoken to her. Corin brushes Naur's feathers and he lets out another rumble. (Naur) Elflings aren't THAT bad.... (Corin) I don't want to talk about it, why am I here? It's the place they dishonored my mother Corin's thoughts are backed by icy and fiery emotions. Naur shuffles his feathers at the power eminating from her. (Naur) I see you have a temper. This makes you powerful in some ways, and weak in others. you have to use your anger against your enemies, not your friends. Corin crosses her arms. (Corin) I have no friends, unless I can count you as a friend rocknose Naur just chuckles as if the insult was a private joke that only he understood.
((no problem, i roleplay with my friend like this, also everyone roleplaying can check out my rp. Kinda like PinkyPromise's but different))
(( Sorry guys! Fell behind a bit I see. :/ I'm caught up now, my apologies!! Also for Sterling's markings, he has a silver spiral that wraps around this left ankle.))
Sterling was in the forest talking with one of the squirrels. It was like any othe day to him, he was completely absorbed in nature and unaware of anything that was going on around him. As he chattered with a large brown squirrel with a scrawny tail, the clouds broke and rain began to fall. It fell in large, fat droplets that splashed and sprung to the ground whenever they hit his body. "Drat! Darn you rain!" Sterling scoffed, standing under a tree in a failed attempt to keep himself dry. He became saddened when he saw that his squirrel family had run for cover in their underground tunnels. "Great! Now how am I going to get home?" Sterling wailed to no one in paticular.
Suddenly, he heard a voice that was seemed as if it was coming from behind him. But he didn't hear like he heard all other things, he heard it in his mind. You're not going home. You're coming with me young one. Hurry now, we're going to be late.
The voice was definitely a female, someone who possessed an aura of wisdom about her.
When Sterling turned around to see if he was able to detect the source of the voice, he saw a falcon standing beside him. As soon as he laid eyes on her, he gasped and squealed. "Does that mean we get to fly?!" He ran over to her and stroked her downy feathers ever so gently.
Nosta smiled with satisfaction and bobbed her head in response. Get on my back boy. Be gentle. Sit just behind my crest, you'll be safest that way. Hang on tight, you'll have to balance but I shall give you a smooth ride.
Sterling did as he was told, and climbed aboard Nosta, sitting just where he had been instructed to. He shifted his weight around until he felt comfortable that he wouldn't shift during flight. Looking down, he placed his hands upon Nosta's crest. Without hesitation, Nosta launched herself into the air. For a moment, they were vertical; parallel to all the trees. Sterling grinned but screamed at the same time. He was enthralled, but terrified. "Where are we gooooiinggg?!" he shouted over the momentary roar of the wind.
"You shall find out soon Sterling. I am Nosta by the way, and we will be landing shortly." she uttered in a monotonous tone. Moments later, Nosta landed softly on the ground, making sure she left a large amount of spcae between her and the rest of the falcons and riders. "Greetings." she spoke in her tongue to the other falcons. The only elf who was able to comprehend what she was saying was Sterling.
Sterling hopped of Nosta's back and took in surroundings. He was genuinely awestruck. "Wow! This is SO cool!" he shouted. Typically, he would have said more, but he was speechless after what he had just experienced.
Corin watched the elf slightly bemused. She then turned towards the rocks and pulled her hood down, trying to cover her pudgy face. Even the halfling was handsomer than she. Without warning Naur spoke within her mind (Naur) you're very pretty for a humanoid. (Corin) wow I feel so much better. Corin sighed and snuggled against the rock. Naur bent down and sheltered her with his immense wing.
"Yeah" Corin rolled up her sleeve showing the swirling ruby red mark. "Uhm, so your Mith right?" She glanced at Naur who was egging her on. "Wanna come under Naur's wing? It's pretty dry..." Corin began taking a few twigs and sticks and started to create a fire. Naur closed his eyes and the kindling erupted in flames. "Whoa! I didn't know you could do that!" Naur gave a smirk.... Can falcons smirk? Naur made the fire simmer before letting it crackle naturally.
After flying for a while, Bella could make out a ring of stones far below her and Ithil. People were standing within the rings, all sizes and kinds, but all elven in some way. They were greeting one another, and each was accompionied by a large falcon, similar to hers. Belladonna hid her face in Ithils feathers, her hair falling to either side of her face, leavin her enclosed in a cacoon of darkness. "Do I really have to meet them?" She murmerd softly. She didn't like meeting new people, or associating with them in general, they made her nervous, and fearful.
Yes child. But you have nothing to be afraid of here.
Her voice was low and melodic, soothing Bella's fear until it was managable. She raised her head as Ithil swooped down to land in the circle of stones. Once she settled Belladonna slid of her back, her cloak settling around her in the aftermath of the landing. She looked around the circle at the other elves and couldn't help but feel like she wanted to hide.
((Sorry, Thursdays are busy for me))
Corin looks up and sees Bella. She motions for her to take refuge under the wing of Naur with their blazing fire. Naur appears to be "speaking" to another falcon.
Belladonna see's another girl motion for her to come and sit with her and another, shelterd beneath the wings of another falcon. Bella glanced at Ithil, almost as if asking whether or not to go. In responce, Ithil nudged Bella with her head gently, pushing her forward.
With hesitant steps she crossed to the others and sat down at the edge of the shelterd space. "My names belladonna" She said softly, offering a small smile. "Who are you?"
(( I think so. So Coia is the oldest falcon then? :D ))
"Er, I'm Corin, and this is Naur." She shifts u easily staring at yet another perfect elf. Corin sits at the fire with Mith and Naur seems to grumble a bit. "Alright alright, we'll move he fire." She begins to move the kindling with a branch until Naur picks it up with his feet and tosses it under an over hang. "Very nice lavanose"
Balla couldn't help herself but giggle at Naur. He and Corin seemed very nice, and they seemed to get on great with eachother. She galnced around the clearing again, counting the number of birds and elves in the stone circle. "Do you know why we're here?" She voiced, starting to rings her wet hair out onto the ground
Naur takes his wing down and bows his head to the older falcons. Corin remains by the fire. She hopes that the meeting will end soon. She hated beig among all the perfect, dainty elves. She shivered and huddled closer to the fire.
Nope, but it must be important. We were just carried by four enormous chickens. Naur growls at corins insult. "My bad" Corin gave a concerned look as she smoothed his ruffled feathers.
Umbra started to answer the first question, but more elves came, and with them came more questions. He felt crowded and slid away, finding a dry spot to sit quietly.
Sira sighed and moved to him, staying at his side protectively. She glanced about at the other falcons. Someone is late...She thought, a little annoyed. She didn't like late. Time was something to be valued and kept carefully. For anyone to waste it away, especially when it belonged to others, was an annoyance.
Naur seems to roll his eyes while Corin watches Umbras falcon. With a slight kick, Corin was up again pacing. She longed to be in the air once more, not in this place for elves.
Mynqui overheard other elves talking about marks, and instintively began searching for her own. There wasn't anything on her hands or arms, but there was something on her foot. It began between her toes, and stretched up her leg. She immediately started pulling her pant leg up shamelessly, but Ear just laughed at her.
/Unless you're planning on completely stripping down here, you won't be able to see all of your mark right now/
Mynqui jealously looked at the others. Their marks weren't as big and troublesome as hers. She bet their falcons weren't as troublesome either. Ear squawked and hit her playfully with her wing. Mynqui had forgotten that Ear could hear her thoughts...this would take some getting used to.
As she watched the other elves, she saw them taking refuge from the rain under a falcon's wing. Ear, hearing this, lifted up her own wing, but Mynqui politely declined her offering. The rain felt good to her, almost making her seemd stronger and lighter. It was almost like she was back at her secluded stream, where her thoughts were clear and she felt like herself.
/In a while, I think you'll like the rain even more/
Mynwui glanced suspiciously at Ear. What exactly was going to happen?
Galen's smile faltered sligtly at the one eef's bluntness, but she recovered quickly.
"I'm Galen," she anounced to the crowd.
Coia eyes traveled over the falcons. She clicked softly. Where is the last?
((Sorry guys, vollyball game for semi finals last night, we won but I got homw at 11 pm))
Fleece stood, rather in awe of everything happening. Kalin nudged him with his beak, Get going, why won't cha? Fleece gulped, he didn't like other people, and he had never been confonted with this many. Kalin said in Fleece's head, You like to fix things don't you? So help, stop anything from breaking. Fleece glared at Kalin and murmered, "Don't read my thoughts."
Kalin sighed and stepped away from Fleece, he had had enough time to regain composer. Fleece stepped foward, he could be polite, "Hi, I'm Fleece."
Moth heard the others talking about strange markings and getting burnt. She remembered vaguely a stinging sensation on the flight to the council, but not enough to remember where it was.
It’s under your glove.
Ele offered helpfully, and Moth peeled off her archers glove. The marking shown brilliantly, unlike the faint glows of the other’s her symbol could very well be a lamp. It was an eye.
What is this supposed-
She tried to say, but Ele interrupted.
