((again, sorry about taking so long to reply.  All of my stuff is fininishing up this week, so hopefully I'll be back to my normal schedule after that :) ))

Axon felt Megan's pinch faintly, and forced himself to stay conscious.  The bleeding had slowed, thanks to Megan's attention, but it still seemed to be dripping his life away.  He held Megan tighter with his remaining strength, so desperate that he would actually welcome Michael coming to save them.

The guard stationed outside the prison corridor rubbed his temples angrily.  It felt like some kind of migraine, or maybe a fever dream.  He couldn't comprehend the stream of thoughts filling his mind, leaving him ignorant of the two teenagers running by him.

This way!  Michael had been distracting the guard, and was relieved to see that he didn't notice them.  The hallway he was guarding seemed to contain barred rooms, which was promising.  Just as it seemed they would be by the guard completely unnoticed, Megan's voice filled his head, making him lose control for a second.

Returning to full consciousness, the guard saw them.  "Ethan!" he managed to shout before Michael could stop him.  You have any idea who Ethan is? he asked Rachel.

((Don't worry about it :). Did you have AP testing?))

Megan looked at him worriedly, he was holding her tighter like she was anchoring him to his conciousness. She looked around despretly searaching for something to stop or slow the bleeding. She tore off her pant leg and pressed it against his back, it wasn't long enough to wrap around him. She gritted her teeth, he didn't have long she knew that.

When the guard yelled for Ethan, Rachel automatically sang surounding him in smoke. She glanced around, where would he come from? She kept singing softly, gathering the smoke in preparation for his attack. It may attrack him to where they were but at least she would have the smoke on their side and Michael's mental capabilies.

She glanced at Michael, No clue. What did Megan say? Something about a bad guy with a firey sword? She put her back against a wall, Tell me what you can feel.

((I can't believe I've been gone for a week, I'm so sorry!  But yeah, I had 3 tests, and I kind of had to cram for them :s ))

It wasn't how Axon would've chosen to go out, but then, it wasn't like he got a choice.  The darkness creeping around his field of vision was becomming more and more appealing, even the pain was starting to die away.  Only the thought of Megan was keeping him from succumbing to how tired he was.  I can't let her see me die, not like this...
"Megan," he choked, "would you sing something for me?"

Ethan jumped up from where he was stationed a little ways from Megan and Axon's cell.  The guard's alarm came from the adjacent hallway, just half a minute away.  And as only silence followed the guard's initial call, Ethan had to suspect the worst.  Drawing out his flaming sword, Ethan charged down the hallway, prepared to meet the intruders head on.

There's a few people up ahead, Michael thought back, mimicking Rachel and pressing himself against the wall.  Axon and Megan are-- he felt someone coming at them quickly, forcing his attention away.  Someone's coming...I think it's Ethan!  With everything that was going on, he couldn't be certain, but he supposed it didn't really matter what his name was.  If he just had some magic sword, they shouldn't have a problem, right?

((I missed you!!!! Glad you're back :), and I hope the tests went well))

Megan didn't hestitate: she jumped into a little song her mommy taught her when she was a little little kid. It was about Spring with flowers blooming and the world awakening. As she sang she worriedly clung to his hand, hopeing he wouldn't go to sleep. She didn't know much but she knew that going to sleep was bad. Megan kissed him quickly on the forehead and squeezed his hand.
She paused her song to say, "Please don't die Axon. Don't die." She continued singing but worry was creeping in.

Rachel immediatly started to sing letting the smoke drift along the wall next to them, she needed to be able to see the attacker. She kept singing softly and strained her eyes to see. Anything specail about him? She frowned, why would there only be one gaurd with powers when they knew two very powerful people would be coming? It bothered her, what could this guy do? Could he beat them?

((Thanks!!
and do you want to just focus on Michael and Rachel until they get to the cell?  or did you want Axon to die?  i would be fine with that))

Though it was getting harder to hold on, Megan's song brought him a little comfort.  It was something to latch onto, a distraction besides the cold, hard prison floor and the faint sound of fighting from elsewhere in the building.  He could pick out the worry in Megan's voice, and immediately felt guilty--it was his own da.mn fault for being so weak.  If he could only stay alive for a little longer, he'd have another chance...

Ethan burst into the hallway, setting his sights on the two intruders.  He grinned, striking the wall with his sword.  The metal clanged against the stone, and the fire spread onto the wall and floor, burning away the smoke.

Michael started to answer, but Ethan's appearance flustered him, making him freeze for a second.  Seeing Rachel's smoke disappear just made him more nervous--he knew he had to focus, but the pressure made this nearly impossible.  He tried to distract Ethan, but was more than a little distracted himself.

((Eek, I hope he doesn't die, but it's up to you!
And focus on Michael and Rachel is good (unless you have him die) ))

Rachel jumped away from the burning wall and stared at him amazed, she had no idea someone might be able to get rid of the smoke. What in the world could he be? As her brain whirled the fire advanced along the floor, soon their feet would be burning. Rachel started to panic, she didn't know what to do!

Rachel tried singing again but the flame burned it away another time. A thought occured to her and she acted before she could even think it through. There was very little smoke left from outside, but some responded to her call. She glanced at him and tried to figure out how soon would he full attack? To stall she said, "Very impressive. Maybe even better than attacking an innocent little girl and man."

((OK, I won't make him die then, I just thought maybe you wanted him to and I just wasn't picking up the hint :S
and I hope I didn't make Ethan's power too OP, I just thought he wouldn't have any chance unless he had some way to counter Rachel's smoke))

Ethan braced himself to charge, but halted at Rachel's comment.  Oblivious to the fact that she was stalling, he readily took the bait, replying haughtily, "Innocent?  Don't make me laugh.  You two are the ones who rebelled, breaking your own agreement.  Return to Darenx now and perhaps we won't kill your friends."

Michael was startled at the sight of the approaching flames, but forced himself to ignore it.  The longer he let himself stand by, the higher chance Megan would be hurt.  He had to act now.  He shut his eyes, trying to block out the talking and the thickening smell of smoke.  Hoping Rachel had a plan, he tried to distract Ethan with a barrage of random thoughts.
