((yeah, me neither))
Michael, not rid of the infectious laughter, continued to chase her, but slower, as he was already beginning to tire. He took a short break on Megan's bed, then returned to chasing her around the room.
((lol are they just going to keep playing tag until dinner?))
Axon looked up to Rachel hopefully, but after a second of comprehension, his face fell. "No, I couldn't do that to you. You're in enough trouble as it is, you don't want to mix a spoiled rich brat into it." Still, he remembered Rachel's power..maybe that would be enough to dissuade his father? "You should at least ask this Michael first. I'm fairly certain of the mansion he was taken to, they're always going through slaves, and I know for a fact that Megan's caretaker was recently killed. We should go there first."
((Umm, he could take them into some kind of basement like toture room? I don't know... And I think dinner can come now :) ))
Meghan sqeualed and giggled like mad running around the room, always able to dart out of his reach. A bell tolled and Meghan stopped, turning to Michael. "I got to go to dinner. Stay in the room, I'll be back in an hour." She left the room, then came back a second later and went to her toy chest. She pulled out a scetch book and colored pencils and gave them to Michael, "Something to do." She smiled and skipped from the room.
Rachel looked down, then back up at him, "I'll ask him, but please consider it! And her caretaker died?! Could that happen to Michael too?"
Michael smiled sadly after her, it would probably be the last time he ever saw that sweet little girl. Still, he prayed everything would go well enough that he wouldn't see her again. Feeling a little foolish, he wrote "Bye, I'll miss you!' in the sketch book, followed by a quick drawing of them playing tag. He made sure it was in the middle of the sketch book so Megan wouldn't find it for a while. Trying to look casual, but checking hallways as he entered them, Michael made his way to the servant's entrance.
"'Course it could happen to Michael," Axon replied bluntly, still a little angry at this guy Rachel cared so much about. "That's why we should hurry. I'll need you to put your gag back on.." Looking through his drawers, Axon took a small dagger. "But you have your song-thing, so this is only a precaution," he reasoned, partially to himself. He didn't want to bring a weapon, but realized that he had to.
Meghan got to the dinner table, fending off questions from her dad. After that her father was quite, and Meghan talked to the servants happily.
Rachel flinched at the words, "I'm sorry." When he told her to put the gaga on, she did so without hestitation, trying to win back his trust, or whatever it was she had lost. She gulped at the sight of the dagger, but since the gag was on she said nothing.
Michael had gotten to the servant's entrance without any trouble, but he was coming to the place that crossed right in front of the house. Please, make a distraction, he asked Brandon (that was the name of the other servant, right?). He waited a few seconds, listening and telepathically feeling for a disturbance.
Axon blushed slightly, his anger draining away. "You..you don't have anything to be sorry for.." he said softly. He didn't know why he was so angry...probably a combination of what they were trying to do and having to be by his father again. Leading Rachel gently, he departed from the room and head down the stairs.
"Dad, we're heading to a club, don't follow us!" Axon called down the stairs. Sure enough, his father was where he had been before, sitting not-so-innocently in the parlor. "Having fun up there?" Jules winked. As Axon walked out the door, he heard his father grumble almost indistinctively, "no funny business now, boy."
Brandon shook his head and found himself helping the man. He came into dining room with a serving tray and pretended to trip, spilling the contents of the tray all over Meghan's father and hit his head on the table as he went down. He lay on the floor seemingly 'unconsious'.
Rachel nodded and walked out behind him, keeping her head down. When his father asked if he had "fun" up there, Rachel started to tremble, mostly from fear, but it was also from humiliation and anger.
Michael felt Brandon feel confused and take a drastic action, and Megan's father definitely noticed. Michael darted along the last part of the path, not daring to look into the window to see if he had been noticed.
Axon, feeling much less confident now, led Rachel into the woods surrounding his mansion. He paused to untie her gag, but immediately sprinted into the woods. "Their mansion is this way! We can get there in a few minutes if we go through the woods!"
Meghan jumped up to see if he was alright but her father sat there and frowned. Brandon was never clumsy... He got up from the table and walked towards the window in time to see Michael dart from the path. Swearing he ran to the door, he knew where Michael would first try to go, and he could intercept him.
Rachel ran behind him hopeing that if his father happened to look out the wondow, he would only see her. Axon said the mansion is within a few minutes, her hopes raised, she'd see Michael again in only a couple of minutes!
Michael had the feeling someone had seen him, but he was too far away now to determine who it was and whether he was being pursued. Frantically, he felt for Rachel's presence...the woods? He thought it impossible that Rachel would be so close, but it was unmistakably her. He ran toward the woods, using Rachel's thoughts as a guide.
Axon ran through the forest easily, as he had when he was younger. The woods had been one of his methods of escape while he lived with his father, and even now, years later, he knew his way around. Axon saw lights ahead, though distant--the lights of the mansion where Michael probably was. He prayed they weren't too late.
((You know, I still haven't name her father yet...))
Meghan's father ran fast only sparing a thought for the fact that he had never run after slaves before, he had always left that for another. He could see Michael up ahead and roared in outrage, "Get back here you dirty slave! I should have killed you awhile ago!"
Rachel heard the roar and knew Michael must be running away - and close to them. She wasn't sure if he could only project thoughts or if he could hear them too but she called out in her head, Michael! Thank god he hasn't killed you! Come this way. I have a friend with me, he's okay. Oh come quick!
((lol I thought his name was Mr. Megan's Dad?))
Michael heard Rachel's thoughts like a fire alarm held right up to his ear. It almost drowned out Megan's father's yelling after him and the sound of blood pumping fast in his ears. He thought he saw movement up ahead, but it was hard to tell in the dark forest. Rachel, I'm being chased. Does your friend have a weapon?
Axon heard someone yelling up ahead. He recognized the voice, it was the owner of the mansion, notorious for killing his slaves. He felt that he would have no problem hurting this man to help Rachel, but felt a bit ashamed of the thought afterwards. He didn't want to have to hurt anyone, but if it had to be someone, this guy would be high on his list. He wondered if Rachel would use her power on him.
((Can you imagine growing up with a name like that? Your nickname would be affwul for a guy, Meg? Dad?))
Meghan's dad ran, screaming things out, many unplesant things too. He thought he saw movement up ahead and darted for it. He wasn't in good shape and his breathing grew heavy.
Rachel listened hard while she ran, We could hear from the screams. Yes he has a knife, but I'm not sure he wants to use it. I'm not going to use my voice! There was panic in the last sentence, she had killed two people and didn't want to end up killing another. To Axon she said, "Michael's not far." She didn't stop to explain about his power, just kept running. And ran she did, right into Meghan's dad.
Meghan's dad huffed a bit, the girl had been running fast. Seeing the look on her face, he knew that she had to be of some use to him, why else would she be so scared? He lunged out grabbing her arm and twisting her so that her back was to his chest. He screamed as loud as he could, "Come on back slave or else I'll kill this girl."
((I'm gonna add another Rachel cause I feel like it is needed (Plus I don't want to get back to gobal) ))
Rachel unfroze and started to struggle. She screamed as loud as she could, even though she knew Axon wasn't far behind, "MICHAEL! AXON!"
Axon's head whipped around at Rachel's voice. He could tell she was in danger, and he suddenly felt very protective. Another guy was running toward her, presumably this 'Michael', to whom Axon growled, "Step aside, pretty boy." Axon saw the silhouette of a man behind Rachel's struggling figure. "You lay a finger on her, old man, and it'll be the last thing you ever do." His knife had seemed to appear in his right hand, he didn't recall taking it out, but he felt angry enough to use it.
Michael rushed toward Rachel's voice, but stopped when he heard the snarl of an unfamiliar voice. The stranger went over to two other people, one of them was Rachel. Michael wasn't sure who the first stranger was, but the second stranger was clearly an enemy, probably Megan's dad. Michael didn't dare go over to the first stranger, unsure if he was friend of foe, but he tried reading his current thoughts to determine his motives. By opening that telepathic pathway, Michael's rage, not able to be expressed by Michael's body, streamed into Axon's ready form.
Axon's knife arm dropped to his side. His head felt weird, not like a headache but more like a shot. He knew he wasn't hurt, but he felt like his brain was wide open. Out of nowhere, he felt much more enraged. As if by its own will, Axon's knife flew back into the air, poised above Megan's father. "DIE!" Axon screamed, with the combined rage of two young men.
((what do you mean 'get back to gobal?"))
((I was doing global homework and if I posted another part, then I could have a little break :), basically I was avoiding my homework :)! Oh, and I absolutly love the "combined rage of two young men" ;) ))
Rachel struggled but only succeed in twisting her arm further up her back. Who in the world was this guy. Her thoughts were frozen and all she could think of was escape. By now it was dark enough that she couldn't see the approaching figure's faces. She presumed that it was Michael and Axon, but she couldn't be sure. "Hel-" She was cut off by the hand encircleing her windpipe.
Meghan's father cut the girl's cry off by squeezing her throat. He saw the two figures approach but couldn't see either clearly. When one of the lunged at him, he stepped back dragging the girl with him and retailated by kneeing the girl in the back causeing her to cry out. He spoke quietly, "I will kill this girl if either of you think of trying to kill me again. Come with me quietly."
Rachel stopped struggling foccused on drawing breath. She was getting just barley enough air, but spots were appearing in her vision.
Axon growled with frustration. He wanted to desperately to kill this man, but Rachel's safety came first. "I'm Axon, son of Jules Riverdale. If you let Rachel go, I'll come quietly. My father will give you anything in exchange for my safe return."
Michael struggled to control his fluctuating emotions. He had felt this kind of thing happen before, but never with this amount of uncontrollable strength. He took a few seconds to gather himself, make his mind stable, before approaching the man who offered himself for Rachel. Was this the man Rachel said was coming with her? He must be the person who bought her, Michael thought, and he was probably just doing this to get his slave back. "You slave traders," he snarled. While Axon was preoccupied with Rachel's safety, Michael smashed his fist into the right side of his head, screaming, "you're all the same!" He couldn't contain his disgust with slave traders any more, he just wanted to get Rachel away from them.
Axon nearly blacked out for a second after he felt the attack from behind, knowing it was Michael. His logical mind told him that Michael was on his side, but his emotions said he was an enemy. Instinctively, Axon jabbed his dagger toward Michael, though not very accurately, as he was still suffering from the blow to the head.
Michael saw the dull shimmer of a blade appear half a foot to his left. He had forgotten that Rachel said the man had a weapon, but he was thankful that it was only a knife. Michael took advantage of his confusion to make his next attempt at cutting him miss, but the link allowed the force of Axon's emotions to hit him full-on again. Michael felt himself beginning to stagger, but he couldn't break the telepathic link for fear of Axon's blade hitting him.
((sorry for being confusion. boys + vauge mind powers = ??. Basically, Axon is stabbing at empty air in a blind fit of rage as Michael staggers around like a drunken sailor, both completely oblivious to Rachel and her captor :3))
((Okay, thanks :) ))
Meghan's dad watched the two start to fight. He wanted his slave back... but then again he had a perfectly good slave right here didn't he? He put his hand that wasn't strangling her over her mouth and dragged her backwards.
Rachel could barley concentrate, was barey struggling which made his job easier. she was fighting passing out, but the air getting in her was restricted. She was unable to talk so she called out in her mind very weakly, Michael...
The girl's struggling had slowed and in a moment ceased altogether, she had passed out. He let go of her throat, but kept a hand over her mouth and kept pulling her back.
Michael jerked to attention at Rachel's mental plea, but in doing so lost his protection against Axon's blade. He felt hot pain spring up along his left side as he ran blindly forward. Rachel? Rachel! he thought desperately, terrified at the lack of response.
Axon felt like his mind had cleared, and successfully dug his knife into the side of his adversary. Instead of falling down in pain, however, Michael began to ran away. "Hey, I'm not done with you yet!" Axon shouted. He tackled MIchael and wrestled him to the ground. "I'm the one saving Rachel, not you!"
Michael was shocked for a moment before realization hit him. "Wait, saving Rachel? That's what I was doing, until you tackled me!" So, this person wasn't a slave trader? There was no reason for him to lie....
Michael's logic began to clear the clouds of rage from Axon's confused mind. "Oh...yeah, you're Michael!" He realized. Though it was dark and Michael couldn't see, his face turned red with embarassment. What had he done? Rachel had been taken and it was all his fault. "I'm so sorry.." Axon mumbled, helping Michael up. "He probably took her back to the mansion, let's go!" Axon ran toward the mansion with Michael lagging behind, holding his side. It was a shallow wound, but running fast made it bleed more.
Meghan's dad got back to the mansion and he dragged the girl inside. One of the servants stopped and stared until Meghan's dad sneered at him, the servant moved on. He dragged the girl up the stairs and into his room, then tossed her on the bed. He went to the door to close it but sundenly Meghan's small form stood there. Meghan started talking, "Brandon's okay, he has a small lump on his head, but he will be fine. The china is broken. Say, do you know where Michael went? He's not in my room." Meghans dad stopped in the doorway and said, "The slave is gone." He slammed the door in her face which made her jump back a step. Meghan shrugged and went to her room.
Meghan's dad stared at the girl on his bed, so many possiblitys...
Axon turned some servant heads, but no one dared ask him what was going on. As he stood in the doorway, trying to determine where to search first, Michael pushed past him. He felt Rachel's presence faintly but clearly down a certain hallway.
"Where do you think you're going, smart guy?" Axon said. He began to feel annoyed that Michael could help Rachel when he couldn't.
"I know where she is, the guy's room is this way." Michael began to run as as fast as he could with his injury. He didn't care if Axon believed him or not.
Axon hated to admit it, but going with Michael was probably his best option. Otherwise, he'd be forced to check every room of the house, and by that time it might be too late. Begrudgingly, he followed Michael down the hall.
Michael knew he wouldn't be able to control the man's actions at this point, but he was able to deliver a short, stern telepathic message: I'm coming for you, bastard
