Cora shrugged in response. "I'm not sure." she whispered quietly, looking over the group of teenagers crowded around the book. She was hesitant to go over and join them. Big crowds, or even smaller ones had never been a pleasure of hers. However, this crowd was gathered around a book. Books happened to be one of Cora's favorite things. "S-should we go over and c-c-check it out?" she asked warily. "I'll only go if you go." she added in a small mousy voice.
"Yeah we're gonna check it out!" Illea roughly grabbed Cora's arm and pulled her to the crowd, not paying any mind to the fact that she was in the library. "Whatcha guys doin'?" She asked the crowd loudly, trying to peer over their heads to see what they held.
Caver had been so wrapped up in the strange book he hadn't noticed the small crowed that had gathered. He jumped guiltily and his hips hit the stand. A small thunk sounded as something hit the ground.
Carver spotted a skeleton key. He reached down to pick it up. As his fingers wrapped around it something strange happened: the book began to glow.
"Woooah!" Illea moaned, staring wide-eyed at the glowing book. "Whadja do tooit?" She glanced around at other people in the group, trying to comprehend what was happening.
As Illea roughly grabbed Cora's arm, Cora obliged and scrambled over to the crowd. Once they stopped, Cora took her arm back and began rubbing the spot where Illea had grabbed. She watched in awe as the book began to glow. Not too far off she noticed a boy holding something, though from this distance she couldn't quite make out what it was. Her eye's widened in shock, the book began to glow brighter and brighter to a point where it was almost blinding.
((let's wait for the others to post...))
((sorry I haven't been on this week. Life in college is waaay different than highschool.))
Toni jumped back when the giant book started to glow, knocking into a shelf that was behind him. Using his arms to shield the blinding light, Toni tried to see what was happening. "What's going on?" he tried asking though he was sure no one else would know the answer.
Katarina jumped backwards and stared at the book in disbelief. "What...?" She whispered, barely able to speak. Looking around, Katarina was surprised to see more people crowding around the book. She couldn't remember seeing this many people in the library before. Why today? She raised a hand to shield her eyes from the blinding light, but still couldn't see what was going on.
((anyone else we're waiting for?))
(( Just monkeymorgan and haley.comet I think. I am going to probably start the first chapter this weekend FYI. We'll just keep going now. && S'okay, WIngless. I know how you feel.)))
Carver squeezed his eyes shut as a blast of wind- where was the wind coming from?!- hit him full in the face. His jacket and hair blew around wildly and he placed one hand on the book stand to steady himself.
His hand didn't land on the stand, however. It hit the pages of the large book and it felt like he'd placed it on a vacume (sp?). His hand was being sucked in.
Carver yelped in surprise as the sucking wind began to grow stronger and reach out toward the others around him,
Illea instinctively stepped back when Carver started flailing. Was this some kind of trick book with a secret compartment or something? And why was it suddenly so windy? As she noticed Carver seemed to be grasping for help, she timidly offered her hand. Whatever was happening, she definitely didn't like it.
((I will be starting the next chapter tomorrow!! Everyone who hasn't posted please do so. If you haven't posted at all (some of you haven't) You will be dropped from the thread because the story will start to get too far ahead without you :( If you can't, for some reason, please inform me!!!)))
((I am SOOOO sorry life got out of hand but its back to normalish now.))
Jesse saw all of the teenagers gathering around one book. after a moment his curiosity over came him and he went to look at the book. However he immediatly regreted it when he saw one of the boys being sucked in? Without a second thought Jesse reached out to grab the boys arm before pulling with all of his strength.
((I'm gonna be gone for the weekend. Just thought I should let you guys know ^_^))
(( Sorry, first quarter ended today so I was bombarded with tests/homework. My apologies! ))
Cora shrieked as one of the boy's arms began to get sucked in. "Make it stop!" she cried out desperately. She had never thought books could do such evil things. Books had always been her loyal friends, never treating her poorly. Now what was all this? The light was still somewhat blinding, and the strong winds unbalanced her slightly so that she stumbled towards the group, accidentally bumping into someone. It felt as if the wind was forcing her forwards, though she couldn't imagine why.
((It's okay, monkeymorgan. Thanks for the heads up, Wingless! I'll make sure we don't get too far ahead of you. && You're good, Shooting. Star, you've kept up well. Do you guys want me to go ahead and post the new chapter tonight? If I get three 'Yeahs' I will go ahead.)) :)
((yeah! I'lll probably be working most of sunday, though, but I'll be on again at night))
((I will start this next chapter later today. Until then write the scene where your character is sucked into the Book.))
Carver reached out and grabbed the girl's hand just as he was yanked forward into the book. He felt wieghtless for a moment and then the sensation (sp?) that he was falling. Everything was white around him, but suddenly words started to appear in front of his face. They were flying toward him and this past him. He could see a lot below starting to form something....but before he could figure out what it was he felt strange. It felt like his entire body went to sleep. The next thing he knew he had falled asleep too.
((Everyone, if you would, please fall asleep too so they can all wake up in the first Realm))
The boy grabbed Illea's hand, and she struggled to keep him from ((dare she think it?)) falling into the book. She didn't understand what was going on at all, not that it mattered, since it didn't seem like there was anything she could do. She was only slowing down the boy's descent into the book, and she was being sucked in along with him. Her brain didn't process this in time, and instead of letting go, she letter herself be pulled in along with him. Squinting at the sudden brightness, she realized that she must be inside the book, and the words that started flying around her confirmed her theory. Her arms, which she had been flailing, trying to get a grasp on a wall or something, began feeling heavy and useless. So did, she discovered, the rest of her body, and before she could consider why this might be, she fell into a deep sleep.
