Shiloh crossed her arms on her chest,
"Yess I'm su'e." she muttered. She glared at Shadow but didn't attempt to get away again. Shadow would just catch her.
"Thi' be''er no' ta'e lon'." she growled angry.
Ellie sighed. "Do you have a dragon scale, by chance? That's the only ingredient I'm missing." She explained. "If I had that, I'd be able to brew something up to help Shadow. You'd be able to be on your way..."
Shadow sighed, looking at Shiloh hopefully. Otherwise it was back to the dragon camp...
Shiloh shook her head. Or course she didn't have a stupid dragon scale, then her eyes brightened, but she did have an idea. She lung onto Shadow's back,
"Cat;h up wi'h A'rian." she commanded. Shadow could catch Star easily, they hadn't sepereate dthat long ago. Adrian was a half blood she'd have to figur eout how get him to give her a scale, buts he already had an dea, he had seeme dlike he didn't want to go to camp, so she wa sgoing to let him come with her.
Shadow got the idea and took off, finding Star's scent and following it. Sure enough, they caught up to the pair quite easily. Adrian and Star, both reluctant to get back, had been going really slow. Adrian was afraid at first, but then he realized who it was and it just became surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"A'rain, you can tra'el wi'h me if you can ge' me a s'ale." Shiloh told the boy, forcing Shadow to slow down as she walked beside him. Shiloh was antsy, she wanted to get back to get this potion stuff over with and find Nathan. Shiloh waited for Adrian's response.
Adrian blinked. "A dragon scale?" He questioned. He looked down, biting his lip. "If that's all the cost..." He let scales cover his body and drew out the knife she'd given him. He handed it to her. "I can't do it. It'll hurt too bad to do it to myself. But I'll gradly let you scrape one off."
Shiloh took a deep breath and carefully scraped a scale from his hand trying to avoid hurting him too much.
"Le's go back." she said. Shiloh turned Shadow around and started to ride back, checking to make sure Star was following with Adrian before she picke dup speed.
Scraping a scale off was something extremely painful. The scale had to be torn and pried away, and Adrian grit his teeth while she did it. When they set off, he hung onto Star with one hand, his hurt hand held close to him. They rode fairly quickly, getting there in a matter of minutes.
Shiloh got to the house, she shoved the scale into Elle's hand and then turned to Adiran. She lifted him off the horse so he was closer to her hieght,s he dropped down to a kneeling position and looked at his hand. She tore the lowest strip out of her tunic and wrapped the hand up, tying it gently,
"Um I'm so''y." she mumbled ruffling his hair as she stood up.
Adrian shrugged. "It's not much a price to pay...to have somewhere to go...to have a choice." He mumbled softly.
Ellie accepted the scale and disappeared inside to do her work. Shadow sighed and went to graze on grass while he waited, knowing it could take her a while to successfully concoct the brew he needed. He kept an eye on Shiloh and adrian.
"OK." she said she went over and sat down under a tree, resting her back agaimst the rough bark. She was trying to think, it was frustrating this delay in her plans. Shiloh started to draw random diagrams in the dirt.
Ellie eventually came out holding out a bowl of her finished brew. "This should help you deary, but it's temporary. You'll have to pick one form or another soon to stay in, before you get stuck again. I fear I cannot make anymore of this, and it would not work again for you anyway."
Shadow nodded, accepting all of it. He hated the taste, but he glanced at Shiloh as he felt it slowly taking effect.
Ellie sighed. "You two kids might want to look away. I'll see if I can find him some clothes to wear."
Shiloh ducked her head, covering her face with her hands, she was thinking if Shadow turned into a human than they'd only have one horse. She'd probably have Adrian ride the horse and she and human-Shadow would walk.
She called Adrian over to her side, not wanting anything t o happen to him while she had her eyes closed. She'd promised to take him with her, which meant Adrian was now unde rher care and protection. That thought freaked her out, she knew it was a big task, she could barely keep herself out of harms way and had barely recovered from the dungeon she could only hope she was ready to take care of the little boy.
((Alright so for Adrian do want me to powerplay him some or no? I'm askingc ause I know you don't like it when you have to PP all extra charries in an RP and I don't want to step on your toes and do anything without permission.))
(I don't usually like having to PP everyone, but Adrian is a special character here. I'd like to play him myself. You could control Star as much as you want though, and introduce new characters as you see fit.)
Adrian scrambled to Shiloh's side, biting his lip.
Shadow gave grunts of pain as he slowly shifted into a human form. It was pretty quick, but it sounded painful. Soon, a very tall, very tan man stood there. He was at least seven feet tall, with long black hair. He was very muscular, and he quickly pulled on some pants that Ellie gave him, pants from back before, when he was last there.
He looked at Shiloh and Adrian, clearing his throat. "You'll have to excuse...I've not spoken in many years..."
((OK, just asking.))
Shiloh looked up, she stared at Shadow for a few moments before standing up. Shadow was tall and built like a bear. She felt nervous around someone so huge, some one who could over power her and Adrian in a heartbeat her head ducked and she kicked a pebble.
"Um yeah i's fi'e." she said. She grabbed Adrian's hand partly for his comfort but mostly for her own becuase she intimidated.
Shadow sighed deeply. "This is why I prefer to be a horse." He muttered to Ellie, who just shook her head and went inside, leaving then. The giant of a man looked at Shiloh. "Look, you shouldn't be intimidated. I'm no different now as I was a horse. No more powerful, no less."
He moved to Star, holding his hand out for her. He wanted her to keep trusting him, even when he was a man. "Nathan expected to be captured by the soldiers, and I believe he was. His scent follows their path. But if they were headed towards the king, they would have gone a different direction. They were headed straight for the mountains instead of going around the edge. There is no pass through the mountains to the other side. they have a camp, or they have another motive than to bring Nathan to the king. We need to find them, but we can't rush into things like you're trying to do."
"So he' bee' cap'ured bu' you don'' wanna hu''y an' ge' him be''er?" Shiloh aske dincredulous. She felt like not going nad getting Nathan was bandoning him to be tortured by the guards. She didn't know what they wanted with him, but Shiloh knew it couldn't get back.
Shiloh suddered to think the guards toturing Nathan, she knew they wouldn't do the same things they did to her, but hs estill shuddered to think of what could be happening,
"We can't a'andone him to 'e tor'ured." she said, her face was pale and her eyes she'd raise dto glare at Shadow.
"He wants us to forget about him!" Shadow snapped. "Move on, leave him. Forget about him. He's probably dead by now! That's what he told me in the letter!"
Adrian whimpered, grabbing Shiloh's hand and sticking close to her, fearful of Shadow. He was quite frightening when he shouted, his voice deep and power coursing through him almost visibly.
Shadow took a deep breath and let it out slowly, looking away. "I was supposed to protect you, no matter what.. Not let you go after him at all. But I needed the help, and you weren't going to take no for an answer anyway." He looked at her. "Listen, if you die, he'd be torn apart. He'd never get over losing you. We have to approach this situation with caution and planning. I need you to listen to me, because I'm a heck of a lot older and more experienced than you."
"He wan' us to for'et him?" Shiloh asked, she sounded hurt. Why would Nathan want to be found? Why would he want to stay away? He'd promised he wanted to take care of her and protect her but he left and didn't want to be found.
"We s'ill go''a fin' him." she said softly,
"I'll li'ten." she muttered. She pulled Adrian closer, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
Shadow shook his head. "Shiloh...I don't think he expected to be alive that long. It'd take near a miracle for him to be alive. He...he really was stabbed in the heart. A dragon might could have taken it, but he was dying. He drank some of my blood in an attempt to help it, but neither of us knew if it was going to work. He could still be weak and unable to take any more stress on his body. Meaning any torture would have killed him by now."
Shadow was very pained as he spoke. "The point is, Nathan knew he'd probably be dead. He didn't want you or me risking our lives over a dead body."
