"Use it for self defence and protection." Faith said.
"Ah," Alex said apathetically, a little dissapointed that he hadn't said something a little more...interesting. So bland, Faith seemed to be, but Alex tried to hide it. He began to look down at his folded hands, not making any more attempts at conversation.
"What would you use a sword for?" Faith asked Alex.
"I dunno...kill stuff," he replied. He caught himself, glanced quickly around, and added, "animals! Killing animals. Not..humans..people...no."
Faith laughed. "Your a funny guy." Faith said.
Hona showed no sign of hearing their conversation at all, except upon his words that he would "kill stuff" her hand clenched into a tight fist. He fist did not unclench as he reasured Faith. His words had been spoken too quickly, too hasty...
Alex laughed, too, glad that Faith seemed to be cheering up. He was starting to doubt Faith had any suspicions at all--his enjoyment seemed too genuine, too natural. Hona, though..she was too quiet. His mind raced to find a new topic of discussion, one that he could easily maneuver. "So...what do you do for a living?" He asked quickly, regretting it instantly. He kicked himself inside, stupid, stupid, stupid!!
Travis remained silent as the people around him talked and socialized. He didn't like crowds much. Too unpredictable. The alcohol didn't help matters, either.
Though he didn't normally like talking to people unless it was necessary, the words left his mouth before he could stop them, a hint of a bitter note in his voice. "Killing is funny now, huh?" He gave Faith a level stare, completely devoid of any emotion.
"I cut hair for a living." Faith told Alex.
Alex, thankful for Travis's interuption, turned to face him. He saw that Travis was staring at Faith and could hardly contain his happiness. Instead, trying to look stoic, he said softy to Travis, "Sorry, sir...meant no offense by it...did we, Faith?"
Faith didn't hear what Travis had said. But he agreed with Alex anyways.
"So...you're a barber?" Alex asked Faith, hoping to retain some normalacy. "That must be interesting."
"Actually. I'm a hair designer, hair dresser, and a barber." Faith told Alex.
((New chacter! I can't do much with Hona, so y new chcarter is going to force her to socailise, muhaha!
Appereance: Kayla is small for her age, 4'5. She has bright brown eyes that are always wide and happy. Her hands are small and she has a long curly brown ponytail. Kayla looks just like a simple child, but she has a bit more to her...
Personality: Kayla can brighten anyone's day, she is always happy and cheerful.))
Hona looked sharply over at Travis, he hadn't spoken since she had been in here... corse she had only spoken once.
Kayla looked around the street, where could she be? Looking at the pub, she decided to try it. Bounding over, Kayla stepped inside and looked around. Upon seeing Hona she raced over, "Hi Hona, I've been looking everwhere for you. Where you've been? In here all this time? It's a little small, and kinda crowded, not really your place. Why are you in here? Hiding? Nah, ooh look other people!" Hona jumped at the girls sunden questions and answered, her voice now carefree, her bodymanor easy, nothing like she had been before, "Hey Kayla. I came here for a drink... which you can't have." Kayla pouted, but was distracted. Grabbing Hona's hand she dragged her over to the two men in the corner who seemed kind of anxious and tense, a fight? Kayla smiled at them and said, "Hi I'm Kayla, and this is Hona. She doesn't speak much around people she doesn't know. Some people may think it's shyness - nah no one would think she is shy with that sword." She talked at a million miles an hour geustering to Hona's sword, "She just doesn't like people I guess. Or maybe just people she doesn't know? I don't know, I'm Kayla - wait, I already said that! Haha, what's your names?" Kayla stopped talking and looked at them expectantly. Hona looked nervous and had a hand on Kayla shoulder protectivly.
"Heh, didn't know there was a difference.." Alex noted.
He noticed the entergetic girl burst in, and chuckled to himself. A hyperative child paired with a sword-toting antisocial, no one would notice a social awkward changeling in this environment.
When the girl ran up to him and started talking to him so quickly, he was taken by surprise and took a second to answer. "I'm...Alex, and this is Faith...Nice to meet you, Kayla."
Kayla turned towards Hona, hands on her hips. "You see? They don't sound dangerous at all." Hona's hand tightened on Kayla's shoulder, but Kayla pulled out a chair and sat at their table anyway. Looking over at Alex, she said, "Nice to meet you Alex. Is it okay to call you that? Do you have a last name? Middle name? I love middle names, they are the bestys best. Mine's Amy. Kayla Amy, doesn't sound so much better than just Kayla? Just call me Kayla though, Kayla Amy is far too long..." Kayla paused for breath and went to start again, but Hona spoke, "Kayle, perhaps these men want to be left alone." Her voice was cold.
"Oh, it's quite all right," Alex assured Hona, "I don't mind a bit. This young lady is quite charming," he added with a smirk. This girl's energy could be the perfect camoflauge.
Hona glared at him coldly and said, "Really, I assure you sir, she shouldn't be in here." Kayla twisted in her seat and glared at Hona, "I have as much right to be in here as you do!" Hona's face sofened from it's glare into an amused sarcatic angry, "Do not... little girl." with a cry of outrage, Kayla jumped up and tryed to hit Hona but as Hona blocked each fist, she fell back in her chair laughing. They both knew that Hona wouldn't try to remove her from the bar. Kayla said to Hona, "I've told you a million times, don't call me a little girl!" Turning back to Alex she smiled, "So what's your middle name?" She asked as if Hona hadn't interupted them.
((Sorry if my posts get really long, Hona and Kayla will be interacting a lot, and Kayla always has a lot of things to say :) ))
Travis blinked in surprise at the little girl. Not a lot surprised him, but this did. This kid was what, eight? "Sisters?" He asked both the girls together.
