"Can you tell me one in particular?" replied Stella.
Eddie shrugged with a sigh. "I'll just go down into the storage cellar and get some salt. Just clean up." He said gruffly.
Stella sighed. "Yes sir." She walked over to the large sink and began to wash pots and pans.
Eddie grumbled as he started the walk down the the storage cellar. He hated the storage cellar, it was so dark and alone...
Of course, he would never in a million years admit that going down into the cellar made him nervous.
Aria started to go to the kitchen, not knowing that someone else had been assigned as scullery maid. She got to the kitchen, then jolted and blinked when she saw the stranger there. Washing pots and pans.
Stella heard someone behind her and, assuming it was the chef, asked, "So, did you get it?"
Aria blinked more, trying to comprehend what she had said. Silently, she moved to get the broom to sweep up the kitchen floor in silence.
India got up, Mrs. johnson still had come so India decided to go see Eddie. She padded down the hall softly, her feet were bare. India walked with a limp because of JIA. She had on a sailor type suit with a little skirt that barely went to her knees and tank top style top that had three buttons and a peter-pan collar with a sailor neckerchief.
India came to the kitchen door and pushing it open stepped inside. Eddie wasn't there though. India looked at the strange new maid.
Savannah finished with Leo's wing of the house and went to the kitchen, she needed to set the table for supper. Savannah looked at the new maid with disgust. She hated new workers you ha dto break in, they usually quit becuase they found it too weird to work here.
Savannah walked past India and grabbed a stack of dishes to set the table with. She didn't even say hi to the new maid as s he walked out a superior air about her, only nodding to India respectfully.
Aria cleaned the floor quietly, staring at the floor. Her heart beat faster, out of fear. Would they try to talk to her? She didn't want to seem stupid or rude for not answering, or answering wrong.
Eddie quickly came up out of the cellar with the salt, eager to get out of the darkness. He blinked when he saw India.
"Oh hey there.'
Stella turned to seen the other maids and the young girl in the kitchen. "Oh! Um, hello." She greeted, "I thought I heard the chef."
Aria had her bad ear towards the new girl, and she didn't hear her.
India went and climbed up on one of the counters near the stove, sitting down and swinging lightly. She watched thew new maid for a bit more and then looked at Eddie,
"Hey." she siad quietly. India wans't really a talker, but she liked hanging out in the kitchen with him cuase she sometimes got treats of taste tests of things. Plus since Miss Johnson she didn't really want to do her design stuff in case she messed up.
"I made some cookies this morning." Eddie said, coming over to give India an affectionate pat on the head, being very gentle. "Want some?"
India nodded she gav Eddie one of her rare smiles and reached out for the cookie,
"I have to go the doctor's tomorrow." India told Eddie as she heldthe cookie. She took a bit out of it, holding her hand under her mouth the catch the crumbs, she didn't want to make a mess for Aria.
Stella stood at the sink and washed a pan. She wasn't sure if she should speak, so she kept silent.
"Oh that's too bad." Eddie sighed. He worried about this girl, quite a bit. "Do you want me to make you anything special?"
Aria quietly kept cleaning, head lowered.
India nibbled on her cookie more, finishing it off. She wiped her face off and sliding off the counter put the crumbs in her hand in the garbage. She was thinking, she climbed back up on the counter cautiously,
"I like your pasts dishes...the ones with cheeses in them." she suggested. She watched Eddie cook, the enw maid clean and Aria clean. The kitchen door opened and Savannah came in, she grabbed a handful of silverware and napkins, again she nodded to India and left to set the table.
"You got it." Eddie nodded. He started to move around the kitchen, preparing the rest of the meal.
Stella placed the last pot on the dish dryer and wiped her hands dry. She grabbed a rag and a bottle of cleaner, then went to a currently unused counter and began to wipe it clean.
Aria was on the floor in front of counter and she didn't her the girl coming until she was right beside her. She scrambled to scoot to the side quickly.
