"I ask again. What would I have to gain?" Andy asked, stopping and turning to face her.
Sam looked away. "Find my brother."
"We will. We just have to keep searching, and take car of ourselves in the meantime." Andy mumbled, offering his hand to her.
Sam took his hand aprehensively. 'Warm...' She thought.
He kissed her hand. "This is my promise. I will not betray you, so long as my life can be preserved without betraying you."
Sam nodded silently, her eyes softening a bit.
He let go and turned, starting to walk again.
Sam followed, a little closer than before.
There was some food in the store, at least some canned goods that had made it through. The rest of it was...spoiled.
Sam frowned. "Ow long have we been out?"
"I have no idea. Phone's dead. Every clock seems dead. There's no power. A calendar does no good without knowing general facts. Nothing..." Andy sighed. "
Sam frowned and snatched a few reusable bags, filling the bags with cans. "Help me."
Andy nodded, started to gather any food that looked good. he disappeared to another store, coming back with backpacks full of things they might need like first air and such. "bottled water. Is there any here?"
Sam nodded and tugged out a few cases. "We should make a shelter."
"Well there seems to be a building down the street that's still in tact. We can check that it's structurally sound enough to be safe and stay there at least for now." andy told her.
Sam nodded and tossed the water into a cart, setting er bags of food on top. "Sounds good."
He nodded. "Let's go. Want me to push?" Andy offered, gesturing to the cart.
Sam nodded. "Sure..."
Andy started pushing the cart, leading the way to the building he had talked about.
Sam trotted behind, eyes flickering around nervously.
