Braendon read the reply and grinned. He shoved a hat on his head and went downstairs. He was the only one home, so the house was silent except for him. He went to the bookcase that held all of their DVDs and grabbed the anime in question. "Ergo Proxy..." he said, reading the case, "I hope she wasn't lying when she said this was clean."
Leah ran to his house and stopped for a moment to catch her breath. Then she practicaly skipped into his house, just happy for the moment. "Braendon?" She called, "Hey where are you?" Leah walked into the living room and found him by the bookcase.
Braendon turned and smiled. "Got it!" he said, holding up the case, "If it's p.orn, I apologise. Hard to tell with Grace." He put it in the player and let the previews run. "Hey you wanna drink before this starts?" he asked.
Leah turned to Braendon and smiled, then went and sat on the couch, leaving room for him. When he asked if she wanted to drink something Leah said, "Yea sure, whatcha got?"
"Coke, water, or milk," replied Braendon, "Grace used the orange juice as her hang over cure."
Leah smiled. "I'll take a water." She turned to the tv to watch as the preveiws continued.
Braendon went to the kitchen and made two glasses of water. As he was coming back, Grace bursted through the front door, quite audibly. He fell on his face, dropping both the water glasses and the hat on his head. Right in front of Leah. With the hat all the way across the room, the two animal ears atop his head were quite noticable, to say the least. Now the broken glass on the floor was the least of his worries.
Leah was watching the preveiws which were still running. Hearing glass break she turned to look over at Braendon who was on the floor, but her eyes never got to his face. Open mouth, she stared at the animal ears. Slowly she stood up and backed away from him.
Braendon sat up, a bit dazed. He hadn't yet noticed that his hat had flow off. He looked over at Leah and smiled. "It's okay! I'll just get a broom." Grace walked in. "I heard glass bre- oh d***." He looked over. "What?" She pointed to the top of his head.
((The man I mentioned, he is making her bring him someone, and he has givin her a description. Is it okay if now with the ears he matches the description?))
Leah backed up, pressing herself against the wall, staring at him in horror. No... he wouldn't lie his whole life... this is a joke, a sick joke. Leah's eyes were wide and she pressed harder against the wall.
(Hey, what book is this from?)
Braendon smiled nervously and waved his hand. "Uh, it's not what it looks like!" he insisted, giving a nervous laugh, "It's a joke! They're fake ears that Grace glued on my head while I was asleep!" He turned to Grace, "Right?" She smiled and nodded, her expression strained, "Yeah! I was a bit tipsy, and I thought it'd be a hoot!"
Leah pressed herself against the wall. "I've never seen the top of your head before..." Leah said, she was trembling. "This isn't fake is it? You've lied your whole life? Even to me?" She felt a twinge at these words, as they were true for herself too, but she was too busy panicking to pay any attention to the twinge.
((You mean what book is her curse from?))
"N-no!" insisted Braendon, "Grace just glued this dang things on, I swear!"
(Yeah, what book the curse is from. Trying to read more regular books instead of manga all the time.)
((I can't tell you the book, since the curse in the book is basicaly it' whole plot line. Plus there is movie off it which you have proably seen! But I can give you the name once her curse is revealed. and I can give you some suggestions for books if you like. What generas do you like?))
Leah trembled and said quietly, "I don't believe you. What are you?" She wasn't so pressed against the wall now, but she was still trembling.
(Mainly horror, but action and comedies are up there with it.)
"I'm telling you, it's just a joke!" Braendon said. Grace sighed and said, "Why don't you just tell her, man? I tell people on the first date what I am." He wheeled around and replied, "Leave, Grace!" He sighed and said, without looking at Leah, "Do you really want to know?"
((I don't like horror, so I'm not one for that. But I do like action. The Graceling seris is a good one, and so is the Percy Jackson serise. Children of the Lamp is a good seris, maybe a bit hard to get into though. The Girl in the Clockwork Collor is a good book, but it's not the first in the serise, I don't know what the first book is, though read that one first if you can find it.))
Leah shook her head vilonetly. "No... you could be... if I don't know then I won't have to..." She shivered and looked at him painfuly. "Get out of town. Never let me see you again." Tears filled Leah eyes as she spoke, but she stood firm.
(I read the Percy Jackson series a few years back, right before the movie came out, but the rest I've never heard of. I might be able to recomend you some stuff, too. What are you into?)
Braendon looked confused. "Leah, what are you talking about?" He looked at his feet. "I won't hurt you or anything, I promise."
