((Should we skip to the morning or do you have a plan for tonight?))
Leah stood and left the table, going to her room. She thought about the man, and what he was asking of her. Slightly she started to cry.
(Nah, we can skip.)
Braendon's alarm buzzed loudly. "Mmph." he mumbled, slapping around lazily until he found the off switch. He rose slowly and put his feet on the freezing cold floor. He dressed in jeans and a t-shirt and walked downstars. Grace was out cold on the couch in the living room. He sighed and shook his head, then went and made cereal. "Morning." greeted Grace, stretching as she walked into the kitchen. "Uh, why didn't you go home?" he asked, watching her make herself a bowl of cereal. "Because I couldn't bear to part with you," she said, "And Mom thinks I went back to Japan." Brandon sighed. "I don't wanna know why you lied to her, but I gotta go. Since I washed dishes last night, it's your turn today." He jumped up and hurried outside.
Leah jumped out of bed at exactly one mintue before her alarm clock, then sighed sleeply. She hesitantly put on a pair of jeans and teeshirt, biting her lip. I'll do it tomorow... Leah trudged down the steep staircase and lasily into the kitchen. Hurridly she ate breakfast, grabbed her bag, and ran out the door, headded for Braendon's house.
((Is it okay that I have her run to Braendons house?))
(Sure, go ahead.) "Wait!" yelled Grace, "You're hat!" Braendon paused. "Ah, yeah. Can't leave without that!" He ran back to his room and looked around for his ballcap. "Come on..." he groaned, "I know it didn't go far."
(( I meant your hat. :P Sorry, brain's fuzzy.)
((Haha, didn't catch it till you pointed it out :) ))
Leah reached Braendon's house, and stood outside for a second. In a second, she grew impatient and curriously went inside. "Braendon?" She called.
"Just a sec!" Braendon yelled back. Grace poked her head out of the kitchen. "Ah, chick from yesterday." She went back to her breakfast without a peep more. Braendon slid down the bannister of the stairs, ball-cap placed on top of his head. "Let's go!"
Leah jumped when he slid down the banister. "Oh hi!" She smiled at him, then left the room to go outside and waited for him to follow. Don't you forget... soon.... Leah heard his voice in her head and bit her lip, trying to hide it from Braendon.
Braendon ran up behind her and smiled. "Sorry! My hat was hiding under the bed." He saw her worried-looking expression and asked, "Hey, is everything alright?"
Leah smiled though it was obviously faked. "Yea I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?" She lied. The man was still donimating her thoughts. Leah stared at the ground, trying to hide her fearful eyes.
Braendon sighed. "Come on, Leah. I can tell something's up." He put his hands on her shoulders. "You can tell me. I won't tell anyone, 'kay?"
Leah stared at the ground, her hands quivering. She bit her lip and her whole body started to shake. Her hands flew to her mouth and she tryed to say something but it was stiffled.
Braendon looked down and said sotly, "Okay, you don't have to tell me." He hugged her to his chest and blushed.
Leah sighed with relif and leaned against his chest, forgetting to be embarased. She started to cry into his chest, and said, her words slightly muffled, "I want to tell you, I really do! But it would be dangerous for anyone but my family to know." Leah pulled back, her eyes red showing just how many times she had cryed last night. "I'm sorry." She whispered barely audible.
Braedon smiled softly. "It's okay. Do you need to go home? Rest or something?"
Leah shook her head and turned her back on him for a second, wiping firously at her eyes. When she turned back to him, her blue eyes were only slightly red, looking as if she had a bad night's sleep. "I'm alright. We should go, we'll be late for class."
Braendon sighed. "Okay then." he replied, worry in his eyes. He grinned and said, "I'll take you to do anything you want later if your up for it."
Leah smiled, her cover back on. She appeared happy, as she did every day. "Great! We better go..." Leah didn't move though. Forcing her mind away from current maters, she summoned her corage and started walking.
Braendon followed behind. Something's up, he though to himself, And I wanna know what.
They got to the school entrance quickly, the place was deserted. Leah turned to Braendon, their first periods were different. "Well, uh see you later." Leah turned to go, but quickly turned back and kissed his cheek. Then Leah turned and scrambled off.
