Leah stamped her foot. "Don't you think I've tryed? I've tryed everything and if I could I'd be with you all the time but I can't!" Leah looked down and away from him, "If I hurt you, I could never forgive myself." Leah was trying very hard not to cry.
"There has to be something we can do!" Braendon shouted, "There has to be! I'll try anything, anything at all to release you from your spell. I don't want to lose you."
Leah lurched foward, then ran to Braendon. she grabbed his shoulders and looked him in the eyes. She spoke very quietly, "There is nothing to do. I have tryed everything, and nothing works. You have to let me go."
Braendon put his hand on Leah's shoulders and looked her in the eye. "No," he said firmly, "I am helping you. You can't stop me from trying because I'm too stubborn. Say no and you get an inspirational geek speech from my eavesdropping cousin Grace."
Leah couldn't move back because he had told her to wait. Her eyes flicked back and forth between his eyes then she said very softly, "Would you please, Gavin."
Gavin bit his lip, he was behind the door with Grace. Ussually he would comply and let her out of whatever comand she was stuck in. However... he didn't want to lose Leah. "No!" Gavin called and ran back into the house.
Leah's eyes widened and she said, "Please Braendon, if I hurt you, I - I'd kill myself."
Braendon sighed. "Then I forbid you from ever killing yourself. I'll help you find a way out of this, just trust me."
Leah grimced(sp?). "Braendon... you'll make me competly unhappy? Gah, you're as bad as my dad taking advantage of me." The words were meant to sting, and now she had to trust him, she had to stay.
"Im not that bad!" replied Braendon, "I'm just tryin to help you out here. Now you can move around by the way."
Leah just glard at him then pushed past him into their house. She had never vetured far into their house, she never felt the need. But she ran blindly past the other room and went into an empty room. Curling up in a corner, leah began to cry.
((Feel free to follow her or decide what room she is in :) ))
"Wait!" Braendon yelled after Leah, "Come back!" He ran inside and looked around. "Where'd she go?" he wondered aloud. He heard a door slam shut and he started to look in each room. Not the utility, not the kitchen (where his mother and cousins were drinking something that looked like booze), not the bathroom. Braendon paused when he heard a soft noise. Sobbing? He turned to the next door and pressed his ear against it. It seemed to be coming from inside. "Leah?" he asked, knocking gently on the door. He carefully opened it and saw Leah in the corner of his dad's 'study' (really a luxury man cave). "Leah...Look, I'm really sorry." he said to her softly as he began to walk over to her. He kneeled next to her and added, "Um, if there's anything I can do..."
Leah threw a glare at him. "Yea you could help by letting me live my own life instead of controling it." Leah put her head on her knees trying, but failing, to control her sobs. Once they were finally under control she looked up, stubbornly advoiding Braendon's face and around the room. It was like a man cave and despite herself, Leah let out a giggle at the sight.
Braendon sighed and gave a crooked smile. "Yep, Dad's so called study, but he clocks in more hours of Call of Duty than he does work." He gestured to the framed picture of Laura Croft hanging over the T.V. "See what I mean?" He held his hand out to Leah. "Now I may be controling your life, but I mean the best for you. I know I sound like Hitler or something but I mean it."
Leah hesitated but took his hand and stood. Looking at his hand, she spoke quietly, "I guess... I just try so hard to live my life, and to do the best thing, but then someone goes and messes it up. I guess I'm really not listening to you. I've tryed everything and to no avail have I been able to find anything to break my curse." Leah blinked hard, she would NOT cry.
