He caught it and held her hands around the glass. "Easy now..." Night told her. He guided it up to her lips so she could drink. "It's still wearing off. The water will help."
After downing the cup of water Risa let her hands fall back to her lap. "Where are we?" She asked now that she could speak a little better.
"It's best you don't know. But you're safe here." Night told her. "And you won't be marrying anyone you don't want to."
Suddenly Risa began to cry. She began to think of the things she said to her father before running away. Would he come looking for her after what she had said?
Night winced. "Princess, I thought you'd be happy. You were so upset when you came into your chambers... I thought..." He sighed. "I shall leave you to yourself, I suppose."
"No no. It's not about that. I'm worried about faither. I said some pretty horrible things to him when he announced the arrangement." Risa said trying to hide her face from Night.
Night shook his head. "That evil bas.tard does not deserve your worry." He muttered bitterly. He hated the king.
"And yet he is still my father. I shall worry for him!Even if he deseves it not!" Risa began to raise her voice. It was then that she saw the mirror behind Night and saw her own reflection. There was dirt on her face. She looked like a peasant. "What did you do to me? Why am I all filthy?! I demand that you allow me to clean this off of myself! I am a princess! I shouldn't be looking like a peasent!" She said wiping her cheek to get some of the dirt off. "Why did you do this?" She finally asked calmly.
"Because if I had been seen carrying the princess through the castle unconscious, I would have been arrested and put to death, obviously." Night told her, standing. "Wait here, I'll get you a pail of water and a cloth so you can wash up."
"Are there other clothes for me to change into? You cant have me dressed like this. This is a special dress that was made just for me. Anyone that see's me in it will immidiately know its me." Risa said running her hand down the skirt of her beautiful dark green gown.
He nodded. "Only if you don't mind the simple clothes of a paesant, my lady." Night provided a simple dress for her before unlocking the door and stepping outside to get water from the well.
The dress was simple, yet slightly elegant. Risa quickly changed and immediately felt strange. She was to no longer be the proper princess she had always been. Now she must learn to live a normal life
He returned with the water and a cloth, setting them before her. "Wash up." Night told her. "We'll stay here until their searching for you dies down."
"How are you to know when the search dies down?" Risa asked. "I don't think my father is going to even search for me after what I said to him."
"Trust me, with the stakes on your wedding, he'll search." Night mumbled. "I have a flying friend, Telos, who will deliver messages between me and another friend to provide the information I need."
"You really planned all this out didn't you?" Risa asked around a yawn.
Night nodded. "My life and yours are at risk. I had to be prepared." He said simply, getting a blanket. The shack was rather chilly. "Here, this will keep you warm."
"There is only one bed, and only one blanket. How are you going to keep warm tonight?" Risa asked as she sat down on the slightly large bed.
"I am perfectly fine, my lady. Unlike you, I'm quite ued to sleeping in almost any conditions, even the cold floor." Night explained.
"That's not fair though." Rosa said as she began to lay down. She felt bad that he would be sleeping on the floor. Maybe one day when she got to know him better she would ask if he wanted to share the bed with her.
