((ok thnx XD))
Simon began to feel wary about this whole thing. "You sure we won't get hits sent out on us for doing this? I mean, I want to help and alll, but...you know..."
X replied, "Well, my guys on the inside will tell me if it happens and when to expect it, so then I'll be able to...take care of them." Erin nodded. "Sounds fine to me." Leo's eyes widened even more. "WHAAAAT?!! You're gonna kill them?!" X looked at him, looking quite annoyed. "Well, DUH genius. I just tried to censor myself."
Simon sighed. "At least it doesn't involve me. I'll have to take your word for it that they deserve it. Anything we can do to help?"
X nodded. "Yes, actually. You see, they know me, so if I ask around, they'll think something's up. So you can be in charge of information retrieval. Sound good?" Erin replied, "Yeah, sounds good to me. What about you, Simon?"
"Heck if I know, I'm not a friggin' vigilante," Simon shrugged, 'but if it's between those two options, info retrieval doesn't sound too bad. 'Less you think you got it covered, Erin."
Erin looked over at Leo and asked, "So, do you know where they usually hang out?" Leo thought for a moment, then replied, "The Reinhold Lounge on 4th. Know it?" She nodded. "Yeah, I live in the apartment across the street from it." X smirked. "Nice, a hideout." Erin's eyes grew as big as saucers. "I'm not about to let you guys into my apartment! The only one I know is X and I don't even know her name! For all I know, X stands for Xena Warrior Princess."
" C'mon, Erin," Simon nagged, "You're willing to go on this life-or-death mission, but won't let us in your apartment? Get your priorities straight, girl."
Erin huffed. "FINE! But don't touch anything. Come over at 6:00 tonight, since that's when it gets busy. And dress nicely. The guys in tuxes and X looking like a high class call girl. Got it?" Leo and X nodded.
"Fine, but I'm putting the tux rental as business expenses," Simon huffed. He started out the door, turned around, and said quickly, "See you at 6" before leaving.
Everyone else left and prepared for the infiltration that night. Erin walked home and flopped on her bed. "D*** it." she muttered to herself. She got up and dressed in a low cut crimson maxi dress with a slit up the left side. She straightened her hair and put on make-up with lipstick that matched her dress. After figuring out how to put on her strappy heels and hiding a gun in a leg holster strapped to her hidden leg, it was 5:30. She looked at herself in the mirror. She was actually pretty for once, not boyish. "Let's get this over with." she mumbled.
It took a while for Simon to get his tux--it had been a while since he had bought himself clothes, and he had forgotted what size he was. Finally he found one that didn't look or feel too terrible, and, having nothing else to do, headed over to Erin's apartment. He knocked loudly on her door and yelled, 'Knockety knock knock!"
"Coming!" yelled Erin. She leapt up and strode to the door. "Hey there, Simon." she greeted, trying to smile, "Please come in." She opened the door wider and stepped to the side.
Simon just realized he was sweating. "You as nervous as I am? I mean...this isn't a game anymore, this is freakin' real."
"I got us covered somewhat." replied Erin, lifting her skirt to show her gun. "Luckily I thought to wear shorts under this." Another knock came from the door. "Coming!" she yelled. She pointed to the couch and told Simon, "Sit." She walked to the door and opened it to find X and Leo there. X was dressed like a high class call girl all right. Super short dress and super high heels. Leo was in disguise, wearing a bushy white beard and glasses, but she could tell it was him. "Come in." she said, making way.
Simon sat down like an obedient dog, watching the others come in. He couldn't help feeling underdressed around X, but felt better after seeing Leo's "disguise". Yeah, dressing like Santa Claus woud probably draw attention away from them, he thought sarcastically. "So..what's the plan? Besides going down chimneys to deliver presents."
"Hey, it covers my face and I know who killed my partner. You NEED me, d******." retorted Leo, but he sounded muffled with all the faux hair. "I'll be his 'trophy wife' in this scenario," explained X, "And you can discuss what you want to do." Erin turned to face Simon. "So what do you think?"
"Sounds great. Except for the part where we're in mortal danger, I mean." He straighted his tie dramatically and put his arm around Erin, saying in a sarcastically smooth voice, "So I guess we're partnering up, eh, Hot Stuff?"
Erin sighed. "I'm dreading this already." She picked up Simon's arm and dropped it off her shoulder. "Let's get this over with." They all turned and began to flood out of the apartment.
Simon felt kind of bashful when Erin put his arm over her shoulder. He thought for sure she would shirk away, most girls did. Well, it was just for the mission, he reminded himself as they left the apartment, and soon being close to a girl would be the least of his worries. "Anything we need to know before we go in?" he asked Leo.
"Oh, you already know the high points; they're armed, dangerous, yada yada yada." replied Leo. They walked inside and were immediately hit by the smell of nice cigars and expensive hooch.
