Erin smiled and replied, "Just making sure. Some people say diffently." A knock was heard at the door. "That was quick." she commented, going over and opening it. X stood outside, her black hair cut in a straight bob. "Hi there!" she greeted, British accent thick. She strolled inside and looked over at Simon. "This the sidekick?"
"And after that impressive resume, of course she's British," Simon said sarcastically. "And I'm not taking any offense at the "sidekick" remark. I've found that they oftentimes supercede the "main character." I'm Simon, by the way."
In the background, Erin flipped off Simon. X, her back to Erin, smiled and replied, "Well, I'd say my name, but, you know, the whole vigilante thing makes it kinda risky. On the other hand, Erin," She turned to face Erin, who quickly hid her hand behind her back, "What did you tell him about me?" Erin gave a crooked smile and said, "Only good things; you're a hacker, you know martial arts. Stuff like that."
(Sorry I didn't post sooner! It didn't say you posted a while ago, so I was going to bump it, and then it said you had! Teen Ink's been weird for me today. -_-)
((lol, I'm on less than you are, so if anything I should apologize for making you wait :S))
"And you have feminine charms," joked Simon, determined not to let that go. "Hey, I obviously have no practical value to this mission, so I guess I"m stuck with comedic relief."
X tilted her head. "Feminine charms?" she looked over at Erin. "What's with that?" She looked over at Simon and replied, "An inside joke, I guess. You know, Simon, you can help gather intelligence, plus I can teach you to shoot."
"Shooting? That sounds awfully close to a sport. Intelligence gathering, on the other hand, sounds pretty fun." Simon was actually excited to learn to shoot. At least it would give him something like an edge.
X looked around the room and just noticed the unconcious man on the floor. "Ah, is this what you called me about? Corpse disposal?" Erin's eyes grew and she frantically waved her hand at her. "No no no! He said he was an F.B.I agent that they abandoned and left for dead." she said, looking over at him. "His family was kidnapped and they want his head on a platter, apparently. That was all I got out of him before...'events' transpired."
"Seriously, gals, give me some bearing here," Simon said with laughter in his voice. "Are we attacking or investigating, or what? "Cuz if we go with this guy's plan," he motioned to the man on the floor, "we're going to need a lot of makeup and some slu.tty dresses."
"Well that always works in detective stories." said X, shrugging. Erin looked down at herself. "Yeah, that's gonna work with me." she said sarcastically. X patted her on the back. "Come on, you're a pretty girl." She looked over at her. "That's not what I meant. In heels I'll be taller than most, if not all, of the guys we need to talk to."
"If the girl talk is over," Simon butted in, "I think this guy's family is about to be killed or something. No biggie, though, if you'd rather talk about shoes."
Erin looked over at Simon and retorted, "Listen buddy, if I'm taller than them, they might be intimidated or something and stay away!"
Erin thought for a moment, then added, "Wow, that made me sound like a total b****, didn't it?"
"I don't think you ned to worry about that," Simon said, trying to smile to show that he meant it as a compliment, "I personally find you plenty intimidating already."
Erin sighed. "You're not helping. I can beat a brainless sack of meat six ways to Sunday, but I don't look girly enough for non-abusive information collection." X grinned. "Well, that's good, too." William moaned. Erin walked over and kneeled down beside him. "Wakey wakey, Jack***."
"Speaking, of information gathering," Simon said to X, "Think you can get some more out of this guy? 'Cuz we got almost nothing."
X nodded. Erin helped Leo into the chair. "'Ello, Love." greeted X. Leo looked at her groggily. "Hey there, Hot Stuff." Erin glared at him. "I thought you were married. He looked over at Erin. "Oh, d***." X cleared her throat. "Um, I'm here to help. Now, what organization is trying to kill you?" Leo looked at her and his eyes widened. "Wait, your-" She sighed. "Don't bother trying to arrest me. I'm wearing a diguise, and with your 'trauma', they'll think you're nuts." He grimaced. "Double d***. So, the people who're trying to kill me. It's the Infinity. Do you recognize the name. X's eyes widened. "Know them? I've beem watching them for months! They're into everything: Pros.titu.tion, Burglary, Animal Fighting- you name it, and they do it."
((wait, I thought the guy's name was william?))
Simon sat and listened in awe. He hadn't expected anything remotely like this to happen on his first day here. Maybe finding a lost dog or something. Infinitiy? At least X seemed interested in them, because he was starting to think they would really need her help for this. "So it's turned from saving this one guy's family to taking down a major criminal ring? You sure this isn't biting off a bit more than we can chew?"
(I messed up earlier. His alias was William, but his actual name is Leo. My bad!)
X smirked. "I have a few friends inside. They can tell me if they know if a hit was sent out on this guy."
