"Hey, that makes two of us," Heror said with a nervous chuckle. He looked around. It was quiet. Peaceful. Heror liked the spot he'd chosen.
Claire smiled softly. "This place...it's good." She murmured. "Safe. How does the dragon like it?"
"Same as you do," Heror said, smiling as he glanced down at the dragon. "It's away from everything."
"It's a good place to get away. Galvas will have absolutely no connection to this place." Claire told him.
Heror slid off the dragon, exploring. "I doubt anyone does. Those mountains would be hard to pass without a dragon."
"It'd be hard to find without magic." Claire murmured, looking at the horizon. "There's a barier. This place is...invisible."
"Doesn't look invisible," Heror mumbled excitedly, looking around the lakeshore, placing his hand on a smooth rock.
"Because the dragon and I are both magical. We put out enough aura to include you into it. As long as you stay within, I'm guessing, a mile of either of us, you'll be able to see it instead of baren wasteland."
"So what I'm sensing isn't real right now? Except for you?" Heror asked, genuinely confused.
Claire giggled. "It's real, Heror. It's just...well actually the baren wasteland, or whatever it'd be, is the fake thing."
"I'm not sure if you can look right now, but I think my brain is melting out of my ears," Heror mumbled with a funny smile, even more confused than before.
Claire laughed and walked to him. "We're in a real place. This place is hidden by magic. Only those with magic, or within the aura of a magical being can see it. Others will see something...unappealing."
"Everything I see is appealing," Heror said, eyeing the cloudless blue sky, then smiling at Claire.
Claire nodded. "We're hidden as well." She murmured. It was great luck they'd found such a safe place.
Heror nodded with a smirk. "You can thank me later," he said cheerfully. It was indeed a lucky find. the. whole concept of hidden places still confused him.
"Or now." She kissed him passionately, cupping his cheek in her hand. "I love you. Thank you. This is amazing." She glanced at the dragon. "Both of you are responsible for this."
Heror smiled at the dragon, then kissed Claire on the lips. "I love you, too." He said. "We wouldn't have found this place without your magic."
"I think the dragon alone would have been enough love." Claire mumbled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Yeah, but I couldn't imagine coming here without you," Heror said, kissing Claire and wrapping his arms around her.
Claire smiled against his lips before deepening the kiss. She pressed her body tightly against his, her hand resting on the back of his neck.
