((Sounds like a plan. :) Ah, I think we should savor the cuteness now- because there certainly isn't going to be much in the future! I'm getting so ridiculously excited for all the confessions.))
Erin began to stir when she heard the click of a camera, and then more so when she felt Zeke rejoin her on the mattress. Her sleepy state of mind fled immediately- she was one of those people who just sort of wake up immediately. Every other time, it seemed like a useful trait, but for just this once, Erin wished she could wallow in the soft semi-aware mellow sleepiness.
The warm pastel hues of the dawning morning lit the room and Zeke in a soft glow, accompanied by the crisp sharpness that went in hand with mornings. Erin blinked lazily. Zeke had his eyes closed, and she wondered if he had started falling back asleep.
Absently, Erin tilted her head upwards to give Zeke a kiss on the cheek, but from where she was laying, couldn't reach, so she settled for placing one closer to his jawline. "Good morning Matchstick," she murmered quietly.
Morning. It's the next day. The day of the attack.
All of a sudden, the peaceful tranquil feeling Erin had experienced evaporated. She rolled from her side onto her back and studied the ceiling with a sigh. She looked at Zeke out of the corner of her eyes. "So, did you get your beauty sleep?" She tried teasing casually.
Zeke's eyes fluttered open blearily, lazily grinning down at Erin. The feel of her lips was a very nice feeling to wake up to, and he could get used to it. He let his eyes close again, sighing.
"I got plenty, thank you." He sighed, feeling her move to stare at the ceiling. Zeke peeked an eyes open to catch her staring intently above, as if the Christmas lights (which were now off, and dangling like empty plastic chrystals) held all the answers to the universe. He raised a brow, before smiling mischeviously. Abruptly, he flipped over across her, his weight braced on hers lightly, hipbone pressing down slightly as he held most of his upper body up with his hands directly by her face. It was pretty risky, doing this kind of thing with Erin, who could probably snap his back in half if she was surprised enough. But, he found with Erin, pushing his limits was the funnest thing to do. Even more so as he leaned down, the air of playfulness masking his romantic position.
"I had this amazing dream that this amazing girl became my amazing girlfriend." He emphasized each word with a kiss along her neck. She smelt nice, and at the last word, he reached her lips, the final treasure. And as aburptly as Zeke had stradled her, he acted just as quick when he stood up quickly, quietly laughing to himself.
"Was that too soon? A lot of girls tell m e I act too soon, but," Zeke shrugged, smiling over at her goofily. He had slept in his dress clothes, making him look even more pro.v.a.c.a.t.i.v.e, like a businessman who just got done doing the dirty after a meeting. His green eyes were dancing again, though he did peer over her curiously, a hint of honest concern nestled beneath his lashes."I think you would pefer a guy who likes to be interesting. Or maybe that's just m e."
((I know I should reply for Nissa and Sam... but this is too fun right now. ^^))
Erin immediately tensed with a surprised noise as Zeke moved over her. It was difficult, to ignore the fighting instincts that had been drilled into her since as far as she could remember. Endless sparring, training. And in her world, when someone made a move like this, it was generally their intention to pummel you.
Obviously those weren't Zeke's intentions. She fought her instinct and relaxed, which wasn't that difficult to do really- because it was Zeke. Still, it scarily reminded her of how removed she was from normal. "Sounds like a wonderful dream," she murmured, her skin tingling where Zeke kissed it.
And then almost as soon as he had moved, he was gone, and Erin almost felt like reaching back for him, feeling like she had an empty spot without him. With a sigh, Erin propped herself up on her elbows, looking at Zeke amusedly with a small shake of her head and a smile on her lips.
Zeke looked simultaneously dastardly and dashing, with his rumpled outfit and mischievous grin. Erin felt small in comparison- draped in Zeke's overly large cloths, indigo hair feathered and sticking up, and smeary makeup. How Zeke imagined to look glamorous at the crack of dawn was beyond her.
Erin tilted her chin up. It was both welcome and just the slightest bit disarming how abruptly open Zeke was about everything. He just came out and said what he was thinking. "I do enjoy a good helping of spontaneity in my life," she laughed, "I'm okay with surprises, especially of that variety." Despite the whole initial reaction of wanting to kick him across the room.
[I know right!? They are seriously like, the cutest couple ever! Haha but just for a heads up, I am going to be out of town from 1 tomorrow until Saturday night. It all depends on the hotel's wi-fi, so we're going to have to wait in anticipation for all the confessions. But I just thought I'd let you know :) ]
"I'll make a note of that." Zeke repsonded, smirking as he pointed to his temple. He dropped a wink, before he sigh, his lips turning witsfully in the corners."We need to get back, unfortunately." He held out a hand, the light not lost in his eyes.
Because, for the first time, the anniversary of his mother's death wasn't a day where he would be smiling through the pain. It wasn't a day where he would wake up in a cold sweat, before bolting to the bathroom just to retch up his insides. It wasn't a day to force emotion. And all because of the girl below him, with her curved lips and trilling laugh. His heart seeped to do a little gymastic curve inside his chest, before he couldn't take it anymore. He hastily grabbed both of Erin's hands, pulling her so she was standing, all the while grinning broadly.
"The assembly is today, which means the prank must go on." His eyes twinkled brilliantly, before he seemed to realize that Erin was still dressed in his clothes. The sight alone was enough to make him blush a soft pink, before he glanced over at her dress."Sneaking back won't be difficult, since I know a way to get you back secretly. And please," He set his forefinger on her lip, as if he were shushing her."Save your admiration for this afternoon, Shrimp." He chuckled be he kissed her forehead, and then promptly turned around.
"Alright, change. We don't need any rumors about u s now."Zeke snapped his fingers in a mocking pompous fashion, though you could hear the smile in the request. His optimisim was practically leaking out of his very being, a tangible aura that matched the golden sunrise that painted his back."I could only imagine what anyone would assume, seeing you in my clothes."
((Oh, you cruel person, leaving me with all this anticipation. ;) Haha, okay, thanks for the heads up.))
Erin's heart plummeted to her toes. "Oh, right. The assembly," she mustered an enthusiastic smile for Zeke. It was even more terrible knowing Zeke had his prank planned. Except, instead of laughs and a good time there would be-- Erin didn't want to think about it.
Why haven't you just said something yet? The annoying voice pestered her. Sure, she would be promptly locked up if she warned everyone about the attack, but that was worth preventing the carnage right? But no matter how wonderful and new this week had been, Erin still had six years of complete loyalty to the Phantom ingrained in her. Plus, there remained that she was stark terrified of what would happen if the Phantom found out she double crossed him.
Coward, coward. Okay, maybe she was a coward, but there was something else she was even more ashamed to admit. That she was being selfish. Completely and utterly. Erin wanted to wring out every moment she could have with Zeke- and she figured that once her secret was revealed, the rift between them could quite possibly be irreparable. Every moment in which Zeke loved her was a treasure, and it was reckless and stupid. But that just happened to be Erin's motto.
Even though Zeke's back was turned, Erim stuck out her tongue at him anyways, and shed his comfy clothes, back into her evening dress. "Let them spread rumors," Erin declared, relacing the back of the dress, "That's the fun part."
Erin finished and crossed the small space over where Zeke stood. Automatically from being so close, she reached out for his hand, subconsciously lacing their fingers together. "Okay, impress m e with your secret passages if you don't want rumors."
[I know, the timing isn't the greatest xD But to maybe ease the pain, I shall post for De! :)]
Amedeus awoke to the sound of three sharp knocks on the door. It took him a moment to realize where he was, and once he did, his heart spiked up to his throat.
He was in Tristan's room.
Many thoughts flooded his mind as he quickly stood up. He wasn't even on a bed; rather, his back had a slight crick in it from having fallen asleep hunched over Tristan's desk. The math book that was open had a spot of drool on it, and he hastily wiped the side of his mouth before the knocks continued.
I must have fallen asleep while studying... Amedeus thought to himself as he instinctively shimmered out of view. He didn't know why he was so afraid; after all, it was harmless that he succumbed to exhaustion while studying with Tristan, right? The boy was fast asleep, his expression dreaming as he softly snored. Maybe if De had awoke peacefully, he would have admired the sight of Tristan asleep. But now he swallowed as he peeked through the peephole, his eyes widening fractionally at who he saw.
It was Rose, dressed in her regular attire of brand name clothing with her signature scowl twisted on her face. Her arms were crossed tightly in annoyance, and she scoffed irritably as she stalked off. Amedeus watched her vanish from view, his heart still beating loudly in his chest. Why would she be knocking on Tristan and Zeke's door? To ask something, perhaps? De had an uneasy feeling in stomach, and he made sure he had his notebook tucked neatly inside his coat pocket before he decided to follow Rose.
The good thing about his power was that most of the time, he was like a ghost, hence his nickname. Spying was the easiest to do when you were De, so following Rose was simple. He deliberately avoided walking straight through people, since he had been told they could "feel him passing through", which just made him feel even more creepier than people made him out to be.
She was set on a determined stride alright, and even more confusing, she was making her way down the hall. Amedeus felt as if his heart was loud enough for her to hear him, before she abruptly stopped at James's room. The uneasy feeling in his stomach strengthened into a tight clench.
"James." Rose hissed the boy's name, not even bothering to hide her fury."James, open up this door right now." Amedeus bit his lower lip. It was important more than it was normally to control his emotions. James couldn't know De was there, and if he was feeling anything there was no doubt the boy would smell his emotion. Amedeus gulped, running a hand through his hair as he struggled to feel nothing. It was hard to do, especially with his anxiety beginning to painfully grip his insides, as if he would throw up.
((Ah, my pain has been eased. XD I hope you have fun with whatever you're doing. :))
James had been half asleep when Rose appeared at his door. Cursing under his breath, he struggled out of his bed, undid the lock on his door and opened it enough for his head to peer through. He had slept in his clothes after dragging himself back to his room around three in the morning. He had spent hours on the computers after Rose had left, piecing together information, searching.
His blonde curls were smashed unevenly to one side of his face and sticking up on the other end, and he squinted distastefully at Rose, who looked impeccable in her usual attire, as always. Her fury was spicy hot, like chili peppers, and the sharp eye watering scent woke him up real fast. Blearily, he leaned his head against the door.
"What," he said irritably, unimpressed with her vehemence, "Could you possibly want, Rose. At this time of day." Actually, given three good guesses, James could probably find out easily enough. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together- it probably had something to do with the ammunition he had given her last night. Speaking of which....
James was on high alert. He didn't know how fast Rose had acted in dispensing De's little secret, so he figured it would be prudent to be super paranoid for the time being. James stuck his head out in the hall and looked around suspiciously. For a second, he thought he detected something- a bitter scent, an anxious scent. But between his sleep addled brain and Rose's chili pepper anger, it wasn't distinct enough for him to tell.
It annoyed Nissa to no end that Abreas could get away with such a casual disposition around his father. She knew the Phantom wasn't one to play favorites, but it was quite well known that he tolerated Abreas's actions more so than other. As it was, he cast a collected gaze over to his son, but refrained from saying anything else.
"Yes," Nissa replied, perhaps a little more sharply than necessary-- her temper was still in need of some cooling after Abreas had stoked it-- "Sir," she added, as an automatic afterthought. Inwardly, she cringed. Although she had defended Juliet, Reve, and Sam's capabilities to Abreas, under the Phantom's eye, her choices didn't look so great. Nissa refused to wilt under his critical stare.
Juliet was blessedly quiet for once- but her eyes still looked challenging. Sam had already broken eye contact several times, and was nervously fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. The Phantom looked them over coolly, and Sam got the feeling like he was merchandise or something.
"Interesting," he said after a moment, then put out a beckoning hand. "Reve," he said, even though he hadn't been introduced yet, "would you come here?"
((So, I'm thinking that the Phantom could be this uber powerful telepath, and before he admits new recruits, he does a mental scan of them, to see if they're acceptable, tempermental and power-wise. If you have something else in mind, you can just disregard that last bit. :))
