(( we could start with him burning the book in the fireplace. If you like. Then that would have you starting:) ))
Nicolas held the book in his hands, biting his lip as he stared at it, then into the fire. He hated the idea of destroying a book, especially one that seemed so old. But...he was so curious...
The book was tossed onto the fire.
The pages burned in black ashes. Then started to smoke. Then, the girls sat where the extinguished fire once was.
Nicolas jerked back with a yelp, falling onto his back as he stared in shock.
The brunett blinked, looking at her hands with a tiny whimper of fear. The blonde started to cry silently.
Nicolas backed away even more out of fear, stumbling into another pile of books.
The brunett stood, looking around then moved out of the fireplace. The blonde followed, fearful as the other though she didn't hide it as well.
Nicolas backed away. "Wh-who are you?"
"AnnLee..." The brunet whispered, her voice as soft as velvet.
"LeeAnn." The other breathed.
Nicolas stayed on the floor, shocked, confused, afraid.
They sat on the floor side by side. Now you could see that the one in the blue dress was in a slightly more low cut dress. And the lacing was tighter. Her lips were also a dark, deep blood red while the others had a pinker tint.
"Who are you?" Nicolas asked again, even though they had already given their names.
"You burned our book." LeeAnn stated.
"So tell us who are you?" AnnLee finished.
"My...my name is Nicolas." He said shakily as he got to his feet.
They looked at each other, then to him. Silent.
"I...I am struggling to understand this..." Nicolas managed as he looked from one to the other, bewildered.
"If I may, you are the one to have set us on fire." LeeAnn sighed. "And you fear you don't understand?" AnnLee added.
"Look, I really don't understand." Nicolas backed away even more.
They looked at each other with a sigh. "And you think we do?" They said in union.
"I...I'm not certain at this point..." Nicolas mumbled.
