Reese nodded. "Right, right. Sorry Simon, slipped my mind for a moment." he mumbled, shaking his head in disbelief. "Wow.... A helicopter... Really?" he muttered angrily. They'd only done this a million times before, why was this time so much different from the rest? Realizing he was in the midst of a daydream, he snapped himself out of it. "Hmm? Oh, you mean Tik? Well obviously her names Tik. I met her in an underground lab. She doesn't speak, she uses sign language." Reese readily explained.
"Underground lab?" Simon asked, paranoid again. "What kind of lab?"
Reese frowned for a moment, trying to comprehend what he had witnessed in the lab. "Well, I'm not entirely sure. I found the door underground and some how I got into Tik's room. I don't know what they do there, but they tried to inject me with something..." he explained.
"Inject you?" Simon asked, frowning. "Truth serum? Poison?" He paused, realizing he was asking quite a lot of questions all at once. It was one of his bad habits.
In response to Simon's question, Reese simply furrowed his brow, realizing he wasn't sure what they had tried to inject in him. "Well, I'm not entirely sure what it was. It could've been poisoon, but it could've been something to erase my memory. Tik stopped them before they could inject whatever it was into me."
Tik shook her head as soon as Simon looked over at her and opened his mouth. She wasn't sure what it was either, but they had injected things into her before. A lot of the time it made her feel sick. One time her skin got so dry big flakes of it started to fall off and she got blisters. She didn't know what it had been, but she didn't think Reese would want it.
Simon stared at her for a long moment, as if judging her, then turned back to Reese. "She can stay in Carl's old room. You brought her here, so she's your responsibility. If she turns out to be a danger to us, it's your responsibility." His tone made it clear that, if it came to it, he expected Reese to kill her himself. "Are we clear?"
Reese exhaled deeply, averting his eyes from Simon for a few moments. Finally, he nodded slowly. "Yes, I understand completely." he murmured quietly. Without another word, he motioned to Tik. "C'mon Tik, I'll show you to the bedroom." Before he left, he turned to Simon. "Any plans for tonight?" he asked, somewhat timidly.
