((Waiting for Tessa.))
Jack nodded and ducked below the cover of the rubble. His feet were up against the wall behind him, and here red through a small gap between the rubble and the ground. He couldn't count the number of pairs of feet he saw run by, but there was one thing he knew: it was a lot of guys.
((Waiting on Tessa and Bravo.))
((I don't want to post without Tessa.....don't want to leave her behind.))
Lisa kept careful watch, looking for any signs she would need to start pumping out some bullets. Everyone seemed to be handling themselves pretty well so far, with no serious complications.
Confused by Rowan's sudden instructions, Maxine had hesitated, until she heard the movement of a third party below. A chill ran up her spine as she heard them speak, a voice she recognized but couldn't pin point.
Maxine almost tripped over herself as she ran after Rowan. Her mind was swarming with worries, and before she knew it her face hit Rowan's back
Rowan jerked forward. She glanced back, this girl had obviously never been on a sting before. She started down the hall, signaling for Maxine to follow her. Rowan walked in the direction away from the stairs, they needed to clear the floor.
Rowan came to a locked door, the pther dorrs had been unlocked, easy to get into a clear, she signaled for Maxine to stand to the side of the door as she got ready to kick it in.
(I think I'll have the mission be botched at this point. Nobody gets killed, but a few gunshot wounds.)
As Jared spotted Rowan and Maxine, a few things happened at once. First, he signaled to Jack and stood up, aiming his shotgun at the closest gang member. Second, out of his view, a man silently approached Lisa holding a baseball bat. Third, three men walked up behind Rowan and Maxine and raised their guns. Fourth, Jared watched as a man swung a pipe downwards on Jack's head. And finally, Jared felt a horrible, burning pain in his left shoulder. He wheeled, screaming in rage. Pointing his weapon, Jared pulled the trigger and watched the man blast backwards. Another searing pain in the small of his back, and Jared gave in to the agony and fell into unconciousness.
Jack felt something hit his head, causing pain, but not knocking him out. Because of his helmet. He whirled around, preparing to aim and fire, but the attacker ripped the gun from his hands and hit him with it. Jack blazed with anger, punching the man hard in the face. He started to pull out his combat knife when he felt a... Unique pain in his lower back. He choked a little, and fell to his knees, feeling the hot burn of a bullet in his back. And then the man in front hit him in the face, throwing him backward and knocking Jack unconscious.
Rowan turned around in time to take the butt of a gun to the face, she fell backwards, but managed to stay concious and grab for her knife. She unsheathed it and stood up, her cheek and face throbbing with pain, she charged the guy and felt a stinging pain in her arm, something slammed into her stomach, she groaned, her choice to not wear the bullet proof vest was a serious problem now.
"Rowan!" Maxine shouted, she went to pull her gun, but a hand grabbed a fistful if her mask and hair. She struggled against her attacker, as she felt the mask yanked off of her. "Who's this lovely little creature?" Maxine writhed like a snake in his hold, as she tried to reach for the knife she had tucked behind her belt. "You two have caused an awful lot of trouble. I guess I'm going to have to show you how we deal with troublemakers" he turned to Rowan, pointing a gun at her, "Do you mind being an example? Thanks." Maxine felt the cool metal of the blade in her hand, and drove it quickly into his leg. She pushed herself out of his arms, and drew her gun, turning to face him. "Damn it! you little-" the guy looked up, shocked, "Venus?" Maxine glanced down at Rowan for a moment, "drop your weapons!" The man studied her, "Venus Dicappagio, as I live and breath. I thought you were dead." "I'm an agent of the hound unit-" "You're a snitch!" He shouted, his finger moving to the trigger. "Nicky drop the gun!" Maxine screamed back. Nicky smiled deviously, "So, you do remember me." He shook his head, "Reynaldo is going to be pleased when I bring him back his beloved, traitor of a daughter." No, she was not going back. To that life, to that hole of a world. "No!" She shouted, and her gun went off...
"Rowan!" Maxine shouted, as she moved to pull her gun, a hand grabbed a fistful of her mask and hair. "Who's this beauty?" A voice laughed, pulling the mask from her face.
She struggled against him, and reached for the knife she had tucked into her belt.
"Hey precious, lets not get too carried away." He said, putting a gun to her temple. It was cold, making her skin quiver. The man pressed his face against her hair and inhaled, "You two have caused a lot of trouble today." He looked down at Rowan, and took his gun from Maxine's face, pointing it down at her partner now. "I guess we're going to have to show you how we deal with troublemakers." He smirked, "Thanks for volunteering."
Maxine pulled her knife out slowly, feeling the cold metal in her hand. In a quick movement she drove it into his leg, and wriggled out of his grasp. He grabbed his leg, groaning in agony, "why you little-" he stopped, mouth gaping, "Venus?" She aimed her gun at him, "Drop your weapons!" "Like he.ll! You little snitch!" "I said drop em!" "You're working for the cops now?" He took a step forward. " Step back, Nicky!"
"So you do remember me," he smirked, "You're dreaming, Venus, if you think I'm not dragging you back home with us. Reynaldo will be so pleased to have his little girl back." No, she was not going back there, not to that hole of a life. To be enveloped in blood money and bullets. The guys began to move toward her. "No!" She shouted. Three shots sounded from her gun...
Lisa was completely concentrated on the task at hand when a shadow fell over her. She shook it off as a loud covering the sun, when she realized something important. The shadow was only covering her. Just as she started to turn around a baseball bat came slamming down on to her back. Before she had a chance to scream it came down a third time, hitting her square on the skull.
Rowan stood up as straight as possible, but the gun shots went off, she saw one of the guys who'd attacked them fall, bleeding from the chest.
Rowan drew her hand gun and pointed it at the othe rguys.
((I'll let this play out before moving on to the next part.))
Nicky was dead, or dying. Maxine knew that, and she also knew the bullets that pierced his chest belonged to her. "You shot him!" the second guy, Leo, shouted, "You shot one of your own!"
She didn't hesitate to aim her gun at him, "Drop your weapons," she said, "Unless you want to end up down there with him."
Leo was partially right, she'd grown up with Nicky, never liked him though. She'd always known his pride in being a mob member would bring him right to this point. She'd never thought she'd be the one to do it though, and for that she silently hated herself.
Unfortunately, Maxine was pointing her gun in the wrong direction. From behind came the click of the ignition of a lighter, followed by another click; signifying a gun's hammer being charged. The man sighed behind her, making a tsk sound.
"You never learned to watch yer back, didja?" The man asked.
Maxine spun around, her eyes widened as she recognized the figure that had spoken. "You," She said in shock, her hands were shaking as she still gripped her gun, "Not you.."
Rowan watched the scene, now utterly confused. Maxine had known the dead guy? These mob people knew Maxine? Rowan pointed her gun at the guy who currently had a gun trained on Maxine.
