Once following Rowan, the anxiety got to Maxine. She looked over her shoulder often, as they headed down the alley. "So," she whispered, shaky, "you don't think anyone could spot us here, do you?"
Looking back Rowan shrugged,
"Don't know, they ain't supposed to." she said. They found the power circuts and wires,
"Lets get to work." she said, turning things off and cutting the wires and just making the wpower shut down,
"Get the ladder." she told Maxine as she worked.
Maxine nodded, and did as Rowan asked, grabbing the ladder. Rowan seemed to have already taken care of the power, now to get the ladder to the upper walkways. It was a bit heavy, but she managed to move it to the perfect spot. After it was steady and in position, she stepped back and waited for Rowan to finish.
((Just bumpin. Sorla? You there?))
(I'm back! I returned home from vacation yesterday and all I wanted to do was rest. If Sorla can't post within the next few hours we're gonna have to move on.)
(Dont let this die! We're gonna hafta move on without Sorla...)
Rowan kept to the plan, she headed up the ladder first, drawing her hand gun on the way up, climbing in the widnow she dropped on knee beside the window, put her hand gun away and held her rifle up, she signaled Maxine to climb up as she covered the door of the room theyw ere in and waited.
Once Bailey got back with some grenades, Jack put it in drive and stepped lightly on the gas, making his way down to the warehouse.
"Why wait for Lisa to take out the door guard if we're just going to barge in anyway?" Jack asked Jared, still a bit confused, and just under pressure on his first day.
Lisa took careful aim, putting her sights on the door guard. She gently put her finger on the trigger and....
Bullseye. She watched with satisfaction as the guard fell to the ground, making no signs of movement. That was one man down.
Maxine followed Rowan up, looking down the alley as she did. With no one in sight, she ducked into the room they were stationed in. "We're doing good on time, huh?" Maxine said turning to Rowan, "What's next?"
"Because the door guard would see us barge in. And that would make things less fun." Jared barked, as they came up to the warehouse. Pumping his shotgun, he smashed open the front window of the truck and leaned his gun out of it.
"Speed up!" He ordered Jack, now waiting with anticipation.
Rowan heard the door down stairs break diwn and she signaled Maxine to follow her, they had to clear the top floor. Rowan stepped out into the hall and faced one way pointing her gun, she looked both ways down the hall then stepped to the left side and waoted fr Maxine.
Jack did as he was told, and stepped firmly on the gas. The pedal was touchy, throwing him backwards into the seat as the truck screamed forward. Straight for the door. In a few seconds, the truck barged through the front door, and opened up the entrance. "I might've just ran over the dead door guard," Jack muttered, leaning out the door and looking back.
Jared looked up to see the faces of a dozen men and the click of a dozen weapons as the guards noticed that Jack had just driven through the wall to their storehouse. Widening his eyes, he grabbed Jack by the vest and shoved him out of the vehicle to the crates next to the door. As bullets began to rip apart the inside of the truck, Jared did the same. A second later, and both of them might have been red stains on the seats. Jared quickly crawled to a thick beam, large enough to cover his whole body, and stood. Popping out, he fired his weapon into the chest of an approaching gang member. The man launched backwards from the force of the shot and lay still.
Then looking at Jack, Jared signaled him to move left and around the four men that broke off the main group and were now advancing.
Jack nodded, ducking down so he was undetected and slipping past the group of four. He then ducked down behind a piece of rubble, pulled up, and mowed down the group of four from behind with one clip. The main group was now down to seven.
Jared wheeled his head around the top floor, looking for any sign of Maxine and Rowan before ducking low and running to the next beam. Looking at Jack, Jared signaled for him to stay put. He could hear the ehcoes of the other men searching for the intruders.
Jack nodded and ducked below the cover of the rubble. His feet were up against the wall behind him, and here red through a small gap between the rubble and the ground. He couldn't count the number of pairs of feet he saw run by, but there was one thing he knew: it was a lot of guys.
((Waiting on Tessa and Bravo.))
