Procutteus turned when his shadow disappeared in front of him. Kerli was gone. In her place was the flower. Procutteus took a small deep breath and turned again, jogging back to camp. He looked around and found Camden. "Camden," he said quietly, shaking his arm, still a bit shocked at what had happened. "We found the flower."
(( Fine by me Ryter!! I'll be excited to read it :D ))
Epoline was still sleeping soundly under her blanket, the night time chill leaving goosebumps on her arms and legs.
Camden jolted awake screaming. not because of Procutteus, but because of the nightmare he had had of his dead sister. "What flower!?" he cried out, then immediately he put his hand to his mouth, realizing he might have just woken up the entire group.
Procutteus put his hands out, shushing Camden, then looked around. The shout hadn't appeared to have woken anyone. He motioned for Camden to stand up.
"The flower," he said. "Come on."
He led Camden to the flower, waiting for him to respond.
Camden nervously followed Procutteus. As they exited their camp, he noticed Kerli's blanket was lifeless and empty. "W-where's Kerli?" he asked in a timid and squeaky voice. It was then that he saw the flower. The flower they had been striving for this entire journey. "D-d-did we d-do it? C-can we bring this b-b-back to the princess?" he asked excitement beginning to peek through his nervous tone.
Procutteus nodded, then motioned to the flower. "Kerli says thank you, by the way," he said. Now the main task at hand was to get the flower preserved and back to the kingdom.
Camden felt a few teardrops trickle down his face. "S-so that's just it? She's just gone now? Just like that?" he whispered through tears. He moved towards the flower, examining it carefully. He had never been in the presence of something so powerful.
Eponine began to stir out of her sound sleep. Now awake, she realized three people were missing from their sleeping spots.
Bink awoke suddenly, unsure of the reason. He looked at Epoline, and then to the empty blankets she eyed. Quietly he got up and stepped over a few people to reach her. "Where are Procutteus, Kerli, and Camden?" he whispered. Noticing the lack of light, he added, "What happened to the sun-thing?"
Epoline looked up at Bink. "I-I don't know." she whispered, suddenly afraid at loss of the light. She hadn't spoken to Bink since their discussion back at the clearing. "I don't like that the light is gone. That can't be a good sign, do you think it attacked them?" she asked shakily. They were down 3 people, three essential people to this journey.
"Why only them? And even if it did, don't you think we'd wake up because it got brighter?" Bink said. "If they don't come back, who will lead us?" He looked around the camp at the meat-heads that surrounded them. They were just muscle men, doing what they're told, not leaders.
Epoline shook her head in despair. "I don't know." she whispered. She truly had no clue if anyone left in this group would be fit to be leader. Perhaps her or Bink could do it, but it would be hard for the rest of the group to accept either of them as leader. Everyone had grown so accustomed to Kerli and Edron, that they wouldn't be too pleased if someone else took over. "I just hope they come back soon." she whispered, looking off into the distance.
((Bump. b-ballplaya please come back :'( )))
(( I know! :( Come back we need you!!!))
