Al sighed and looked out her window. Those things were approaching closer. "It seems like they've surrounded the house... And I don't believe they're friendly either." He sighed deeply, trying to think. "What do we do? If those things are real then our 'powers' have to be to, right? So then how does it work?" Al tapped his arm where the Dana put the drawings but nothing happened and he frowned.
Cali looked at Al for a second before shrugging. “No clue but I don’t have time to find out… if those things ruin the house then my parents are going to kill me!” She ran into her brothers room and grabbed an aluminum baseball bat from the closet before pulling on her tennis shoes and making her way downstairs to the front door.
"Oh, because those things won't kill us first!" Al said sarcastically before rolling his eyes and following Cali. He grabbed the biggest pan with the longest handle from the kitchen and walked to the front door where Cali was. "Okay, so, do we have a plan or are we just going to beat them senseless and run for our lives?" He asked.
Cali smiled at Al, “I’m not running anywhere, Al. I’m also not planning on dying anytime soon. We’ve always wanted an adventure and now we’ve got one. So we’re going to be brave and show no mercy…” She turned to the door and twisted the handle. “We need to make it to the garage… that’s our goal at the moment. Ready?”
Al was about to protest when he heard a window from the kitchen break. "Alright! Ready!" He said quickly and pushed Cali through the door and out the house. The creatures near the front of the house stopped walking and stared at the two teens. "Right~ Let's go!" Al said taking off towards the garage with Cali, and the creatures took this as their cue to charge.
Cali swung the bat hard at a creature that got to close as she ran towards the garage. She hit another and heard a loud snap. This was pretty much what occurred the whole way to the garage. She cracked the bat down over one of the creatures heads and kicked at another one before opening the garage door and pulling Al inside. She braced herself against the door, trying to shut it, once she did she turned to Al. She glanced over at a large case in the corner when a something hard hit the wall… they were trying to break through the wooden boards. “Al, gun case, over there!” This is what she had come in here for, she knew her dad had guns that he used when he went hunting and she also knew the combination to the gun cabinet. “ 25-05-15. Get the guns while I distract them…” She said before slipping out the door. The creatures automatically turned their attention to her, she twirled the bat over her hand before gripping it tightly.
Al quickly made his way to the gun cabinet and tried his best to punch in the correct numbers despite his trembling fingers. Once he got it to unlock, he opened it and grabbed a few guns plus ammo then ran out of the garage and saw the creatures circling Cali and blocking anyway for him to get to her. He tried to shoot them with one of the guns but since he never learned how to use one it dramatically missed and caused several black heads to turn in his direction. Cursing underneath his breath, Al threw a gun to where Cali was. "Here!" he called, at least he was good throw. He took off running to the other side of the garage with some of the things following him.
Cali was relieved to see Al with the guns and caught the one he threw to her easily. She dropped the bat and started firing off bullets, she was happy that her dad had taught her how to use the thing and was accurate to a certain extent, though with the amount of creatures around her it was pretty hard to miss.
Al tried again with the gun and shot a creature in the head and barely grazing another. He mentally patted himself on the back as he ran again because the creatures continued to chase him down. When he reached the other side of the garage he noticed one of the creatures that climbed on top was growling at him. "Oh woah!" Al exclaimed trying to run back but he tripped over his feet and fell instead. The creature jumped down and hovered over him. Al didn't have enough time to shoot the gun so instead he used it to keep the ugly beast's mouth away from him.
Cali had just rounded the corner in time to see the creature jump at Al, she shot it in the head, sending the thing falling to the side of Al. She ran over to him and helped him up as creatures surrounded them, they were now trapped, backed up against the garage wall. Cali shot at the things repeatedly, at the next shot her gun clicked… “Dangit! I’m out of ammo…” She mumbled and swung the gun like a bat, swatting at a thing that had started to crawl up her leg. One of the creatures caught her off guard and knocked the gun out of her hand, sending it flying to far for her to reach.
"Well. We're goners," Al said half-trying to be funny and half being serious as he kicked one of the evil creatures away. "You know~ It'd be really nice if our powers activated right now." He kicked another creature only to have one jump on his leg. The sudden clingyness frigthened him that he ended up muttering something in a different language he didn't even know he knew. And the creature on his leg made a hissing noise as it plopped to the floor and shriveled up. Al glanced at Cali. "What just happened?"
Cali stared at the creature in shock, she looked up at Al and blinked a few times. “I think you just activated your powers…” she said, jumping with a small scream when a creature jumped on her back, she slammed her back up against the wall and the creature fell off with a yelp, she kicked it into another creature.
((I know I said I wouldn't disappear without notice again ^^' Sorry))
"Okay, umm... Well I still don't know how I did that," Al muttered and kicked a creature and sent it flying to the back then another one crawled up to him. "These things are really annoying," he growled and kicked that one too.
Cali nodded in agreement, “You were speaking in some kind of weird backwards language…” She told him, the creatures were starting to diminish in numbers now. She had just opened her mouth to say something when she heard a huge crash come from the house. She looked over at Al and ignored the surrounding creatures as she ran back towards the house.
"H-hey! Wait! Don't just leave me here with these things!" Al called out, chasing after Cali. Some kind of backwards language, huh, he thought. Was it the same language Dana used when she scribbled on their arms?
Cali hurried into the house and heard some noise upstairs. She ran up the stairs and looked in every room before finally checking her room. Once she pushed the door open she saw a tall figure standing in the middle of her room… it was a man looking to be in about his early thirties, black hair, pale skin, black clothing. He looked over at her and her breath stuck in her throat when she saw his eyes… they were blood red! She went to take a step back but instead ended up taking a step forward… towards the weird creepy, probably dangerous guy… smooth.
"Hey Cali!" Al yelled, running into the house. He checked all around downstairs for her then ran up the stairs and found her in her room. "There you are! What the heck happened? What was that crash-... just now?" As Al neared his friend he saw her approaching the tall creepy man. Al grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "What are you trying to do?" He said in a low growl near her ear. Was this girl out of her mind?!
Cali had heard Al but not the words he was speaking, as if in a daze. When he yanked her back she snapped out of it and blushed fiercely, in truth she had no idea what she had been doing. “I… uhm…” the man grinned at them, showing all his teeth before taking a tentative step towards Cali’s bed… moving towards the bedside table… where the spell was…
Al glared at the man then gasped when he noticed where the guy was heading to. Al picked up the nearest item, which was one of Cali's books, and threw it at the man. The man simply turned and waved his hand and the book turned to black smoke. Al growled and grabbed one of Cali's blankets and threw that at the man. Chuckling, the man did the same thing he did to the book, not knowing Al was using it to blind him while he dived for the nightstand and grabbed the envelope inside. "Cali!" Al yelled, gliding the spell across the floor to her.
