"Yeah!" Arianna added.
Hans's imagination was going wild with him, A bunny? Is that some kind of code? Amurder weapon?! Hans took a deep breath, Of corse its not code, what are you thinking/ Hans pushed his glasses back up his nose and said, "Um, n-no it's okay. W - why are we here?" Hans asked nervously.
"Aww, that's too bad," Cater said a bit disappointed. He loved his bunny. He even considered it as a member of the club. "If you change your mind she's in the other room," he said pointing to the only room in that apartment. "Okay!" he clapped, changing his disappointed demeanor into his usual cheerful one. "The reason we've brought you here is because we both know you two are special like us." He grabbed Mari to stand next to him but she obviously did not want the center of attention. "Have you guys ever realized something was different about your eyes or the way people saw from other people?" He wanted to see if they were aware of their own abilities before he continued.
Hans pushed his glasses up his nose, the back of his brain still searching for murders and murder weapons. In responce to the eyes question, Hans looked down. He knew his eyes were weird, people would stare at them, yet avoid him if they didn't see his eyes. But why would he be here because of his eyes? "Uh... Y-yea, p-people stare at them, w-what are you getting at?" Hans gulped hopeing the question hadn't made him angry.
Arianna giggled at Hans response then focused her eyes back to Cater. "Of course I've noticed my own gift! My gift is what makes everyone believe I'm not living alone." Said Arianna with a quick wink to Cater.
"They stare because your eyes are attractive, Hans," Cater said smiling and Mari nodded in agreement. He looked at Arianna surprised. So she did know. That just made his life easier. "That is correct," he said, giving her a praising smile. Then he moved on to Hans question. "What I'm getting at is we all something in common besides the abilities and it deals with sight. Whether it be our sight or the people who look at us sights. For example, as Arianna said, the people around her don't know she's living alone. That is because we classified her as a deciever. Uhh... Mari would you like to continue it?" he asked. Mari shook her head violently, knowing what he was trying to do. "Umm... okay..." Cater mumbled. He decided to leave out the whole "stalking" bit out. "So... great I lost my place. Oh yeah! Hans your ability is nullifaction. Or at least that's what we believe. We'd still like to try something out to see if it's true," he said looking at Mari. "And... I'm drawing a blank so any questions?" He asked with a nervous smile.
"So...you called us here so we can be the Teen Titans?" Arianna asked.
"Um, no? We're not fighting crime if that's what you're asking," Cater said. "I-It's an ordinary c-club. Y-You know how clubs have m-members who are s-similar to each other? We thought we'd do the same thing b-based on our abilities. But... But w-we do have a few goals we hope to achieve..." Mari added.
Arianna pulled out her phone and looked at the time. "Darn! " Said Arianna shaking her head full of curls. "I gotta go! I forgot a social worker was stopping by my house today!"
"W-what?! Y-you have to leave right now?" Mari asked, looking a bit upset. She turned to Cater who just shrugged his shoulders at her. If the girl had to go somewhere, he won't stop her. Mari glanced back at Arianna. "You'll... come back, right?" She asked.
"Yeah I just can't let them take me away from my home. But I'll try to be back if not here's my number." She said handing Cater a small piece of paper. Arianna then walked silently out the door.
Hans watched the girl leave and he pushed his glasses up his nose. Great, with her gone, now they'll focus their attention on me! Hans's nervousness doubled and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Null - Nullifunction?" Hans asked, he as so confused. "Uh, try something? W-what are you going to do ?" Hans left out to me. "And w-what are you t-talking about?"
Cater gratefully took the piece of paper and stuck in his pocket then waved at Arianna as she left. Mari just watched her go a bit sadden. "You see Hans, when I first saw you, you happened to see me too when you weren't technically supposed," Cater said, finally looking at him. He noticed from previous reactions he had to choose his words wisely. "Let me clarify that. My ability is making my presence go unnoticed. Mari and I call it a detraction. To the people observing that's just like me disappearing but... You saw me when I was using my ability. Like your eyes are unphased by my ability. Think of it like a force field. That being said, it was only my ability that could not phase you. We're not sure if it works with the others as well so we'd like to see and try. You won't get hurt. As far as we know, our abilities have no, I guess you could say, 'offensive properties'. We've already tried them on each other."
Hans cleared his throat. It seemed okay, and if they had tried them on themselfs already... "O-okay." Hans said and pushed his glasses up his nose.
((Sorry for lenght! Hans seems to push his glasses up his nose like every post! Mabey I should stop that... XD))
((It's okay XD And I don't mind. It's a part of his character))
Cater had a big grin. "Oh! So you'll try?" He asked a bit too excitedly. He glanced at Mari who seemed to be staring at the floor. "Okay, so you see Mari here. Her ability is to turn people into 'stone'. No not real stone so don't be afraid," he gave a small nervous laugh, hoping he wasn't scaring the poor guy. "They just freeze temporarily and viola! That's it. It only lasts a few minutes but I doubt you'd need to worry since you have the nullification ability." He gave Mari a pat on the back and Hans a smile. Mari felt a drop of sweat roll down the side of her head. She was afraid that Hans might be scared of her gift, or what she calls a curse.
Hans took a small step back, scarred. He took a deep breath. He said that it wouldn't be permant, nor would it work on him. What if he is wrong? Hans gulped and said in a small voice, "What if you're wrong?"
"Mari has done it to me many times and I've never froze permenatly," Cater said gesturing that he can still move. Mari flinched because now Cater was making her sound like the bad huy.
Hans glanced at the girl, and she seemed nervous too. Well, if she's nervous too then at least she's not trying to freeze me, or turn me to stone or what not. They really don't think I will. Hans took a deep breath and stepped foward pushing his glasses up his nose. "Lets try."
Mari and Cater looked at Hans surprised. "Alright! Then, Mari," Cater said, looking at her. Mari blinked a few times before nervously taking off her glasses. She kept her eyes low then gradually raised them to look at Hans. Oh, she hoped this worked. "Can you move, Hans?" Cater asked.
Hans was confused. What was that soposed to do? "Um, y-yes." Hans raised his arm to prove it. He had been expecting a little bit more. "That was soposed to turn me to stone?"
