Dylan found himself backing away from the overexcited girl, without meaning to.
Jo squeaked in his arms, afraid. She curled up in a little ball against his chest.
Amy backed off right away. "Oh I'm sorry, but you really do need to sit down. You look so tired!!!" Amy went over to Kayley and looked up at her pleadingly. "We do have water right?" Amy bit her lip and glanced at the man behind her.
Kayley, who'd taken a few steps away from the pair keeping a safe distance. It took her a moment to realize everything that'd just happened. "Uh... Yeah, sit down and I'll see if I can find anything to drink. Girls, stay with me," her voice quivered as she reached for the overexcited girls. When she'd met the girls, they were just harmless scared children. This was different. This was a full grown man and she wasn't sure how to protect herself and the children if he should be dangerous. She grabbed the girls by the hands and dragged them behind her to the kitchen. When they were safely away, Kayley turned to them. "Please girls, keep a safe distance from the man and child until I've spoken with him. We have no idea how dangerous he could be, and as of right now, I am responsible for your safety. Do you understand?" She looked at the girls sternly and grabbed some fruit cups. "Do you understand?" she repeated.
Amy squirmed. She hated lying yet it wasn't like she could just stay away from them, they were so tired and obviously harmless. "But why can't we be friendly?! They don't seem to want any harm to us." Amy cried out. She bit her lip because in the back of her mind she knew Kayley was right.
((Whoops! Forgot I was doing Keirnan till the 8th))
Keirnan nodded but fidgeted a little bit. Why they seem so harmless and very tired. She listened as Amy asked why and Keirnan agreed.
((Guys, I'm going on vacation tomorrow until friday next week. Can we pause for a while?))
"Girls," Kayley said getting down on one knee, "I have no doubt in my mind that they are good people, but if God fobid they aren't, I want you girls to have a chance. Stay here," she said getting up and walking back to the living room. "We have no water, but we have fruit cups. You can drkin the juice. Where are you from?"
((Okay :) ))
((I know its paused for awhile, but just bumping so its not lost!))
((Bumping! I might not be able to get on as much (I know it's paused but I'm still telling you guys anyway) because I'm also on vacation.))
(Anyroom for others?)
((Okay :), and you'll have to wait for Ryter, she/he should be back today or tomorow. I believe you can join though.))
((I'm back! ThesecretRPer please join! There is always room for more people!))
Amy figitted in the small kitchen. She didn't want to be in here, she wanted to go out and help! She sighed, then turned to Keirnan. "Lets just peek into the room."
Keirnan bit her lip and nodded. They walked foward and peered into the next room.
"I'm Dylan. This is my daughter Jo." Dylan practically whispered. "We've been running from the infected for a while. I....They...M-my wife was infected..." For a moment, Dylan seemed like he would break. Instead, he held Jo's little form tighter.
Kayley sat in the chair across from the duo. She watched as they ate the fruit cups. She sympathized with the man. "Would you like to rest? The girls in the other room would like to say hello, but I think you should rest first. They are very bubbly and have a lot of energy."
"Rest sounds like it would be good now." Dylan whispered, closing his eyes for an instant. He could still see her eyes...
His eyes snapped open.
Jo made a tiny noise from where she was huddled against his chest.
"Let me gather some pillows and blankets for you to get more comfortable," Kayley said quietly. She could tell this man was disturbed by his past, because she recognized it in herself. She walked to the kitchen. "Girls, come with me to get some pillows and blankets."
Westly rummaged through the cabinets of the mobile home. He found little. A small bottle barely half full of water, and some sardines. "This is better that what we found at the last house, eh Addam!" he laughed heartily. "Eat up boy!" he said picking up a sardine and slipping it into his mouth in its entirety. He licked the slime from his lips and burped loudly.
"You don't have to do that." Dylan whispered quietly. "You've already done so much."
"Right!" Amy and Keirnan said together, perhaps a little too quickly for two girls who weren't soposed to have heard the conversation. The pair ran foward and Amy slowed down a little so that Keirnan with her eneven legs wouldn't fall behind. Amy asked, "Um, where are the pillows and blankets?"
((Sorry guys, I'm going to drop out of this one. I've just completely lost track of where everything is and I think it would just be easier for me to drop out.))
