Name: Keirnan Wiles
Appearance: Keirnan is a small girl, very small in fact, she was dwarfism and is around 2'5" tall, she probably won't grow that much more. She has a very slight figure, making her looks years younger than she actually is. Her skin is a warm golden brown, she has scars on her back and on the backs of her legs and arms.
Her figure is so slight because she malnourished, it isn't days to get food these days after all. Her legs and arms are rather stubby looking and disproportionate, her left arm being longer than her right and her right leg being shorter that her left, this make her have an odd limping walk because her legs aren't the same length and make her look lopsided, her limps are this way because her right side didn't develop correctly when she was a baby. Her right hand also has tiny half fingers, she only has one joint in all her fingers except her thumb, which has no joint.
Keirnan has dark hazel-ish eyes that are shaped like a wide almond, her right eye is thinner and more squinty more than her left, adding to her lopsided look. She has a rather flat looking button nose on her face and has an ever present bright smile showing her not-so straight teeth. Her teeth are slightly crooked, she missing her two front teeth(which she is very proud of), and a few of her teeth have chips in them.
Her hair is a very dark brown and wavy, it's in a short cut that's in a long pixie cut, it hangs over her ears and almost touches the base of her ears, it hangs around her neck a bit and is raggedy and abit spikey because it's dirty.
Clothes: Keirnan wears raggedy jean shorts and a plain dingy t-shirt. On her feet are sneakers that are beat up, their black, white, and pink and light up sometimes. They use dto light up all the time, but now they only light up now and then if she hits them espeically hard.
Bio: Keirnan's mother had the disease when she was pregn.ant with Keirnan, which may have been one of the factors in Kerinan's condition and the fact that she was really premature. Her mother died shortly after Keirnan was born because of the disease. Her father hated it that Keirnan had survived and her mother hadn't. He mistreated Keirnan, when Keirnan was 5 he too got the diease and went insane, he died and orphaned Keirnan when she was 6 years old.
Keirnan lives in the streets now and now and then will be in an orphanage for a time but runs away form them because she never gets adopted. She's a rather cheerful girl given her past and she really wants to be a track star or a rugby player one day, though people laugh at her when she tells them that.
Keirnan ran, or what she called running, it was more of a limp because her legs were so different hieghts it was diificult to run. She running because she saw others running and she sensed danger. her breath came in quick sharp pants and her arms swung as she trie dto keep her balance during her unbalanced awkward run.
Kayley had to get out of the house. She needed food. She walked carefully and silently down the hall passed three open doors and one closed. As she passed the closed door, she turned to it and whispered her apology. She walked to the kitchen where from the windowsill she took a picture out of it's frame and folded it. She kissed it and then put it in her pocket. She took a better grasp on the fire poker and walked to the door.
((Sure no prooblem :) She sounds a lot like Amy, they look like they'll be good frineds!))
Amy ran past a very small girl who was having such trouble. Looking over her shoulder Amy saw that the girl was lopsided and crooked all over. Amy ran back and put her arm around the girl, running with her. "Common, we gota run faster!"
Keirnan looked up at the girl who was trying to help her, Keirnan was never good at telling age, but if she had to take a guess she'd say the girl was in the 10-12 range. She grinned widely at her, Kiernan rarely met children who actually wante dto eba round her, much less help her. And this girl had ven been smart enough to go on her short side.
"Than's!" Keirnan said happily, she started moving slightly faster with this new girl's help.
Amy grined right back at her, finaly someone who wasn't always so serious! Amy's breathing grew heavier as she ran but she kept with it. "So whats your name?" Amy asked happily. "And do you have any idea why we are running? I certainly don't."
Kayley pulled the door open slightly hoping the creaking wouldn't arouse a hoard of them. She slipped out and stalked down the street to the house next door. It was only a few yards away but a single centemeter was the line between normal life, and dead life. She was at the driveway of the house when she heard strange panting. It sounded like panting from laughing hyenas. Kayley turned around to see three large figures behind her. She let out barely a squeak as she booked it toward the door. Out of the corner of her eye she saw two little dark shadows bumbling their way down the street...
"I'm Keirnan." Keirnan said proudly, she loved her name, she thought it sounded pretty and tough.
"I thin' somethin' bad is back there." Keirnan said, glancing back over her shoulder to see if she could see anything chasing them. Keirnan gasped for breath, it was difficult to run for her and though this girl was making it much esaier it was still hard. Keirnan could tell the ther girl was tiring too,
"Shoul' we hide?" she asked the older-looking girl.
"An' what's your name?" she gasped through her panting.
Amy relised that Keirnan was getting tired. "I'm Amy." She said cheerfuly. "And yes we should. Lets go to that house up there." Amy saw a pair of eyes disappear behind the door.
Kerinan glanced froward again towards the house indicated, she squinted, it looked like there were four figures tehre, three larger forms and one smaller looking one.
"I dunno..." she said, squinting at the figures, it didn't feel safe, those three firgures look menacing,
"Can you see who those peo'le are?" she asked Amy.
Kayley slammed the door shut and locked all the bolts. The bodies swarmed outside the door scratching and screaming for entrance. She worried that she was the only human left alive. The door shook from the pounding but it suddenly stopped. She heard rushed footsteps leave the wooden porch and screaming echoing in the growing distance. She slid to the floor shaking violently and sobbing.
Keirnan stopped when she heard screaming adn scratching ahead, like some people were pounding on a door. The diseased was Keirnan's first thought, it sounded like they were coming this way,
"Amy..." Keirnan said, she galnced around for somewhere to hide so they didn't get hurt.
((TI was being weird earlier, sorry about that))
"Oh no no no no no no no," Jas whispered to herself. "No no no no..."
She whispered it over and over, along with a few other words, into the darkness as she rushed around her apartment, grabbing this and that and flinging it into a backpack. She pulled on clothes and her leather jacket and put on the backpack, then grabbed a loaded gun and a knife. She stuffed extra ammuntion into her jacket pockets.
Her heart was beating way too loud and way too fast but she knew she was fine, she was prepared and she knew how to fight, she needed to get out of the apartment now. The fire escape would be safest.
As quickly as she could manage, she scrambled down the narrow steps and to the street below. There were people running everywhere. Too much noise and confusion.
She picked a direction and started to run.
Dylan hadn't realized he had been crying as he ran until he stopped, unable to go any further. He gasped raggedly for breath, feeling like his lungs were on fire. Jo clung tightly to his shirt, whimpering softly.
Dylan looked around for safety, for shelter, and saw a house.
Amy saw the figures leave. "Common, we have to go!" Amy urged and ran to the door, trying the handle. Bolted. Amy ran to the side and climbed through a window. She waved Keirnan over.
Keirnan stumbled over and reached up, her left hand barely wrapping around the windowsill, she satrte dto struggled and get up, managing to get her right arm on the widnowsill, though her underdeveloped fongers didn't grip very well. She kicked and swung her legs as she struggled to get over teh sill.
Amy grabbed her uper arms and half pulled/half dragged Keirnan over the window sill. They fell over onto the moldy floor, sending up a cloud of dust. Laughing Amy stood up and looked around. "Lets explore!" Amy walked from the room, into the hallway and saw a figure curled up at the end of it.
Keirnan landed on the floor with an 'oof!'. She laugehd when Amy did, and quickly, or quickly for her anyways got to her feet, pausing before walkibng to make sure she had her balance. She walked down the hall towards the curled up figure, the figure was crying adn shaking. Keirnan bumbled over to the woman sitting on the ground and looked at her, she reached out and touched her shoulder,
"What's wrong?" she asked the crying lady.
Amy walked over with Keirnan and crouched down, smiling at the crying woman. "Turn that frown upside down!" Amy frowned and then did a handstand looking quite ridiuculous. Then she fell over backwards and landed with a laugh. Amy jumped up quite proud of herself.
Jas kept running and running, and focused not on where she was going but focusing on running, fast and away from the city. She didn't stop running until she tripped, and sprawled out in the road.
Coughing and panting and lightheaded, she carefully looked up.
This stretch of road was deserted, barren, and dark-except for a few houses in the distance.
Jas struggled to her feet and painstakingly began to walk towards the houses.
