((sure))
I strode onto campus the first day of the new year with a fake smile and a bag full of AP textbooks. Another year of being a braniac. Another year of hiding it too.

Scarlet's first day back at school was refreshing. Every guy wanted to date her and every girl wanted to be her. She passed a girl carrying AP books. "Dork!" Scarlet sneered walking up to her usual group of friends.

((Sorry I haven't been posting.))
Mike sat in his car in the parking lot, smoking a cigarette before class and watching all his classmates as they walked by. Scarlet was looking fine, as usual. The best part about her however was her outlook on dating. She was the love em and leave em type, just like himself, so it worked out perfectly. She didn't expect anything from him, and she could be as dark as him sometimes. The bell rang soon, but as Mike's first class was math, he figured he could afford to be late. The teacher was a pushover, and he sucked at math anyways. Another year, another headache, he thought, propping his feet up on the dashboard.

((It's ok))
The late bell rang and everyone flew to their classes except Scarlet. She always had a reason to be late to pre-calc. She entered the classroom slowly as the teacher had her back to the class. "You're tardy Scarlet! Again!" The teacher said loudly without turning around. "I would like to speak to you after class."
"That won't be necessary" Said Scarlet taking her seat.

By the time Mike got to class, the teacher was distracted by Scarlet's late entrance, and so he slipped into a seat by the door generally unnoticed. Mike liked to remain invisible, because he was weary of people noticing too much. His desk was clear, school supplies usually consisted of a pencil and a notebook filled with random sketches for him. It wasn't that he necessarily considered the subject matter boring, he just had a hard time paying attention.

Micky snuck into her theatre class, slightly late but who cares. The teachers all loved her anyways. She was just that kind of girl.
"Take a seat Micky," Mrs. Gayla called. She sat between the cheerleaders there for fine arts credits and the cool theatre kids who always got the leads. They all greeted her with smiles and giggles, as per usual. She even saw one of the cutest theatre guys give her a wink. Micky smiled back. He was her favorite.

Bored as ever Scarlet tore a piece of paper from her notebook and scribbled onto the paper. She folded it neatly and passed it to the girl sitting beside her and whispered into her ear, then watched as the note was passed onto Mike's desk. She glanced at him with a seductive smile.

Micky's phone beeped as one of her many friends sent her a pic of Scarlet passing a note, followed by one of Mike recieving it with the caption "Looks like a new hook up." Micky forwarded the photo on to several more people. What could she say? She was an incurable gossip.

Mike was broken from his day dream as a note landed on his desk. Mike looked around and saw Scarlet grinning at him. He offered a smile back that didn't quite reach his eyes. He looked at the note and then glanced back at Scarlet. He wrote "4th period, gym" on the back of the paper and crumpled it up, tossing it back across the room to land on her desk. The teacher gave him a chastising look that he returned with a blank and piercing expression that typically left no room for follow up, now was one of these times. Sometimes he felt that adults saw right through him, and he didn't like it, so he just stayed quiet, and stayed out of sight, and hoped for the best.

She glanced quickly at the paper then crumbled it up as the teacher watched, giving her "the look". Scarlet smiled at the fact she disrupted her.
"Miss Ambrose! Since you find it funny to disrupt my class by passing notes, why don't you step outside."
"Gladly." Scarlet chuckled as she grabbed her things. She gave Mike a quick wink as she slipped out into the hall.

"Mickey! You're up."
Mrs. Gayla didn't even bother to comment on the phone in Mickey's hand. She put it down and strolled up to the stage to give her summer monokogue, to inspire incoming theatre students to greatness. As per usual, it was crappy disney channel stuff that she performed impeccably. As soon as it was over, she strolled over to sit by the cutie, Jake.
"Glad that's over," she whispered dramatically.
"It gets worse every year," he agreed.
