"I just know the difference betwenn you in pain and not." Cassy glanced at him.
Amos let that sink in then sighed. He had to do this for her, he couldn't let her see his pain anyymore. Amos thought about how her mom had just blurted out that she was adopted, his fist clenched. "I'm sorry Cassy. About... well everything. Me being a je.rk, your parents, the fact that you felt alone your whole life. I'm sorry."
Cassy grimaced and looked down. "I just want to forget about it." She mumbled, shaking her head.
Amos looked over at her, then hung his head, sighing. There wasn't much he could do for her. Changing the subject he said, "So where are we going?"
"Here." She stopped in front of a small pizza place. "I hope you like Pizza?" Cassy asked, looking over at him.
Amos looked up at the sign above their heads. "Never had it. Lets go in."
"Never had it?!" Cassy was shocked.
Amos looked over at Cassy, startled. "Of corse I've never had it. My food is mainly what I hunt and then the few things I was brought by any officails." Amos looked at her shocked face and his brow crinkled, "Why are you so suprized?"
Cassy shook her head. "No, forget about it. Let's eat." She led him inside and they sat. She got a simple pizza with pepperoni for them to share.
Amos looked around with wide eyes at the place. It was a simple looking place, but to Amos who had never been in a restarunt, it was huge and fancy. When the pizza came Amos took a slice and took a bite. his eyes widened.
Cassy took one and started eating. She paused and smiled at him. "Do you like it?"
A grin split Amos lips. "I love it!"Amos ate the whole slice then sat back, eating no more.
"Come on, have more." Cassy gestured to the pizza. "You get half. We can't let it go to waste."
"No, I'm fine. I never eat much." Amos looked away from the pizza. Truth was he never had enough to eat properly, the one slice was more than he would normaly have. If he ate any more, he probley become sick.
Cassy sighed, eating what she could and getting the rest in a box for the road. "Hopefully you won't mind cold pizza later."
Amos looked at her and smiled. "Corse not."He moved up and went to the door, holding it open for her in gentlemanly way, smiling mischifly.
Cassy kissed his cheek. "We're being followed." She murmured in his ear.
Amos smiled at her kiss, but after her words, it was just for show. He sharpened his earing and heard the slight shift of a shaddow. How did she know..?
Cassy took his hqnd and walked out with him, sticking towhere they'd easily be seen. "There's something different..."
Amos glanced down at her his smile looking like she had just said something funny. "How do you know?" He sounded like he had asked how she knew some crazy fact. His ears and eyes strained though, searching for some clue.
