Percy watched her go with amazment. She wants to do that for me...? We just met! Percy didn't stand up, he was still too tired.
Oasis didn't turn back, and she fled off. She had an acute sense of hearing, and listened to see if she could trace them. Focusing hard, she finally was able to locate them. Alright, here goes nothing! she thought to herself. When she got within a short distance of the government team, she broke down into loud sobs. The government people gave her a strange glance, and precariously came over to her. "Are you alright miss?"
Oasis continued to cry, and wiped away some of the tears. "Its... j-just oohhh" she sobbed.
They began to get annoyed with her. "M'am, we don't have time for this. Is it serious or no?"
Oasis shook her head. "N-no it's just.. this poor little elf!" she cried out.
That sure got their attention. "What elf? Where'd he uh.. it go?"
Oasis sobbed, "Well I was on my daily walk, and I saw him being chased by these dogs, and I tried to go after him to help, but by the time I got there it was too late..... They had eaten most of his remains." she stuttered, and began bawling once more.
The others began to slowly process this information. "Thank you m'am, carry on. We'll make sure he has a proper burial." they spoke sternly, and walked off in the opposite direction of where they thought the dead elf would be.
Oasis grinned as they turned around. YES! She did it! She had to go back and tell Percy.
Percy's breathing settled down to normal, but he was still very, very tired. His eyelids drooping he slumped back against the tree, falling aslepp.
Oasis ran back over to Percy, and shook his shoulders to wake him up. "Percy!! Guess what?? I did it! I threw them off our trail!" she squealed giving him a hug, happiness radiating off of her.
Percy's startled awake at her hug. He smiled at her and said, "Really what did you do?" Percy sat up adjusting his bow and quiver and looked into her eyes.
(( Thanks! :) ))
Oasis looked back into Percy's eyes, they were so entrancing. Shaking her head to break the gaze, she smiled brightly. Slightly out of breath, she said, "I ran into the government people in tears. They asked what was wrong, and I told them you were dead! When they asked where your body was, I pointed in the opposite direction. It'll throw them off for a little while anyways!" she remarked cheerfully, embracing Percy.
Percy hugged her back smiling. "Thanks. Thanks a lot!" Percy pulled back and stood up. "Want to walk with me awhile?" Percy asked Oasis. She did so much for me and I can't offer her anything!
Oasis smiled, "Anything for you!" she exlaimed. In response to his offer, Oasis nodded. "I'd love to go on a walk with you! Beats going back home anyways," she joked.
Percy started to walk with her, his strenght back from his long run. "So why do you want to get away from your family?" Percy asked to make conversation and generaly curious, his whole family had been taken by the desise. Looking at Oasis Percy said, "Oh I'm sorry if you feel thats prying!"
Oasis shook her out and let out a short laugh. "No no, it's fine." she murmured. "You see, my father is the leader of our pack. He expected me to be a strong and powerful banshee, but I didn't meet his expectations. I'm somewhat of an outcast within the group. No one really cares about me, so I mostly stay away from them at all costs. Though my father's power is he can see everything that's going on miles from our camp, though the farther the distance, the blurrier his vision." she told Percy. "Sorry to hear about your family and the disease, that's just plain awful." she whispered softly.
Percy didn't reacte at all to the coment on his kind. "Wait if your dad can see miles from your camp, is it okay for us to be together?" Percy blushed relising what he just said. "I don't mean like together together, like being in each others company." He said acwardly. "He sounds really over protective."
Oasis sighed, "I guess you could say that. He expects to marry me off in a month or so, but it's mostly to get rid of me. " she murmured softly. "It's alright for us to be together.... right now. I think we're far enough away. Plus, I don't even care. He's a disgrace of a father.." Suddenly rain began to pour from the sky. "Even better, rainstorms blur his vision. He'll barely be able to make out our silhouettes now!" she chirped gleefully.
Percy grinned with her, but then thought of the firewood left out at home. Percy relised after a second that they had walked further than he had thought. They were just about to his home. "He's going to marry you off?" Percy asked, he didn't want to pry and tried to hide himself. He did a good job of it, it seemed like an offhand coment. Percy didn't show how much it really bothered him.
"Yeah that's what he said, it may just be an empty threat. I'd prefer not to..." she murmured softly. It bothered her a lot, though she wasn't able to hide it. Attempting to change the subject, she took a glance at her surroundings and said, "Where are we anyways? I don't think I've ever been this far into the forest."
She did a 360 degree spin, taking in the foliage encompassed with an array of dew drops. It was stunning, the part of the forest in which she live couldn't compare to this.
Percy smiled at her spinning. "Elf's are good for the envirionment. I don't know soemthing we do differently. And my home is around the bend." Percy walked foward and emerged into a little camp. ((Tired, I can't think of anything for the camp to look like, you can say what you want about it, as long as it fits: small and pretty!))
A faint sigh escaped from Oasis' lips. Taking in the surroundings of his home, she was in awe. Her mouth was slightly ajar, and her blue eyes were entranced by the exquisite details of the flowers and foliage. The camp was quaint, and flowers and fresh fruits were aligned in the trees. "Percy.... it's beautiful here." she gasped. She went up to a tree, and floated upwards so she could grab a piece of its fresh fruit. Taking a big bite, she chewed and swallowed. Between bites she asked, "What kind of fruit is this? I've never had it before! It's.... delicious!!!" she exclaimed, not thinking that this fruit may be dangerous.
Percy gasped and ran foward. He grabbed the fruit from her hand and threw it as far as he could. "That would be dragon fruit! Lay down, lay down!" Percy layed her down even as she looked at him bewildered. Dragon fruit turns you a dragon youself unless you eat a bit of a dragon scale before its too late. "Stay right there!" Percy ran into the tent he had set up. and rumaged around until he found a scale.
Oasis' eyes widened as Percy pushed her down. She attempted to protest, but she found that she was unable to talk. As Percy was rummaging through this tent, her arms and legs began to flail wildly. It was beyond her control. She was beginning to cough, and her skin began to harden, like scales. The idea of eating an actual dragon scale sounded unappealing, but she was willing to try it. She gasped for air, her hardened skin beginning to turn a light purple.
Percy searched franticaly until he found a green and golden scale. It was old, but would work fine. Breaking off a tiny corner, he ran out of the tent and kneeled down next to her. She was out of her control and he could see her skin hardening. Percy roughy forced her clenched jaw open and put the scale in. He put a hand over her mouth and pinched her nose, forcing her to swallow. As soon as he saw she did, Percy let go.
