Percy stoped as soon as he heard her voice. What is it about her? He wondered, almost afraid of her. He peeked over his shoulder and caught her eyes. He just about gasped as he looked entralled by them. Percy shook himself, he was being foolish. He knew that any friends would be a danger to him.
With a great struggle, Oasis was eventually able to part her eyes from his gaxe. She could feel her heart fluttering, and her breathing growing faster. With a slight squeal, Oasis ran off into the forest again. Once in the cover of the foliage, she peered out from a few leaves. She watched the elf, her heart aching. What was it about him that made him so intriguing? Her eyes were the only thing showing, she wondered if the elf could see her. Ashamed of her irrational behavior, she attempted to clear her thoughts, but to no avail. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get the elf out of her head.
Percy blinked a couple of times and took a deep breath. He continued down towards the arrows and found the booth. Don't you dare think of her. He scolded himself. He looked throw all of the arrows and grabed a quiverful. "How much?" He asked still rather distracted. "Twenty Two peices. " Percy gaped, "Thats outrageous!" The man behind the counter replyed, " You took the best of the bunch, what do you expected.?" Grumbing, and still thinking about the banshee, Percy payed the man.
Oasis shook her head in attempt to clear her thoughts. She was so frustrated! Eventually, she decided to go back to her tribe. Pushing through the bushes into the entrance of their camp, she looked around. Her father appeared very cross, and was speaking sternly to her mother. She couldn't quite make out what he was staying. Closing her eyes, she focused her hearing. She heard her name mentioned, but couldn't make out the rest of the conversation. All she knew was that she had to get out of here, and fast. As she began to leave, her father called out, "OASIS!" His scream rumbled throughout the forest. She wondered if the people in town heard.
Percy's head jerked up. What was that? The people/creatures around him didn't respond in the least, Percy had sensitive hearing. It had come from the dictertion he had to go back to. Quickly with his leftover money, Percy bought a week's suply of food. He slung his bow and quiver over his shoulder, and ran toward the forest.
Oasis jumped at her father's scream. Head down, she slunk over to her father to hear what he had to say.
"What have you been up to?" her father rumbled. "Getting into trouble?"
"Uh.. no just.. going for a stroll." she murmured quietly.
"Well that's all well and good, but cousin Alec noticed you going into town. You know you're not allowed in town. So stay OUT!" he screamed.
Oasis nodded her head, ashamed and began to leave her father's lair. As she was leaving he bellowed, "You are arranged to be married in just a month's time. You haven't forgotten have you?"
Oasis' heart skipped a beat. She in fact had forgotten. "N-no father. I-i remembered." she replied, and ran back into the forest, tears streaming down her face.
Percy ran through the woods, not sure of where he was going. Sundennly he slamed into a girl. Catching her before she fell, Percy looked at the banshee.
Before she knew it, Oasis crashed into a boy. Slightly stunned by the collision, she looked up at the figure who had caught her. It's the elf. she thought suddenly. No no no this can't be happening! I just... can't!! Oasis stood up quickly brushing the tears off her cheeks. "T-thanks" she murmured.
Percy looked down at her reliseing who she was. "Uh, no problem." He said quickly and looked away from her eyes. "I saw you in the market." He said even though it had been rather obvious ((spelling)). "Are you alright, you look like you've been crying."
Oasis smiled sheepishly. He remembers me! Meeting his gaze, she spoke quietly, "Yeah I'm alright... It's just my dad.." she trailed off. She looked in all directons. Her father could be listening to her at any moment. She didn't even know how far his powers could extend. But if he caught her... talking to an elf... It would definitely mean bad news.
Percy watched her, he was good at reading emtions as are all elfs. "I'm sorry, I should proably leave." He said leaning against a tree casualy. He bit his lip, Why can't I leave her?!
Oasis jerked her head up and stared into the elf's eyes. He couldn't leave! Not yet anyways, it was far too soon. She hadn't even caught his name for goodness sake! Oasis tried to tell him without sounding too desperate, "Don't go yet! What's the rush? We've only just met!"
Percy startled, apparently he read her wrong. "I'm Percy." He said. "And you...?" He didn't look into her eyes, he didn't know what to do. He was so drawn to her, he was tempted to leave then. After all he needed to get home. These thoughts left him as he looked again into her eyes.
((Okay since we are doing so much with the eys, what color are hers? Percy's are a gray))
(( I'm thinking they are blue! But not a normal blue, like a pale icy blue! :) ))
"I'm Oasis." she spoke softly, smiling. "Listen if you need to go...." her voice trailed off. She felt his gaze on her, and she met his eyes once more. She hadn't realized the true beauty of their color. They were a soft gray, appearing dull at a quick glance, but stunning and intense and beautiful when you looked deeply into them.
(( Yeah I was trying to think of what we could do with the eyes since they're so involved in this story.. I was thinking later on if one of them went blind, then what would happen? haha not sure where to go with this! ))
((I don't know, I kinda don't want Percy to go blind!! Though it could be a part of the desise, mabey they also lose their intensity? Or somthing could happen with Oasis's father? Ideas, I like ideas!!))
Percy looked over at the girl and smiled at her. "Oasis..." Percy rolled it on his tounge. "It's pretty, I like it. And I don't really need to go any-" Percy's head jerked to the right, his strong hearing picking up barking dogs. "Rats, they have dogs." Percy looked over at Oasis, he couldn't leave her hear, the dogs would be able to smell him on her. "Listen," Percy said taking a step foward. "I have to go and you have to come, I'll explain later." He grabbed her wrist and took off, sprinting at the speed of a horse.
(( Haha no worries, I wouldn't mind being the blind one but just babbling ideas! I like something happening to her father... he's evil! She's been ordered to have an arranged marriage in a month-ish or so, so something could go on with that! By the way, I like your horse reference in your post! ;) ))
Oasis was jolted as Percy grabbed her wrist. Regaining her balance, she ran side by side with Percy, matching him stride for stride. She wondered where they were going. As long as it was with Percy, she was okay with it.
((Haha, yes us horse obsessed people must have at least some horse referance!))
Percy ran with Oasis keeping his ears tuned to anything that could be happening behind them. Dogs were only keep as pets by humans, the rest were all wild. Thats how Percy could tell that there were humans. Percy ran faster. Finaly Percy could hear them no more and knew they lost the scent. He stopped dropping her wrist and leaned heavily on a tree. His breathing heavy, Percy's face was etched was exashtion.
Oasis stopped when Percy did, and watched his face. He appeared very worn out and exhausted. Some what out of breath Oasis panted, "What was... that for?" To catch her breath as well, she leaned against a tree adjacent to Percy's.
Percy's mouth was open and gasped for breath. He could do short sprints like that, but it always took too much out of him. He slid down the tree, sitting down and leaned his head back. He was exshasted. "The human government." He took a breath, his heavey breathing getting in the way. "They're after all rare specis, I happen to be one. They thought we had all died out but I'm still here. So they're after me." He said it all in gasps trying to get his breath back.
Oasis' eyes became filled with worry. "Well what can I do to help? I can't let you get captured! Who knows what they'll do to you!" she gasped. She sat down too and leaned her head down on his shoulders. "Maybe I could throw them off your trail!" she exclaimed and jumped up. "I'll be right back okay? You stay here I'm going to go trick them!"
