(Really sorry for the late post! By the way, Roseatta, I screamed [with elation] when I saw Keisha... *sigh...*)

Keisha

Keisha's eyebrows went up again. This was getting more bizarre by the minute. Coffee but no soda? What happened to all the teenagers that guzzled high fructose corn syrup all day? Keisha pushed herself up from her seat when the drinks were presented and she helped herself to a rather large mug of espresso.

“Mmm,” she said as her hands wrapped around the hot cup and she sat down again, this time with her feet on the floor. One thing she could be thankful for, was the fact she would never burn herself again in her entire life. The aroma of the coffee almost put her to sleep just then. One of the few joys I get out of life, she thought with a twist of the mouth. This Reve kid was too eccentric for her tastes, but then, everyone was. He could see dreams then? The thought almost made her laugh. Lucky for her, all she dreamed about was a sine wave. Usually a blue one...but sometimes it was yellow. Only on the rarest of occasions would she actually have a proper dream, and then it would be hours and hours long with way too much adventure.

Keisha snapped to when the girl next to Reve grabbed his coffee and slammed it down on the table. How rude. Take it easy girl, I agree with the sentiment, but life's not worth it to lose your cool over. And by the way, Rachel girl—if you are listening to this—it does not matter to me if you read my mind, but please don't go spilling my thoughts to other people if you don't mind. Thank you. Keisha focused more attention than she normally did on random thoughts on that last message to Miss Steel, hoping the “loudness” of the thought—if it working that way in the first place—would float across the air.

Mr. Allen Steel was talking again so she tuned in.

(My computer ran out of juice and I don't have the cord :(...will definitely post earlier tomorrow!)

(you don't mind if I add on to that post, Endless? As I couldn't finish it yesterday because of my computer.)

Keisha couldn't help but raise her hand after listening for a while. “Uh, Thanatos would have no use for my ability. Perhaps he doesn't know it, but switching from normal vision to X-ray vision would be very disorienting to the brain and he wouldn't be able to actually use the ability—or any other he has—for more than a year.”

Keisha realized she probably shouldn't have said that. Now someone was going to get the idea—oh! Let's throw Keisha to Thanatos and trick him into taking her ability. She mentally facepalmed.

Juliet & Reve

"Es-tu fou? Nous aimerions tous être mis en danger incroyable! Et toutes les familles hors seraient impliqués?" Juliet's French was fervent and peturbed, her green eyes sparks of disbelief as she stared at Allen.

"Ju, you're speaking in French again." Reve mildly reminded her, an almost amused smirk on his face. Juliet flustered was either very amusing, or very unpleasant...Reve hardly found it the latter...

"Ugh." Juliet breathed out, slumping down in a seat and crossing her arms. It was times like this where she wondered what it would be like to be Reve, who hardly ot upset over anything. She was the bright burning flame, while he was the flicker of a lamp. "What I mean is, our families are going to be put in danger because of us? If we join, they would all be safe, right?" That was her major concern, and she tossed her gaze over at Reve briefly; his brows were only crumpled slightly.
"I sure hope they would, Allen. We do have a lot of family, you know. In Paris, but still." Reve shrugged, though the thought of Dimi, his youngest brother, being in harm's way, made his stomach clench.

"It would be great if all of us joined." Reve added, nodding with a smile at Ryker's comment."Sam, is it? Your ability would be a lot of help, too, if we want to bring this guy down."

"And yours," Juliet added, straightening if only slightly as she addressed the girl who also wanted coffee. Keisha, if Juliet was correct. And was she blind...It made Juliet change her thoughts."The faster we can all control our abilities, the faster we can defeat this Thanatos freak and then we can all forget this mess." She surely didn't want to room with a bunch of guys, who she probably couldn't stand just because. Not to mention that the two girls here were so not going to be her best friends...but she wouldn't let Reve join alone.

Allen

Allen tried to keep track of all the conversation and all the questions. "Ryker, we have to keep high security to prevent Thanatos from getting to you before you're ready. The no dating rule is simply there because anyone you date could easily be targetted and our protection doesn't spread that far. Plus anyone you date could be Duckface." He quickly cleared his throat. "A shape-shifter who worls for Thanatos. Gender unknown, name unknown, age unknown, and appearance unknown."

Keisha, Thanatos picked up another ability at some point before we fought him that is sort of addaption. He can adapt to anything, even your power, in a matter of seconds or minutes at most." Allen looked at Juliet, getting another message from Rachel. "Your families would go under special watch and protection. They would be safer than if you didn't join. And Rachel has brought it to my attention the rooming. You would have the option of sharing with Rachel, Keisha, or Reve. You could have a room all to yourself if you would rather. It's policy we don't mix gender, except for with sibblings."

Jamie

"Okay, enough with the questions, where do I sign up?" Jamie asked impatiently. He didn't care at this point what he was getting into. He'd heard enough. He was getting away from his brothers, and perhaps finding a way to stop his power from affecting him all the time. Anything to get away from Zack and Curtis... He thought with an inward grimace.

Sam

Allen's description sounded all very doomsday. I really despise science fiction novels.... And now he was virtually in one. The way it sounded, no amount of training could prepare them against such a powerful figure as Thanatos. He rested his chin on his hand.

Sam agreed with both Ryker and Reve. It sounded like they were going to need a lot of luck, or at least in his opinion. Sam wasn't too sure that he liked the idea of being depended on for anything no matter how big or small. There was a reason he wasn't much of a team player.

"Yeah," he said to both Ryker and Reve with a sort of grim smile, "If I can learn how to control it long enough," he said matter-of-factly. Which was what they were doing there, after all. Juliet's mention of family also reminded him of another reason why he was here in the first place.

You've already put them through a lot, might as well participate as long as it keeps them safe.

Sam knew that he wasn't making that big of a decision, really. He had already kind of made up his mind the moment Mr. Steel had approached him. He didn't like dwelling on things and this, well, seemed to be kind of an obvious choice. Not that he had to be thrilled about it, of course.

He was glad that Allen brought up the issue of rooming- and was even more glad to learn that they didn't have to share a room. Sam got understandably nervous when sharing rooms with other people- mostly for the reason of what could possibly happen if he woke up with a nightmare or something.

(By the way, Rosetta, the drawings are awsome!)

Ryker

Ryker pointed at the guy whose name he actually knew: Jamie. "This kid? I like his attitude...and I agree with him."

He grinned. "Go on, bust out the sign-up sheet or whatever it is. This guy, Thanatos, would come after us anyway, and I'd rather know what the heck I'm doing when I see him than not."

He paused, and his grin faded someone. "If it'll keep my family safe...why not? It's not like I have college to look forward to."

Alex

Alex tried to take in everything that was going on, but some of the conversation was lost on him as he thought about Natalia. He would do pretty much anything to keep her safe, do there wasn't a question about joining.

"How do we know that one of us isn't this Duckface?" He questioned.

(Roseatta, I saw the pictures and I love them! I'm not even kidding when I say that your drawing of Alex was spot on! very impressive lol. Besides him, I think my favorite may have been Juliet. Can't wait to see how you draw my Rachel from Marvel School :) )

Allen

Allen walked over to a filing cabinet in the corner and opened it, bringing out the contracts. "It's not sign-up sheets, it's actual contracts. And it's actually formed to both cover our tracks from the public and legally bind you to serve our real purpose at the same time. Once you sign this, there's no turning back, unless you recieve a sickness or injury, or lose your ability, preventing you from aiding us." He handed out the contracts. "You don't have to sign it right away. You can go home and think on it. But you'll only have until tomorrow to decide. If you choose not to participate you are required to burn- and no other form of destruction is good enough- every little bit of paper we've given you. You will not be allowed to talk about anything you've learned anywhere. You will not be allowed to search for others with abilities, or have any contact with the people who participate. So basically if you don't sign that contract, you will be signing yourself to continue life exactly as if we'd never come around."

He turned his attention to the part of Duckface. "Alex, we know Duckface isn't here because Rachel would be able to pick up on the thoughts. She has extensively checked each of you upon your arrival to be sure. Plus we've monitored you every single second since we've contacted you to make sure you were not approached or harmed by anyone against us." He grabbed some pens and set them on the table up for grabs, giving one to Jamie and Ryker both who seemed to have completely made up their minds. He saw Jamie sign the contract right away without reading a word of it except 'signature here'.

Juliet & Reve

"We only have until tomorrow?" Juliet questioned, her lips twisting into a sour pucker. Great. Only twenty four hours to decide on this life altering decision. No biggie, right? She stared at her contract intently, whereas Reve's green eyes skimmed over it briefly.

"This really is wonderful." He voiced, already searching for a pen. Juliet's hand shot out, stopping him briefly with an alarmed expression.

"Reve, we can't just sign right away." She protested, only to get a dubious, slightly doey eyed look in response. When Reve blinked in comprehension, a flutter of hope beat in Juliet's chest. It vanished shortly after Reve spoke.

"Oh yes, right." Reve nodded, his attention going to Allen."I'll be able to still go on my morning runs, won't I Allen?" He questioned, and Juliet almost spoke in French again. Instead, she swatted him on the shoulder.

"Reve! No, no, we just can't be quick to decide!" Juliet tried to reason, though it was useless as he waited for Allen's answer, earnest. She rubbed her head, a long drawn out with escaping her lips."And no, Mr. Steel, I don't need to room with Reve." Juliet might of been protective, but it would even annoy Reve if she insisted on rooming with him. Not to mention he would end up watching her dreams all night, blabbering about them to who knows who...

Keisha

Keisha took a stapled couple sheets of paper and pen. Juliet and Reve were talking and more noise filled the room from the siblings squabble. Keisha set the contract on her lap and flipped through the pages, reading it in detail. It wasn't too complicated and there wasn't really anything she had qualms with. For a moment she wondered if it was even legal to have a minor sign a contract without parental permission and then she laughed inwardly at her own stupidity. That was the whole point.

It was a rarity when Keisha had to go on gut instinct, but this was one of those times. Common sense just left her head and she found herself sitting with a blank mind and just...waiting. For any indication that she should sign it. “To sign, or not to sign? That is the question,” she mumbled. Good, bad. Bad, good? Keisha signed the back of the two papers and handed the contract back to Allen.

Allen & Jamie

Allen took the contact and gave it to Rachel. He looked at Reve, trying not to smile at the sibling banter. "You should be able to take your morning runs. Anytime security is too tight for you to go out, you can still go to the gym here in the building, but hopefully you'll be able to go on your runs as you please." He took Jamie's contract as well, giving it to Rachel.

"So what about this stuff about helping my family? Can it start now or does it have to wait? Because if I could get my mom financial help now, that'd be great." Jamie piped up.

Allen pursed his lips. "You'll need to discuss it with Marie. We can't afford to support all your families yet, but if it can be determined they need it now enough then we can go ahead and take care of it."

Ryker

Ryker didn't even bother pretending to read the contract. So long as he was a target, his family would be a target, and putting his sisters in danger wasn't anywhere on the list of Things Ryker Wanted To Do. Using that simple logic, he signed his name in the spaces provided, adding a flourish on the end for humor.

"You should do it," he said to Reve, even as he waited for the Steel guy - whose name did nothing but remind him of the football team, the Steelers - to take his contract. His eyes slid over to the boy, even as he eyed his sister out of the corner of his eye. How could one sibling be so laidback...and the other so not? "I mean, we need some comic relief around here. This stuff is pretty heavy."

His eyes slid to the rest of the teens in the room, and he couldn't help but think that even with the training they would be provided, they were done for. Well, unless the enemy was gullible and enjoyed staring contests.

That Ryker could handle.

Sam

Even though Sam had virtually made up his mind, he didn't grab for one of the forms, not wanting to commit to any hasty sort of decision. Wonderful. Now this is just dithering, like Hamlet. And where did that get him? The thought of the much disliked character spurred him to slide a copy of the contract over to him.

He skimmed through the pages (finally, something up his alley: reading), and looked up once he heard Kiesha speak. He smiled to himself. Looks like I'm not the only one with the dithering Danish Prince on mind. 'Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer....'

Sam considered. Allen had mentioned just walking away and going back to their normal lives. But from what he had said earlier, Sam didn't have anything to look forward to in the future without joining Ghost.

Sighing through his nose and worrying that he was worrying too much, Sam wrote his signature in the designated area, and attempted to juggle upbeat and semi-optimistic thoughts, without much success.

Ryker's right. I have a feeling that some comic relief is going to be necessary in the near future. Sam, at least, felt that he'd need it. Henry VIII jokes do get old after a while, especially if you only tell them to yourself.

Juliet & Reve

"Here that, Ju? Some 'comic relief'. Ryker thinks I'm funny!" Reve said to his sister, his smile as bright as the dawn of a newborn day. Juliet muttered under her breath, snatching the contract handed to her.

"I would pefer if you didn't mock my brother, thank you very much." She directed towards Ryker, not at all intiminated by his whole "biker punk" look. Reve snorted, rolling his green eyes, a rarity for him.

"Oh, Ju, lighten up. Being a comic relief is a very good thing, you know." He explained with a serious nod, before proceeding to sign the contract with his scribbly signature. Juliet's eyes idened fractionally, her fists clenching slightly. "And relax. This way our family is safe, right? An Ghost can even help out mom. C'mon, Ju." Reve explained, so casual and nonchalant about everything. It made Juliet want to physically shake him, though she refrained. Reve was already involved, and there was no way ou of it now...Reluctantly, she put her curly signature on the dotted line, clearly not happy, but accepting. Reve, on the other hand, was enthusiastically beginning to start up some more conversation.

"So, Sam," He addressed eagerly, his green eyes brightly curious."You say you can minupulate luck; tell me, how does this work? Can you just make certain good things happen to people? Or bad? Remind me not to ever get on your bad side, considering the latter."

Rachel & Allen

Rachel collected the sign contracts for her uncle as he went over to the filing cabinet and started looking for something. She didn't bother dipping into his thoughts. "It looks like everyone's on board then." She mumbled, more to herself as she took Ryker's contract. She glanced at the time on a clock above the door and her brow furrowed. "Uncle Allen, considering the time, can't I give them a tour of the place before they go home?" She turned to look at her uncle.

Allen glanced at the time and nodded. "Yeah. You can go ahead and do that if you'd like. And go ahead and set up a mental safety system to keep out Duckface. Also..." He pulled out the forms. "If you guys need your families supported now, fill these out and give them to Marie at the front desk. There is the option of keeping all the money that would be given to them for yourself, but I have doubts any of you would need that..."

Keisha

Keisha listened with silent interest to Ryker and Reve but soon only Juliet's attitude drew her attention. The young woman had a lot of energy. She actually needed a productive outlet for it, before she snapped off someone's head. With a snort, Keisha set down her coffee, but only to spill it all over her leg and the floor. “Ah, crap,” she uttered, reaching over for some napkins and dabbing up the mess. She reached a hand into her pocket and pulled out her cellphone, which started to drip hot liquid onto her turtleneck shirt. The coffee wasn't too bad and she didn't worry about the stains it would cause, but for her cellphone? “Just my lucky day...”

Keisha turned her head slightly toward Allen to get her puffy hair out of the way of hearing. Rachel mentioned a tour. Personally Keisha wouldn't mind, maybe actually enjoy it. Standing up, she grabbed some extra napkins to wipe her phone and clothes off. “Just great,” she muttered.

(Please don't be mad at me for not posting last night, Endless. I was kinda sick and couldn't get on.)

Alex

Alex briefly looked over the contract even though his mind had pretty much been made up from before the meeting. He selected a pen from the center of the long table and put his signaure on the designated line.
He surveyed the room to see that most of the other teens were either done signing contracts or still reading them. It didn't seem like many people were taking the time to really make up there minds. In fact, it didn't seem like this Ghost program was letting them take their time, but Alex decided that forcing a bunch of teens into a hasty change-your-life-forever situation might just be a show of how desperate the government was to get any kind of help. Sure, these kids, himself included, all had unusual abilities, but they were hardly The Avengers.
"Are these even legally binding?" he asked Allen. I mean, until I was eighteen I always needed my sister, my guardian, to cosign everything. I mean, it's just my guess, but some of these kids look a lot younger than eighteen."
His attention was immediately caught by Keisha, who'd spilled her coffee on herself. He chuckled to himself and grabbed a handful of napkins. "Here," he offered, reaching out for her phone. "The same thing almost happened to me a few minutes ago. Except my phone is waterproof--supposedly, I mean, I'm not brave enough to put it to the test."
He looked up when he realized what Rachel had suggested. "Oh, a tour? That sounds cool."

Juliet & Reve

"Oh, a tour would be nice! I would hate getting lost around here." Reve remarked; Juliet only knew too well that Reve's sense of direction was that of a five year old. His eyes then flickered over to Kiesha's coffee spill; the Alex guy seemed very likable in the fact that he was helping her. Juliet wondered again if she was blind--pretty brave coming here, and Juliet didn't really understand her power, only that she said something about Reve--but was too polite to ask. She'd find out eventually, though Reve preferred to know everything right away. Before the words were out of his lips, Juliet felt like facepalming herself.

"Are you blind, Keisha?" Reve asked, though not in a mean way. There was nothing but pure curiosity in the question; Juliet doubted Reve could ever sound truly mean in asking anything. Still, she swatted at him again, only for her older brother to blink."What? It would be rather useful in knowing. I mean no harm." Reve explained, before his brows crumpled slightly. Was that too rude of him? It was a habit Reve had; asking "rude" questions without even knowing they were rude.

Ryker

Ryker had to smirk at Juliet, even as she continued to ignore him, beyond her warning to not mock her brother. She was clearly fiesty...then again, the rest of the women in the room seemed to be the same way, though Rachel seemed slightly gentler than the rest.

They've all had a good dose of stubborn, it looks like.

His eyes strayed to Keisha, the girl who didn't appear blind at first glance - but who Reve clearly thought was. Ryker had to grin at his blunt question, and he even wiped at his mouth to keep his laugh at bay.

"Smooth," he said to Reve, glancing at Juliet. Would she take offense to everything he said?

Ryker hoped so. He was having too much fun already for her to stop now.

His eyes then slid over to Rachel, and he let out his trademark smirk. "A tour would be nice. I need to know what places are off-limits..."

...so I can check them out later, he thought, hoping she heard.
