Tessa whirled around, fling the knife and it was burried in the wall behind him. "well, someones crispy" and she laughedbrushing past him and her tattoos blinked.
Ash frowned, though the contact with her made him shiver a little. "What do you mean, crispy?" he protested, scowling at her. "I'm great, thank you."
Tessa smiled sweetly at him, "whatever you say" flashing him a grin, and the student started to roll right in.
That smile of hers made his heart skip a beat, but Ash tried to shake it off as more and more students began flooding the place. "Ridiculous," he muttered under his breath, not liking this at all.
Tessa laughed again as she heard him, "alright class! Let's get started" she smiled brightly. "I just have to warn you thigh, the weapons can be very sharp, don't run with them" she looked at them seriously, there faces were priceless, she laughed again.
There was that laugh again. How was she so happy? Ash simply watched both her and the clock as he stood there, waiting for some kind of instructions. This couldn't end well.
"ok" Tessa ripped the dagger put if the wa and walked back infront if the class. Then something caught her eye... Someone. That someone was... Jack. He was leaning up against the doorframe, she tried not to look at him so Ash wouldn't notice. "are first lesson is with daggers, so go ahead sand grab one" she mustered her best fake smile.
Ash frowned a bit; why didn't her smile look as genuine as before? Was Jack here? He looked around and spotted him in the doorway, and his eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms. Darn it... For the second time this morning, Jack's arm began to smoke, though Ash made sure to keep his eyes on the teacher.
Tessa looked over at swore, "Ash!" she hissed, walking over to him. "listen, it's fine really, your going to just make him mad! And I don't want him to hurt you!" glancing at Jack who was looking at her suggestively and tried not to shiver.
"He won't hurt me," Ash muttered, though his eyes were on the floor once again as he spoke to her. "I'll be fine, okay? But he needs to leave, or else." The smoke let up, though, as he tried to control himself.
"Maybe Jack is right" Tessa muttered under her breath. "The guardian has a guardian" she shook her head. She walked over to Jack, "you need to leave, your destracting the class" she put her hands in her hips. "I'm I reall? Or am I destracting you?" her blood ran cold, and she immediately hated herself as her cheeks heated slightly.
Ash felt his anger flare up once again, and some other emotion that he couldn't pinpoint. He almost didn't even notice the flames starting on Jack's shoulder, but when he did, he immediately tried his best to put them out. His emotions were conflicting, however, and the fire simply flickered before starting again.
Tessa gasped, "Ash no! Jack!" Tessa grabbed Jacks arm but cried our, she had forgotten to adapt and the flames burned her hand badly. She ignored the stinging. "take off your shirt before it burns you!" she yelled at Jack.
She got burned? At this realisation, the flames disappeared, and Ash could only stare. He rushed through the back door while everyone was staring at Jack, hoping no one could see him as he ran back to his room, feeling almost sick.
Tessa saw Ash run out and she ran out after him. "wait Ash! Please Stop!" she cried, her voice pleading.
Ash froze, but couldn't bring himself to look back at her. He felt horrible. Like some kind of monster. Maybe he really was a monster - today's events seemed to be weighing for that possibility.
Tessa caught up to him and grabbed his arm and turned him to face her. "Ash, I'm fine, it's just a small burn" she whispered, gazing into his eyes. She hid her hand so he wouldn't see how bad it was. "I'm fine, really..."
"You're a bad liar," Ash murmured, taking her wrist to study the burn. "That's no small burn. I'm not stupid, okay?" His eyes stung with tears that he refused to let fall, and he finally let her hand drop.
Tessa frowned slightly, he looked like he was going to cry. Do she did something without thinking, she wrapped him in a huge and squeezed him. "I'm ok, it only stung for a second" she whispered into his ear, still hugging him.
Ash froze up for a second, totally not expecting that hug. But after a bit he hugged her back tightly, gripping the back of her shirt as he hid his face against her shoulder. "I'm really sorry..." he muttered a little shakily.
