Tessa looked up and she was staring at... The boy. She looked quickly down, but the door started to creak open... And Jack of course just had walk in.
Ash's eyes narrowed just slightly when he saw Jack. Him again? No doubt he was going to be all creeper again, though Ash hoped otherwise. He preferred not to use his powers in front of other people.
Tessa froze, but then finally got herself unglued and started to eat hurriedly. "hello" he murmured, his cool gaze swept over her, chilling her completely. " go away, I'm not in the mood for games."
It took a moment for Ash to realise his apple was slowly having the life sucked out of it, and he tore his eyes away from the girl to look down at it. He dropped it on the table, and grimaced; it was a shriveled up piece of nothing now. He hated that power. Yes, the fire one was actually sort of cool. But this... He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, which settled back on Jack and the girl, only making him angry again.
Jack smiled and slid right besides her, bumping her hip with his and jolting her slightly. "go away!" she hissed. "I don't think so beautiful."
Ash's fists clenched in frustration. Why was Jack so persistant? Before he knew it, Jack's arm was beginning to smoke, and he quickly tried to calm himself down before it could become an actual fire.
Teases eyes widened And she started laughing a pretty tinkling laugh as she saw Jacks arm smoking. "what is it?" he asked almost angrily. "wow Jack, I must have never noticed it... But you are really smokin" she burst into another fit of laughter.
She turned that into a joke? Ash stared at the girl in shock. Wow... Just... wow. Ash's heart skipped a beat for some reason, and the smoke coming from Jack's arm suddenly thickened and became a flame.
Jack cried out as hexsaw the licking flame up his arm. All the while, Tessa was laughing, "thank you" she mouthed to Ash with a twinkle in her eyes.
Ash almost lost control of the flame when he heard the girl's laugh. Perfect. He blinked, forcing himself back to reality, and suddenly the flame was gone, leaving only smoke behind.
Tessa stopped laughing and saw the look in Jacks eyes... Oh no. He started going for Ash. "no!" she jerked up, Aand moved herself infront of his first punch. It hit her in the face, but she had already been expecting it. Her body had adapted into hard iron,he yelled out in pain. And Jack just got his first demonstration of what she could do.
Ash was on his feet now, glaring at Jack, though his mouth twitched up into a faint smirk at the sight of his broken hand. Served him right, the creep. He stepped in front of the girl, his eyes still on Jack. "Leave, before I burn you again. And this time, I won't stop at just your arm."
Jack growled and then stalked out. Tessa almost hugged him, but she would probably knock the wind out if him. She turned herself back to normal. "uh, thanks again" she smiled a pretty white smile at him.
Ash simply shook his head. "I thought I told you to tell me if he was giving you trouble," he pointed out with one brow raised as he crossed his arms. Obviously this girl seemed pretty independent, but still. "If you need help, ask. Got it, mystery girl?"
Tessa crossed her arms over her chest, "I think I handled myself pretty well" she raised her chin. "and you shouldn't be talking to your instructor like that" she raised an eyebrow at him but was smiling.
Ash felt the blood drain from his face. "You're... my instructor?" He figured she was an instructor, but not his instructor... Oh great. "Oh. Um. Well, anyway, the word still stands." Now he just felt awkward...
Tessa noticed his discomfort, "oh don't worry, will be teaching a whole class, not just you" she smiled again.
As if that helped anything. "Great," he said, his voice a bit flat. With a sigh, he shoved his hands into his pockets, glarng down at the ground. "I already know how to use my powers. I don't need to be here."
Tessa shook her head, "yes you do, you don't know what your saying" her eyes flashing slightly. She started to walk to the trash can to throw her stuff away.
"No I don't!" Ash protested, following her without thinking. "I know what I'm doing. Besides, there are some powers... That I'm not going to use anyway. So..." He chewed on his lip, wishing he could get his point across more effectively. "I don't need help. I know what I'm doing."
