Jewel shook her head. She was so frustrated and confused to the point of tears welling up in her eyes. "Cole...I can't do this..."
Cole cursed himself. He knew he'd overdone it. "Hey, I'm sorry. Like I said, just act yourself. My parents will be fine."
Jewel just kept shaking her head, she went into his room and shut the door.
Cole followed after her, he opened the door. "Jewel, calm down. Now you're being the one overthinking things. So stop. Simplify your life. Stop thinking for a moment and just focuse on breathing with big breaths... Please."
Jewel whimpered, crying. "You contridict yourself and confuse me Cole."
"I'm trying to correct my mistakes!" He almost yelled.
Jewel winced at the harshness she sensed. She flinched like he was about to hit her. Tears flowed freely. "I'm sorry..." She whispered. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
"Hey, hey..." Cole immedietly adjusted his voice and felt bad. "Calm down... It's okay........ I'm the one who should say sorry."
Jewel sobbed helplessly into her hands.
Cole didn't know what to do so he just hugged Jewel.
"I'm sorry I have so much trouble understanding." Jewel whispered shakily. "Please don't be angry at me. Please don't hurt me."
"I'll never hurt." Cole assured her, "and I'll restrain my anger around you."
Jewel sniffled, hiding her face against his shirt. "I'm sorry..."
"You don't need to be sorry Jewel." Cole stroked her hair.
"But I made you mad." Jewel whispered.
"I have other stress making issues in my life." Cole shrugged. "As much as I hate to say it... Nothing's perfect....... Well, maybe except you." A slight smile formed on Cole's face.
"But...but I'm not perfect." Jewel sniffled. "I made you mad...and I can't understand...and...and..." She sniffled again. "I'm scared."
"Everyone gets scared." Cole assured her. "Even I do. Sometimes."
"You have no idea what fear is..." Jewel whispered. "Not until you go through what I had to."
"I'm not going to argue with that since I haven't." Cole said. "Now, let's get ready for my parents."
