Sam kept a straight face and slammed his hilt on the back of his opponent's head and watched him fall to the ground. Turning to Alanna and the other guy, he peered at the man darkly. "We'll do what is needed, but we'll ask first." he stared at the man. "Where is the stolen merchandise you took?" he asked. "And also, where is your fourth man? There were four bandits."
The man let out a small cry. "P...Pleasee don't kill me. I... I have a wife and kids. They made me do it. I'll tell you anything you want to know just please dont hurt me." He was visably shaking. Alanna was glad she had a great poker face because on the inside she felt herself melt like butter. She knew what it was like to have a jailbird father. She didn't say anything just keeping her sword pointed at his throat.
Sam sighed. "Whatever. I'll knot up his wrists and ankles and put him in the cart, then we'll go ahead." he told Alanna. "You check the cart for anything." Sam set to work tying up the man then, when he was done, picked him up and promptly tossed him in the cart. "Ok, I'm ready to go, did you find anything?" he asked.
Alanna nodded. "I found at least some of the jewels reported stolen. Nothing about the fourth man though." She held up a bag full of jewels. "What do we do now?"
"Nice job." Sam told her. "Well, I guess if those were the jewels, our job is technically done." he added, rubbing his dusty brown hair. "Although I am curious. Wanna run ahead and check it out?" he asked.
"Well we probably should go and look but we can't exactly leave these guys tied up here. Would you feel safe enough going ahead to find the fourth while i keep watch over the bafoons?" Alanna chewed on her lip she really didn't like the idea of him going off on his own. That never ended well in the stories her mother told her as a little girl.
((Sorry, my earlier posts were deleted...))
"Sure." Sam said bluntly. "I'll be back soon. If not, just go back to town with these guys." Sam jogged off, and after about five minutes, he saw the cabin. He got to the building and checked the door, steadily turning the handle. He peered inside, the door creaking softly as he opened it. Sam stepped inside and quietly moved across the floor. Suddenly, he heard a noise and looked to his right, but was smashed in the back of the head by a board. He reeled, his vision blurred as he scrambled to retaliate. Drawing his sword, his sight returned and he swung at the man. The man, in turn, ducked and rammed the board into Sam's stomach. Growling, Sam thrusted the blade through the bandit's midsection, then quickly drew it out. "Jeez..." he muttered. He wasn't sure about killing people, but he knew it would have to be done as a knight. Checking quickly for any traces of more stolen items, he left, uncovering nothing.
((Sorry i havent had internet since monday)
Alanna paced in front of the prisioners that hed captured. biting her thumbnail and trying not to worry. After a while the one prisioner she had talked to woke up and stared at her. "What are you looking at ugly?" He only laughed and shook his head.
((It's fine, I've been busy with work and stuff.))
Sam jogged back, his head smarting from where the man had hit it. "Nothing back there, but I caught their last guy." he told her, looking around. "Let's take these guys back and finish the job." He peered up at the ash-speckled sky. It was fairly late into the afternoon and he sighed. "So you think we should just throw 'em in the cart and go?" he asked.
Alanna lat out a sigh of relief "Oh thank goodness you're ok!" She yelled running up to him but stopping herself before she was a total girl and hugged him. "Uh yea i think that'll work. Where is the fourth?"
"He's uh... Back at the cabin..." he stammered. Technically, he wasn't lying. "Okay, let's get these goons to the jail." he said, heaving the one man on the ground into the cart. He took the reins of the horse and lead it back in the direction of the kingdom. "How was the first job for you?" he asked, looking over his shoulder.
"It was fine." Alanna said with a shrug. "Not as glorious as I would have hoped but..." She let the thought trail off. "What about you is it all you expected?"
Sam shrugged. "I don't know." he replied. "It was okay." The two came into the kingdom, heading down a side road. "So what should we do after we drop these guys off at the jail?" he asked.
"I'm not sure I was going to take Cloud out for a ride. But I can do that later if you wanted to do something else. Or you can come with really its up to you." She easily kept up with Sam tilting her head back to feel the sun on her face.
Sam waved a hand. "No it's fine. I've got nothing in particular in mind," he replied. "And you haven't ridden your horse since you got here, so it'd be good for you to do that." They walked up to the prison. Leading the cart over, he left it near some guards and handed them the job flyer. Walking back to Alanna, he nodded. "Would you like me to walk with you to the stables?" he asked.
"You can if you want. I don't know what you had planned for the afternoon, you don't have to go out of your way or anything." She started off torwards the stables silently hoping he would come with her.
Sam looked over his shoulder as if he saw something, but turned back and headed after Anna. "Just so you know, if I come, I'm not riding. Most horses don't like me." he told her.
Alanna grinned. "Oh don't worry you big baby. the big scary horsies won't hurt you." She reached up and patted his head. "I promise."
Sam grinned. "Yeah, I'm a baby, Shorty." he teased. They continued to the stables and Sam leaned against the wall, waiting for Alanna to take care of what she needed to with her horse.
Alanna walked into Clouds stall and started rubbing her neck. "You ok in here girl?" she asked not even realising that the pony wouldn't answer. "I'd take you for a ride but someone in scared of horses, so I can't." She looked up and grinned at Sam. "You sure you don't like to ride?"
