Alanna sighed and moped off to the inn where she got a room and fell asleep almost before she made it to the bed. For the first time in a while she had no dreams at all, and for her morning soon came.
Sam walked the streets instead of sleeping. He watched the shadows cast on the ground by the streetlamps. They danced to the flicker of the flames. There was a rumble in the distance, a volcanic rumble. "So," he murmured. "A friend." Morning came quickly and he strolled back to the street where they were going to meet.
When Alanna awoke the next morning she wasn't suprised to see that the sun was just begining to rise. Hurridly she changed her clothes and scarfed down a small breakfast before saving some rolls for later and heading out the door of the inn. She was almost giddy with excitement as she went to the meeting place to wait on Sam.
Sam leaned against a house on the side of the street. He had no real expression on his face except for his tired eyes. Turning his head, he saw Alanna walking up to him. "Hey," he said nonchalantly. "How'd ya sleep?"
"Obvously better than you did. did you sleep at all?" The bags under his eyes were clearly visable even from a distance. "Gosh you look terriable."
Sam blew her off. "C'mon," he muttered. "Let's go get our first assignments." He stepped away from the house, heading for the knight's job post. "Whenever we need a new assignment, we'll come here." he explained. "Anything catch your eye?"
Alanna was startled. "I... I thought that we would be trained first. " I... don't know how to be a knight!" She felt herself starting to panic what had she gotten herself into? Putting her hands over her head she started pacing. Trying to stop from completely loosing her nerves.
"Calm down." Sam said, slightly irritated. "There're easy jobs first. The more difficult ones come later." He put his hand on his chin. "How about we do this one?" he suggested, pointing at a training one for new knights. "Didn't even know they had ones like this."
Alanna started to calm down once sthe realized they wern't going to be thrown out onto the front lines. looking at the list she shrugged. "Sure why not? It looks the least dangerous. nice and easy to start right?" She was still shaking but she had herself under control. "Lets do it."
(( Just bumping))
((Sorry, I was literally just about to post.))
Sam nodded. "It's just training and simple missions." he told her. "Like repair around the kingdom and stopping criminals and stuff. But we can practice sparring laterif you'd like." He grabbed the job slate and walked off with Anna. "Looks like just a training session and some repair." he explained. "Easy enough, right?"
((I saw you were answering your RP's so I bumped it so you could find it easier.))
Alanna grinned. "Okay let's do it. Where do we start?" She took the slate from his hands and started looking it over
Sam looked at her curiously. He then gave a light chuckle and answered. "We'll meet a senior knight in an hour for training, and then we'll help repair a building over..." He pointed in the northwest direction. "There."
"Okay well in the mean time what should we do? What would you nromally do to waist an hour?" Alanna handed him the slate back beaming with excitement.
((Waste not waist wow that was a bad mess up))
((Haha it's fine.))
"Um..." Sam mumbled, "What would you like to do? I usually just do boring things like work or walk around town or practice with my sword." he told her. "But there are some great things to do around town." he said with a smile.
"I am up for anything so long as it gets my mind off of being nervous." Alanna said after thinking for a bit. "What do you want to do?"
"Uh.." Sam mumbled. "How about we go shoot my bow?" he suggested. "I finally got one last week." He looked at her. "You ever use a bow?" he asked.
Alanna shook her head. "No, never sounds fun though lets give it a shot." Looking up at him she grinned.
Sam was really taking a liking to his new friend. "Awesome! I left it at the edge of the forest in some shrubs." he told her, walking off to kill time with Alanna.
