"Okay," Cole said, "so, see ya there tonight?"
"Uhh, yea. I'll see you tonight." she said as she turned to walk away to another store, still nibbling on her soft pretzel.
Cole walked out of the mall and drove his car away. He tapped on the steering wheel while he hummed along with a song.
((Feel free to timeskip to the party whenever you wish.))
It was early evening. Mitchee had gone back to her hotel, packed her things and put them into her car after changing clothes and getting ready to see Cole again. Slowly she opened the door to Jake's house and walked in, holding her breath.
Cole stood in the living room holding a cup of punch. As soon as he saw Mitchee walk in he greeted her with a warm smile, "good evening."
Mitchee smiled instantly. "Hey!"
"Your looking nice" Cole complimented Mitchee as he led her to the couch.
"It's not too much is it?" Mitchee asked, moving her eyes to the floor.
"No," Cole encouraged Mitchee, "it's not too much. Never."
"Ok. So, how've you been?" Mitchee asked wanting to change the subject befre things got mushy.
"It's been good." Cole sighed, "some things have been troubling lately but nothing I can't handle. How about you?"
"Well, obviously, I've moved. I'm going to Juilliard. Gonna major in theatre, minor in dance. It's tough but, well, you get used to it after a year or so." Mitchee said with a sigh.
"Mmm," Cole nodded, "I've still to decide what college I'm going to. In the meantime I'm acting at the theater in town."
"They finally reopened the theatre in town? I wish they had it open when we were growning up." she said with a sigh.
Cole laughed, "yeah. But hey, that's what the school plays were for right?"
"Yes, that is true. And oh how we took to the stage back in those days!" She said with a smile, not realizing that she had begun to lean into Cole.
Cole smiled too, "remember our senior year when we were the two leads..." He was slowly being drawn back into the past where nothing was wrong and he nevery had problems...
"Yes, because Phantom of the Opera would not have been a better play for our senior year. You as the phantom and me as Christine. It was perfect. you know, that was the reason i got into Juilliard? they wanted you to come to, but something happened. I'm sure they' still take you if you were to audition. You were the best partner I ever had!" Ally blabbed on and on about How wonderful he was. Her face turned bright red when she realized she was talking about him.
"Mmm" Cole thought aloud, "I know they'll take me... But it's just that I have some unfinished business." I owe it to my family. Was what Cole was going to say.
"What do you mean?" Ally asked.
