Cole went looking around and came back to Hazel's inn and he saw Siarra. He waved to her, "hey! Siarra! Over here!"
Siarra sighed, walking over. "Hey. I almost forgot to say goodbye."
"Yeah," Cole chuckled, "I realized. So, do you want my to walk you out?" He asked. He walked up right to her. Sometime felt a little off, his sixth sense what telling him to watch out. He stopped, something did feel wrong, he realized. Then Hazel's inn blew up and sent Cole flying towards Siarra.
Reflexively, a protective barier shot up around both Siarra and Cole. She yelped, the force still knocking her over. She was scared, really scared. "Cole?!"
Cole was knocked out for a few seconds before he came back to his senses. He shook his head and looked at Siarra with a curious look before adverting his eyes to Hazel inn. Without a moment of hesitation he grabbed Siarra and pulled her, "run!"
Siarra yelped again, stumbling with him. "Oh god..." She said, looking over her shoulder.
Cole didn't look back at Hazel's inn, "hurry up and run!" Cole didn't know what he was doing, why he was running. It was a gut feeling that told him to run.
There were at least half a dozen men on horses that came out of nowhere and were persuing them. "We can't outrun them!" Siarra told Cole.
Cole looked back, "crap." He muttered under his breath. He was already running out of air. Then a bright idea came, "follow me. I know my way around these streets." Cole took a hold of Siarra's hands and turned right into an alleyway. He took a left, followed by a right turn. Soon, it seemed like the men had lost Cole and Siarra, but Cole kept on walking.
Cole was running out of breath when he took Siarra's hands and turned into an alleyway. He kept on turning and navigating through the complex maze of alleys and soon it seemed like the men had lost them, but Cole kept on going on.
Siarra was running out of energy. "Stop..." She panted, breaking from his grip and stopping. She leaned heavily on a wall, panting.
Cole stopped too, he was panting. "hopefully, they lost us." He rested against the wall and took his pulse. "It's too high..."
Siarra muttered something under her breath and cupped her hands, a glowing liquid filling them. "Drink."
Cole looked at Siarra in a confused manner before drinking the liquid. A moment after, he wiped his mouth and felt that his pulse was already going down. He looked at Siarra, "are you...?"
"The Sorceress..." Siarra sighed, turning away. "I'm still getting the hang of things...I just found out really..."
"Oh," Cole whispered in half shock half amazement. Then he recalled some stories about the sorceress. "In history, every sorceress has had a knight protecting her while she casts spells." In a sudden, Cole realized what that inner voice in him had been telling him, what he was meant to be. Cole looked straight into Siarra's eyes, "I will be your knight."
Siarra blushed. "I..." She didn't know what to say, but she knew he was her knight. She knew he was meant to be hers. She nodded weakly. "You're my knight."
Cole smiled, "that I am." But then he remembered his weakness, "except that..."
"What?" Siarra asked. "There is something off about you, so spill."
