Carter reached out and put his hands on her shoulders and turned her ninety degrees to the right. "You'll never find your way out that way. Third passage on the left down that tunnel, then take the first right. The door should be unlocked."
Celia bit her lip. "You...aren't gonna kill me...?"
"No, but don't think for one second that I'm not willing to take a life if I have to." He warned. "No go, before Nate finds you. When you get out, don't stop. Keep running until you can't and find somewhere to hide. Don't try calling anyone until you are far away. They won't get here in time to save you."
Celia nodded and bolted for the door. She went where she was supposed to and burst through the door. She grinned and ran through the fresh air, running down the street like a madwoman.
Carter watched her go before turning and running back the way he came. He heard running in the distance, and the sound was far too light to be his lumbering oaf of a brother, so it must be Nathan.
"Nate!" He yelled. "I think I heard something go south!" Celia had gone east, and there weren't any paths leading that direction from the south passages for quite a ways.
Celia made it to a bus station and was able to find out where she was; two towns over from her house. She fumbled for a payphone and stuck a quarter in, dialing the house.
"Ashford residence." An unfamiliar voice answered.
Celia paled. "Who...who is this... WHERE THE HE.LL IS MY SON?!"
"Mrs. Ashford?" The voice asked, sounding surprised. "Don't worry, Trevor is downstairs. Are you alright?"
Celia sank to the ground, crying. "Is...Is Don there...?"
"Just a minute." The man on the other end said hurredly then, pulling the reciever away from his mouth, yelled. "Donald! I've got Mrs. Ashford on line two!"
There were a couple more shouts from around the house before Wiley took the phone. "Cil," He said quickly, his voice firm but worried. "Where are you? Did they hurt you?"
Celia looked around and cried. "I'm at the bus station in Lincoln... Don, he's hurt... He's dying and it's all my fault... They're taking him on a boat and they're trying to find me... You have to save him Wiley...I can't lose my husband again..."
"Where is he?" He said, scribbling things down on a notepad. "I'll get a squad together."
Celia sobbed. "In a ware house about two miles from the bus station. Don, please hurry...."
"Stay where you are. Don't move unless you absolutely have to." He instructed quickly. "If you do have to run, call me again on my cell, not the house. I'll be right there." Only moments after he hung up, two police cars and an ambulance pulled up near the payphone. Don wasn't there, having gone to find Jack, but two of the officers who had been on the watch roster and two others were there.
Celia nodded and hung up the phine, lifting her tearful eyes to the officers. She sobbed. "Is Trevor safe?"
An officer held a hand down to help her up. "Yes, ma'am, he's fine. He didn't know you were missing. On Don's orders, we just told him you two were trying to catch the badguys." He gave her a reassuring smile, hoping to calm her. "He's spent the entire time telling everyone who will listen that his parents are superheroes."
Celia took his hand and hoisted herself up, crying into his neck and nodding. "Thank you... THank you so much..."
((Sorry I haven't been on, my internet hasn't been this bad in quite a while. It goes off every few minutes.))
The officer held her gently but firmly, comforting her. "Just doing my job." He said, leading her toward the ambulance. "The paramedics want to check you."
Celia coughed and shuddered. "I-I need my medicine... I think i'm going to pass out..."
(It's fine, you couldn't help it. :) )
