((Oh, and any suggestions for their son's name are welcome. :) ))
Jack gritted his teeth before approaching the house. He'd spent three years away...Everything could be different.
Due to the recent attempt on his family's life, there were guards posted at the house. Jack's stomach clenched even tighter when he realized the one out front was his old partner, Wiley. His reluctance to face him clashed with gratitude. He was protecting his wife and son.
Wiley's body language visibly changed, even from the distance. He tensed, and looked as if he wanted to go forward, but then eased, crossing his arms.
This was going to be awkward.
Jack stopped just in front of him, silent.
Wiley's face was stony and cold. "Jack." Jack opened his mouth to reply, but Wiley cut in, his voice laced with anger. "You as.shole. How can you disappear for three-"
Jack cut him off. "Yell at me later, Wiley."
Wiley looked very reluctant to let him pass, but stepped aside anyway.
Jack knocked on the door.
His little boy, Trevor, scampered to the door and opened it a crack. His little eyes widened. "D-daddy?"
Jack took a step back, his heart throbbing with longing to touch him, hold him, pick him up and swing him around like he used to. But he hadn't touched him since before he left for Roberts' house, and had no idea what the curse would do to either of them. When he'd touched Cecillia he'd nearly had a heart attack.
"Hi, Trevor." He said awkwardly.
Trevor began to sob, attaching himself to his leg. "D-daddy..." Cecillia poked around the corner, bags under eyes. "Trevor?"
Jack stiffened, trying hard not to move and expose any skin anywhere Trevor could reach. "Trev, it's okay."
He looked up at the sound of Cecillia's voice, and his own immediately fled. Again.
Celcillia and Trevor both cried out, Cecillia collapsing. "Don't leave me again!" She shouted and sobbed.
((His voice fled, not him. XD))
(*insert explicit word here*) *alternate post*
Cecillia walked over slowly. "J-Jack?" Tears streamed down ehr face.
"Um, hi, Cillia." Jack said, still standing stiffly.
Cillia whimpered and held out a hand for him. "Oh god, Jack."
Jack stepped back abruptly, nearly tripping over Trevor. "Don't-" He cut off, clenching his jaw. It hurt him to tell her to stay away, but he had to.
((g2g do dishes, brb...probably.))
Cillia looked heart broken. "Is...is there another woman? Is that it?"
((Sorry I couldn't get on yesterday, I was working at my neighbors' and then taking care of a wounded chicken and working on their coop.))
Jack shook his head vehemently. "No. There's no one else. There's never been anyone else." Actually, he realized bitterly, There was a woman. But not like that...
Cillia grabbed his hand. "Please tell me."
A spear of white-hot pain shot up Jack's arm like the tentacle of some lurking monster, reaching up to squeeze his brain. He jerked back, stumbling off of the front step and landing on his knees in the path, clutching his arm to his chest.
"Don't," He gasped.
Tears streamed harder. "What's wrong Jack. PLEASE tell me."
"You won't believe me." Jack said, looking away from her eyes, too cowardly too sit there and watch her cry, knowing it was his fault. His arm was buzzing like an electric current had been shot through it, and he flexed his fingers to try and get feeling back into them.
Cillia shrunk back into the house, crying and shaking. "F-fine..."
Jack backed up, feeling terrible. "I'm sorry..." He said sincerely. "You'd think I'm crazy. I love you, and I'm going to fix it."
