Damien nodded. "Not much, but it's home." He told her, leading her up the steps to the door and letting her in.
Zula gulped, feeling absolutely horrible. "Can, um, I lay down please..?" she asked, not even taking time to look around.
Damien led her to his room. "You can lie down here on my bed."
Zula nodded and laid down, near the verge of tears again. "Th-thank you..."
"Call me if you need anything..." Damien whispered.
"You're leaving?" Zula couldn't keep a tear from falling this time.
Damien frowned. "Do you want me to stay Zula?"
Zula shook her head, quickly wiping her tears away. "It's fine. I'm fine. Everything's fine."
Damien sat next to her. "Hey, if you want me to stay, I'll stay."
Zula fiddled with his sleeve. "I'm just... scared that if I get in trouble, and you aren't here..." She didn't want to make him feel bad, so she trailed off with a sigh.
Damien shook his head, sitting closer and pulling her into his lap. "It's okay Zula. I'm here to take care of you. TO make you feel safe."
Zula cried a little into his chest, trying to keep quiet about it. "I want to go home..." she whimpered softly, clutching onto his shirt.
"This is home now Zula..." Damien murmured.
"No..." Zula tried to shake her head against him. "Home has love in it... this is just a house..."
Damien grimaced. "I'll try to make this home for you."
Zula sniffled, trying to stop her useless crying. "Okay..."
Damien kissed her cheek. "Get some rest. It'll make you feel better."
Zula froze, though her crying soon stopped. "W-what was that for..?"
"I...I'm just trying to comfort you..." Damien mumbled.
"I know..." Zula tried a small smile. "It was cute. Weird, but cute."
