"It's alright Cody, this is Huck. He's a friend! He'll help us out. Sorry Huck, she's a little nervous, could you keep your voice down man?" he said politely. Huck replied a little more softly "Yeah, sure. Oh, and I do know a guy. A nice, honest boat trader. He's a little crazy but he'll get you a nice boat at a nice price." They exchanged information and Blue took Cody down the harbor in the direction of the dealer.
(What did she say? XD I can't understand her sometimes)
(("Are we gonna boat somewhere?"))
"Yeah, we will go down to Africa, The central part. We shouldn't get any trouble there. Hopefully, we can stay away from all of this stuff. It's crazy over here." he said, clutching her tightly. He walked up to where Huck said the guy was. The guy looked crazy. He was stumbling about, yelling orders to some of his men. He had grizzly hair and a massive beard. He even had the old cliche hook for a hand. He smiled a toothy grin at them and fumbled his way over. "Hello, how can I be of service to you?" the man asked in an accent Blue didn't recognize.
THe new guy smelled of liquor, Cody cringed at his accent, it was a mix of seaman's and street, she knew that, he sounded like a trader to her he sounded just like the men who would put her up and sell her to the aliens Cody kenw she shouldn't judge this guy just because he sounded similar to people in her past, but she couldnt help it.
"We want to buy a boat. We will pay in cash" he said in as brave a voice he could. He was truthfully kind of scared. This guy was freaky. "Well, we have a fine selection here. Pick anyone you like" he said in the accent he still couldn't recognize. The man led them to a dock area with a large amount of boats. He wasn't expecting this to be truthful. They were good boats, nice quality. His eye crossed one boat. It was white with a blue stripe. It was simple but homey. It was partly covered for when rain came. "This one?" he asked. He rattled off the price which they could afford and still have some money left. "We'll take it" he said quickly. He smiled. He liked the boat. Within a few minutes, the papers were signed and he put Cody in the boat first. Then, he began loading the luggage and the extra money. There was a lot after he negotiated the price down a little bit.
Cody explored the boat, it wasn't big, there was one room with a queen bed, a small dresser and a night table. The room also had a closet. Cody guessed that she would take the dresser since she had less clothes than Blue.
The boat also had a rather small galley kitchen, a livingroom-dining room combo. The living room had a nice couch in it where someone wold have to sleep.
The head, or bathroom was a nice room, rather small but it had everything needed in it. Cody went back out on deck.
Soon all the negotiations and paper work were done. Blue hopped into the boat and took the shiny new key and shoved it in the ignition. He started the boat up and it roared to life. He took them out to sea. The man had been kind enough to give it fully fueled he had seen after checking the meter. He must've just seemed crazy. He was actually pretty cool.
((Wannaa skip a head.))
((Hmmm..maybe to a storm or to whe the land...something like that.))
((A storm would sound fun. Maybe they could crash and land at the Cape of Good Hope whereas they wanted to reach south Africa which was further down. We can figure it out from there?))
They'd been at sea a while, Cody wasn't good at telling how long though. She was standing on deck in her yellow dress and no shoes and no hat, the wind messing with her black curls. Th bruises and scrapes were healing and appetiette grew too. She guessed she'd also grown, she was still thin, but not sckly thin anymore.
Cody saw dark clouds forming, there was probably a storm coming.
Blue saw the clouds and double checked the emergency raft just in case. He never liked storms. This was going to be a bad one he could tell, even without a sailor's eye. He shook his head. They would have to go through it, going around would waste too much fuel. He let out a silent prayer.
Cody gripped the boat rail as the wind picked up even more, rain started whipped her face and bare skin, quickly soaking her dress, she pulled her coat closer around her and zipped it up.
Cody went into the bridge of the boat, where teh steering and navugation stuff was and where Blue was, it was a covered area, which was good, and heated. Cody watched as the boat headed straight into the storm.
He tried to keep far from the rocks, trying not to swerve into the jagged rocks. They were only a few hundred miles away, was this seriously happening now? He struggled to hold the boat against the currents, the wheel threatening to go spinning off into oblivion. He held it tight, holding it in place with difficulty. It was raining hard and lightning and thunder were crashing down every few seconds.
