Is it okay if I do "Thermal-vision" or whatever you call it. Where basically my character can see hot and cold?
Either that or X-Ray vision...not sure how to explain it. It's kinda where the charrie's field of vision is widened and she can see a 3-D layout of her surroundings in her minds eye for a certain radius of meters or miles or whatever.
She of course wouldn't be able to see color...
Not sure if I'm explaining this ability very well, lolz. That's actually two abitlities.
Ah yes, here's how to explain it.
My character wouldn't actually be using her eyes to 'see'. She'd be using her mind. She would be able to 'see' the world around her (up, down, sideways) for a certain limited radius (and maybe if she focused her power she could 'see' farther in one direction). She would intuitively know the composition of all substances, basically the molecular structure. Of course, she might not know what to CALL those different molecular structures, like, she'd be able to tell the difference between oak wood and ceder wood but she wouldn't know what to call them, lolz. She would not be able to see color.
She'd basically be able to see through all objects and know what those objects are made of in a limited spherical radius. You would of course assume this ability takes a lot of concentration, and it does, so she would be in the habit of limiting her sense of 'inner vision' to only a very small radius. I don't know if I should let her see cold, hot, electrical fields or whatever.
Is this power okay?
But then again, I'm thinking she would be able to see color, just not in the way we would imagine. Obviously when light bounces off a object, it absorbs and reflects certain rays due to it's molecular structure. And my character would know that molecular structure...so I guess she can read after all, lolz.
Oh, and I just had another idea: wouldn't it be a good idea to have the RP turn-based, so to speak? Not sure how that would work, though. Just asking because sometimes things tend to get out of order...
Kirk: are you done yet?
Captain Pike: yeah, I'm done.
Doctorbug, I can't speak for Endless, of course, but what we did last time was limit the number of posts by each writer so that no would be left behind. She hasn't actually said it, but I assumed that we'd be doing something similar. Again, can't answer for her, but thought maybe I could save her time if I'm thinking along the right track.
It's ok, I thought of a better one. Well, my charachter will be able to absorb or produce heat but not anything too fancy like making fireballs out of nowhere but could still pass a thermo body detector (I am not quite sure of the word, it's the thing that detects humans from their temperature:P) and, you know, heat things and make them colder. Oh and also, with the right amount of training, he/she (I haven't decided yet) may be able to not be affected by extreme weather of even not get burned. (Is thermo-mancer an accurate name?)
That's actually a large comfort for me, Princess. I do believe my stress level just went down exponentially (which is an oxymoron of a type)...provided Endless will do something like that, of course.
~Posting Limit Rule~
I thought I put this in the rules, but then I had been writing the rules and lost it and had tos tart over, so I may have forgotten.
The idea is that you cannot post more than a certain number of posts in a day. I haven't decided whether to make the limit 2 or 3 posts, or to do it according to characters. Suggestions/votes would be appreciated.
Also, if you post, you MUST wait for two more people to post before you will be allowed to post again. This will keep 1x1 action from becoming a problem. But then again, if I get enough people asking, I might not have this rule.
I mean that by, not always, fighting, but helping. I mean, if he can cause bad luck, that's actually a bit of a problem. It could be too powerful for the RP. But at the same time, if you make it weak, it'll have no use to the team.
I believe the telekinesis is available so no worries. And I did say that we were starting from scratch, but I failed to clarify, I suppose, that you can look at your old characters for inspiration in your new one if you desire.
The power you're describing does seem to be up to standards. I'd only request you to take note that her power does need to be weak until she is trained to perfect it.
Nacho's character had a fire-related ability, and the power you're decribing seems a bit too close. Even if the ability was open, I'm not super fond of it. That was one of the main combat-ready powers, that we really need. If nacho uncalled the power, I'd still request you make tweaks to make it more fire-based, and perhaps now the character couldn't make fire, but with training they would be able to. And fire immunity seems more likely than full-out against extreme weather. Immunity to extreme weather doesn't seem connected enough with the power to be a hand-in-hand.
Regarding the posting limit: I'm gonna vote that there should be a limit on how many posts one of us can make per character. Like, if one of us has more than one character, they'd have to do twice as many posts.
So if I were to say have one character, I would be required to post 1-3 times a day. But if I had two characters, I would be required to post 1-3 times a day (or until everyone else has posted) per character.
Just a thought.
By the way, I think the 1x1 action rule is awesome!
The issue with adding for characters, is that a lot of the time, someone could do both characters in a single post. I have known to do a rule such as two posts per player, and that limit is expanded by one for each additional character after the first.
I was thinking about that. Perhaps it would be best if people with more than one character were required to break their posts up. Like: only one charrie POV per post.
The only thing that bother's me about roleplay, is that you can't really have short snippits of dialogue or banter...oh well. I suppose the excitement of not knowing what the response will be from the other character cancels that out.
I understand what you're talking about, Endless. Doctorbug and I were talking, and she suggested that my character could work both ways, as in affect good and bad luck, but they're tied in to whatever he's feeling. Such as a good mood results in raising the likelihood good events happening.
If this doesn't work, do you have any suggestions?
The issue with only one charrie POV per post is that if you've been gone most the day and you need you make your posts, you would only be able to make one post and then woulf have to wait around for two more posts before you could post again, due to the 1x1 avoidance rule, at which point the oportunit to post for your other character could disappear or generally be ruined.
It's reasonable, indeed. But what I really need isseveral examples of how this power could be helpful to the cause. If it's not having enough effect, might as well throw the ability on a trainer rather than a recruited hero.
Endless, lolz. That's probably why you limited us until further notice to one charrie. Agreed.
I also don't want anyone able to call second genders without knowing what we need to do to even them out.
Wait, what exactly does that mean?
I mean to say, right now, I want to get a general idea of how many guy characters and how many girls we'll have. When second characters come into a possibility, based off the already existing count, I want to know if we need to ask someone to make an extra male, or something of the like.
Aahh, so for right now I can have any gender I want?
Yes. Any gender. There will be no limits to genders in calling the first characters.
