Sorry to hear that Aeliss. I'd rather not take chances with it.

Lol DoctorBug I only just saw that now. I trust Roseatta and the resume you put up was really impressive, better than anything I think I could have given someone.

~RP Requirements (Rules)~

This RP will be loosely literate. That means it does not have to be run through a spell-checker unless you're known for having to correct yourself often after posting to be understood. I'd really like if you'd just try to be as literate as you can. I have dropped my stronger literate days due to no longer having easy access to a spell checker.

There will be absolutely NO one-liners. I want a MINIMUM of three lines PER CHARACTER (that's two full lines and three or more words). If anyone makes a one-liner post I want EVERYONE to ignore that post. A longer post should be made to replace it. Of course, the occasional slip of, say, two lines, won't have to be ignored, but if there is less than one and a half lines there, I'd like a replacement post. Understand?

This RP will be DEDICATED. People are to post at least once dailly. A warning is REQUIRED if you will be gone for more than 24 hours. You must assign someone to powerplay your characters. If you will be gone an extended amount of time, you may request the RP be put on hold.

NO POWER-PLAYING WITHOUT PERMISSION! This isn't just taking over a character.  Even simple things such as assuming the other characters' reactions and writing them is forbidden. Things like 'they all gasped' or 'he nodded' or anything like that, if it's not your character, isn't allowed. Also, NPCs (Non-Player Characters) should usually be avoided from affecting the storyline, unless I'm controlling them or I introduce them/approve of them. Even the characters' families should not play a large role in the story, although them having a minor affect here and there is acceptable. The real issue is that I don't want them to cause any long-term effects. I want us to be focused on our main characters, and the main plot, not the little things of their lives.

You are only permitted to have one character. If you want any more, you must request for another character, and I will approve or deny the request. Or ask to see the character first before making my decission. There will be no making new characters after the RP has started without my permission. You can only have 2 characters at most.

I will need some help playing the trainers, this will be an acception to the rule you can only have 2 characters. A trainer can be a third character. Each trainer will actually be playable by two different players, who agree on their skeleton. This will allow interaction between trainer and hero without one person having to play both. This will also mean that if someone is absent, we can still have the trainer around. Of course, you can specially request a trainer all to yourself. There will be 3-5 trainers.

I will make acceptions to some rules for myself, as I'm the controller of this RP, but in the case of literacy, dedication, and one-liners, someone better be chewing my butt off.

~Plot~

They all started out seeming pretty ordinary, like any other kids. But it was already in their DNA. One day they'd be differnet. Evolved humans, or mutants, are not anything new. They've existed for quite some time, only they were quite very rare. But then, as time went on, they grew more and more common. about 10% of the U.S. population is likely mutant. The last count, by a mutant gifted in detecting other mutants, estimated nearly 31,400,000 mutants in the U.S. alone.

There exists and Organization known as G.H.O.S.T. commonly called Ghost. The name was created to represent the following phrase: Gathering Heroes Organization to Stop Thanatos. Ghost is run by a man named Allen Steel, and funded by the government as a secret organization.

Ghost was formed 20 years ago, and was put into action just one year later. Allen Steel, along with ten other mutants, were banded together as teenagers and brought against a man named Darius Thanatos. Thanatos, taking inspiration from the old cliche, wanted to take over the world with his powers. What were his powers, you ask? He could take away powers from other mutants, and give them to himself. He seemingly had no limitation to his power, although Allen and the others did find certain weaknesses. It wasn't enough though. Five heroes died, some of them losing their powers before then, three lost their powers to Thanatos but survived, and two narrowly escaped with their powers, but were forever damaged, one never to walk, and one slowly dying over the years to an uncurable disease.
The survivors of Thanatos took over Ghost, although for a long time they only watched the world for the rise of a new evil that never came. With no evil, the government wouldn't give them much funding, and they couldn't go looking for new heroes. But then, Thanatos escaped. Funding suddenly came in, and The Heroes Project began. 24 potentials were found, and contacted. How many will actually become involved is yet to be certain, but it is obvious not all of them will accepts.
When the RP starts, everyone who accepted or is going to accept and is still contemplating it, will arrive at the first meeting in the Ghost building. However, here in this thread I'd like to set up a bunch of short 1x1 scenes between each character and whoever is recruiting them, as well as, if you'd like your characters to have met beforehand, those little scenes too. In the beginning post of the actual RP, I will copy and paste all of that before-hand writing in. This, generally, will allow for us to make tweaks and give me a chance to examine each player and their writing to make sure they'll be good for the RP. This will also help us decide if the characters are really acceptable, or if something about them needs to change. It's kind of like a pilot, if you know what that is.
More information on the Heroes Project to be given.

It's really a shame that the remake can't actually be based on the original I was so attached to, but I think I've gotten over that; I've retired my old characters and made a replacement character completely different from them.

I'm really excited about restarting this thread. I read the rules and most of them are my basic implied rules, but I have a few questions about some of them.

1) How many lines must be typed in the Teen Ink text box in order for it to be three lines once posted?

2) Are we supposed to assign someone from the beginning who can PP us if we have to be off, or should we choose someone when the problem arises? Not a big deal, but I thought it was worth asking.

3) Also, you said that NPCs cannot cause long-term effects on the characters and the plot. How exactly are we to avoid this, since minor characters practically always affect the course of main characters' lives? In case this doesn't sound the way I intend it to, I'm not questioning the rule itself, I think I just need it clarified so I know what it is I'm expected to do.

4) Finally, should we be posting anything (character skeletons and such) on this thread, or will you be making a seperate thread for that? I know this one has nothing to do with the RP requirements; I was just wondering.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. It's been a really long day for me. I'll probably check back to see if you've answered tomorrow morning/afternoon.

Princess

1) I'm unaware, but we'll see since I'm using this very answer to find out. It does depend somewhat on the device you are using, since I know it takes more lines on my kindle or phone to make three on TI than it does on my computer. This is about 5 1/2 lines.

2) It may be preferred you assign someone to start with, but you do not absolutely have to until the problem arises.

3) Well, allow me to use an example. Remember that bully you had? Yeah, I don't want things like that. Sure, appearing once or twice was fine. But for him to get that close to the project itself, or to appear that many times and affect scenes, is a little too much. I guess what I'm asking is that no one gets an NPC too involved in the story, or makes them appear too often/much.

4) It'll all be in this thread, since all the planning is here and characters are a part of planning. Unless everyone thinks it's better to make a separate thread for it, but I'd rather not have to keep up with too many threads, since we will be posting the finished character skellies (and their files) in the actual RP itself so we really, in the end, will only have to keep up with the one thread.

Princess, I'm experimenting now and I believe that five full lines in the box will make roughly two and a half on teenink itself. But then that means me writing five whole lines exactly and not a word more in this box, and it's a lot harder than it seems, I'll tell you.

Five lines. And actually that was easy.

Nope, Princess, as long as you have 5 lines or more, you're safe. I think. Experiment on your own device to find out yourself.

~The File~

Every hero will have a file given to them when they are contacted. They will be contacted face-to-face by Allen, his neice Rachel, or his Assistant Sarah. The file will contain the following information. Certain parts will have to be written by you specifically for the character. Please do not fill out the file for you character until the skeleton has been made and aproved of. And please do not make a skeleton until I announce we're ready for them. Anything in parentheses from here forward should not be included in the finished file.

First Name:
Last Name:
Gender: (Male/Female)
Age:
Grade: (Grade number. Highschool or graduated)
Address: ----------------------------- (leave as it is)

Height: (Example 5 feet, 2 inches)
Weight: (Measure in lbs)
Race: (White, African American, Latino, or any other)
Eye Color:
Hair Color:
Hair Length: (Please measure by where the hair falls to on their body, not in measurement of inches etc.)
Hair Type: (Straight, wavy, curly, thick, thin, frizzy, smooth, shaggy, messy, spiked, and/or any cut style.)

Family: (A list of immediate family members and how close the subject is to each.)
Records: (This would be mostly anything that the person has done -misbehaving or criminal- that is noteable. I.e. stole a candy bar, or multiple fights, or anything you think they'd note about the character that's bad.)
Control Notes: (Here, it would be slightly to intimidate the subject by naming true things they could use to control the person, from blackmail to prison threats to whatever they could use you can think of.)

The Heroes Project
For centuries the existance of gifted humans has been a secretly known thing. For 20 long years, an organization has existed to monitor the world of mutants. G.H.O.S.T. was created to take down a mutant that had risen in an attempt to control the world with his power. His name was Thanatos, and he was captured and imprissoned. But now he has escaped.
The original Heroes Project, launched by Ghost, was meant to gather up a number of mutant teens -since the teen years are the best to perfect one's abilities- to come up against Thanatos, and afterward be ready to defeat any other foe to rise. They were succesful, but that team could not remain in the Project due to great loss, and with no enemy rising up, Ghost hadn't the funds to restart the Project.
However, with Thanatos escaped and soon to try again with his plan, it is a necessity to bring up the Project again and once more gather mutants. With the old members of the Project to teach them, our hopes if that they- you- will be able to stop Thanatos for good.
This comes with great risk, but you will be given a large sum of money should you succeed, and should you die in the attempt, your family would recieve the funds to support them comfortably without work for the rest of their lives. If this Project does not succeed, it will truly be the end of the world you know, and a start of world-wide slavery.
You will be required to leave your home and come live in the building, with minimal or no visits to your family or friends. No one is allowed to know of this Project. We will deal with a cover for your family to keep them from knowing. You will be trained to use your ability to its full potential, and trained in all of Thanatos' weaknesses and what to avoid in his strengths.
If is completely your choice. Should you choose to join us, or if you would like to learn more, call the number at the bottom. And should you choose not to participate, you are to effectively dispose of this file, and we will know if you don't and take action against you. You will not be bothered again so long as you do not use your powers against another human being without good reason. And as long as you tell no one about any of this, and your power remains secret from the world.

Please note, this RP will be taking place in the general area of New York City. Of course, I've never been there and don't know a ton about what it's like, but still, that was the original location and I want to keep it.

~Hero Skeleton~

Name: First and Last.

Age: 14-19.

Gender: Male or female.

Appearance: Be descriptive. I want more than three lines on this, and preferrably even more than that. More full sentences rather than a bunch of facts thrown together would be appreciated.

Clothing: This is optional, asking you to describe what they are wearing at the time of the RP start and THEN what kind of clothing they usually wear. This also includes jewelry.

Personality: Please, don't just throw a bunch of adjectives out there. Describe them in a minimum of 50 words yes, their name counts as a word. More than 50 words would be great.

Bio: I'd like a general description of their life, such as what kind of place they live in (apartment, bad part of town, estate, prison, etc.). Also who they live with, if they've moved around a lot. How long they've been in the area.

Mutations: This is optional. There CAN be some physical mutation, but it must be subtle and easily hidden, even from family members. This is NOT their power, however. I would prefer if mutations were on the rare side. Shapeshifting and things such as wings that can emerge from their backs do not count in this area. Things like skin, eye, or hair oddities count.

Abilities: Abilities cannot be too powerful. One ability should be the norm, although hand-in-hands may be acceptable such as invisibiliy feilds and force fields or heightened senses and super strength or a sixth sense.'

Weaknesses: Every ability should have some weakness. I would like a minimum of one, but two or three would be preferred, and they can have more, although too many characters with too many weaknesses wouldn't be too good.

Position: Their position on the project. Are they interested? Not very interested but curious? Already decided to do it? Etc.

Other: Anything else you would like to add, or you can leave this out completely.

~Trainer Skelleton~
Name: First and Last.
Age: If it is a Heroes Project member, they must be between 34 and 41. This would leave them between 14 and 21 when they were recruited. If they are NOT a member, they need to be 23 or older.
Gender: Male or female.
Appearance: Same as Heroes.
(As for clothing, trainers will usually be wearing clothing up to code, so there is no need for clothing section, it's not that important to mention what they're wearing.)
Personality: This does not have to be as detailed. As a matter of a fact it can be as little as 15 words. So long as it gets the general of that character down.
Bio: You can work out whatever bio you want, as long as it's approved. But I do want a little something here.
Mutations: Even those who lost their powers would keep their mutations.
Abilities: Even if they no longer have it, I want it here. Of course, not all trainers not involved with the previous project must have abilities, or even mutations just it couldn't be something that's too helpful if they DO have something.
Weaknesses: Again, even if they don't have it anymore I want it.
Involvement: Either 'Previous Project Member' 'New Trainer' or 'Old Trainer'. A new trainer would have been brought in when the Project was revivedm and an old trainer would have been training the members way back and would need to have to be at least 43 years old.
Other: Optional.

Now then, there will be no posting of characters until I give the Okay. But you can go ahead and call powers (And check that i approve of them). Also, if anyone wants to do a trainer, please let me know.

Here I am now testing the line length to make sure that my future posts are long enough to use. This is the computer I typically use; I'm not sure if the textbox will vary much from computer to computer. Is five lines good enough?

Wow, Endless, this looks fantastic. For an ability, I was thinking of something kind of unique. Could I have a character that acts as a catalyst for bad luck? As in, he subconsciously manipulates events around him, so things just seem to go wrong around him. I don't want to give him any control over this in the beginning, but later on in the roleplay, he can learn to control his effect on his surroundings.

Just a note for everyone
If your character had an ability that would still be accepted from the old one, you have first dibs on that abilitiy, and no one else can have it unless you specifically say you don't want it.

My Characters
I am keeping my old powers.
Allen his persuasion.
Rachel her telepathy.
And Carlos (undergoing a name change and general character change) his fear ability.
I will also have a trainer with an ability yet to be decided. He will be a previous member of the Heroes Project and in a wheel chair.

Roseatta
I feel a little cautious about that power. It means if he messes up he could end up making some very bad things happen. On top of that, I'm not so sure it'll be the right contributant to the team. I'm not saying NO yet, but I'm just not sure about it. I would suggest coming up with an alternative.

Zetoni
No need for things in parentheses, unless it's completely unrelated to the RP planning.
I've already said I think more than once, that the RP will start this summer. A specific date is irrelevant at the moment.
Lastly, I honestly don't see them recruiting someone with JUST heightened senses. There needs to be something to go along with it, To be more helpful.

Princess
Since Roseatta had telekenesis you can't call it until she says she doesn't want it. Also, uncall what you had before?

Hm, okay. Do you mean right contribution to the team as in fighting? Because I have some ideas concerning that. And I was thinking of attaching it mostly to his temperment- so the severity of what happens around him depends on his emotions at the time.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that we could use the same powers. I thought that we were basically going to start from scratch.

My characters had some kind of life-vacuum power (or curse, as Vicki said) and plant manipulation, neither of which I'll be using, so those are both free as long as they're approved by Endless.

Roseatta, is it okay if I take telekinesis, since you didn't really seem to be going in the same direction as your last character? Sorry I tried to steal it; I didn't know that you had first dibs. XP
