Josh sighed. "The real fact of the matter is that even with the slightest of chance of freedom in a week, you're sitting here wallowing in your own emotions and allowing the minutes to tick by until you won't have enough time, even for a miracle. You're so busy worrying about your loss and hurt, you're doing nothing to prevent more of it."
She glared at him and sat up straight. "Get out. I'm going to change and we'll see about your freedom." Her voice was stern, hinted with anger.
Josh grit his teeth. "I don't want it anymore. You know what? Might as well let me die. Forget all about me."
Marley's cheeks flared. "Are you serious? Do you not realize what you're leaving behind. Most of it all, me. You seriously wish to put me through that?"
"It'd be better in the end!" Josh snapped. "There is no happily ever after with me! I'll hurt you more in a lifetime than I would in death!"
She shook her head, angry tears brimming her eyes staring straight at him. "No."
(Meep. It's so sad ;__;)
Josh scowled, looking away. "I'm not fixing it. I'm not doing any more work for the sake of this relationship."
Marley swallowed a sob, instead a shuddered gasp escaping her lips. She closed her eyes, a tear slipping down her cheek. She wanted to drown right there and melt into the water.
"Not until you tell me I'm worth it."
She glared at him sadly. "Josh...I love you, so much," shre begun in a sure cracked tone. "You are worth so many things. You...have done so many people favors. But.. I can't.... I can't do this." She broke down.
Josh swallowed, looking down. He was silent for a while, before he pulled her lips to his. "I'm sorry...I love you...I'm being an idiot..."
She kept crying, shaking her head. "I can't... i can't....," she continued to say against his lips.
Josh pulled back and kissed her forehead. "Marley...Listen to me...please...I'm tired of no one listening to me..."
She stiffled a sigh and nodded, looking up at him. Bubbles covered her from head to toe and the water had begun to get cold, but she hardly noticed in her situation; small goosebumps forming across her skin.
"You need to finish cleaning up and you need to get to work if you have any hopes of keeping them from killing me."
She nodded and looked at the towle.
"Rinse off." Josh mumbled, getting the towel for her.
Sh eshakes taking hte towel and standing up, wrapping it around her shiverin gbody. She moves to the room and opening her drawers for a night gown.
"Marley, it's the middle of the day. You need to get work done."
