Ian grabbed the one thing he thought he could use as a weapon: a thick aluminum baseball bat off the gym coaches desk. "Think this will do?" he asked Ardi.
"If this really is zombies, then I guess that I could help you," Chaz replied. "How many in your party, and what will you need?"
"It will do." Lu said, lunging forward and stabbing a zombie in the skull. She vaguely recognized the zombie as someone from her gym class. That sucked. Lu vowed to kill herself before she turned if she got bit. The coast was clear, at least the only zombie she could see was at the end of the hall, and she wasn't even sure it had seen them yet. Lu took her jacket and wrapped it around her fist. "Stand back." She said, before punching the window in. They were only on the first floor, so she doubted the fall would hurt that much. "After you." She said. "I got this one." Lu waited for the zombie to come closer, as it had heard the glass shattering.
"Thanks Chaz. I knew you could help. I have Ian, from your class, Lu, from my class, and Ardar from 9B. We'll need some guns and ammo." Mitch replied, thinking about supplies. Suddenly, he felt worried. He looked at the wounds on his arms. "I shouldn't have left them." he murmured. "There are too many at the school." He thought about Ian, Lu, and Ardi back fighting zombies and felt a pang of guilt. "We'll need some firepower." Mitch grabbed a pack and put a machete into the side strap. Mitch looked at the gun rack and picked out a .17 rifle with a scope and ramrod magazine. "This'll do." he said. He filled his pack with the bullets for the gun. He saw a Ruger .22 pistol and shoved the barrel into his pocket. "We'll get ready to go, but wait for the others. I'll give them 30 minutes. Then I'm going back." Mitch said, his mind made up.
"You had better hurry up, night is coming on quickly." Chaz said. "I really don't want to be left alone here waiting for a group that might never come, and make sure that you conserve the ammunition. I have a limited supply and I don't want to run out anytime soon."
((Hey guys are you all still in on this? Just wondering.)) Mitch counted the minutes going by. "14... 15... They need to ve here in 5 minutes." he said. Suddenly they heard a distinct knock on the back door and it opened slightly. Evan stepped in, sword over his shoulder, a bit of blood on his cheeck. "Oh, so it was you Mitch." he smiled as he looked at Mitch and Chaz. "Glad to see you're alright."
((I am, I'm just waiting on Charles and DestroyedHeart.))
((Ok, just checking. Thanks))
((If you wish, I could join. I'm thinking of making a slightly different character though...))
((Sure, you can join. What kind of character are you thinking of? Also, if you join, I'll get rid of Evan.))
((With some slight modification, I'm thinking of using my usual zombie apocalypse character as one of the teachers that managed to escape.))
Ian clambered through the glass. As he dropped down, he turned and held his arms out. "Who's next?" Ian called, his arms ready to catch the next escapee.
((ZephyrVon-ZombieOverlord, Go for it!!)
((What happened to DestroyedHeart? Did she get bitten!?!)) Lu looked around, realizing she had lost track of Ardi. "No..." She trailed off, frantically searching the hall. "Ardi!" She hissed, and when she got no answer she said it a little louder. There was still silence other then groaning, and she seemed to have attracted a few nearby zombies. "ARDI!" She shouted one last time, before glancing at Ian on the other side of the window with a crestfallen expression. She stabbed a zombie in the head, her former science teacher, and grabbed Ian's hand, vaulting out of the window and landing on the grass. "I lost her!" Lu said, a little hysterically. The path to the window was now blocked with zombies. Lu was trembling, angry at herself for not paying attention. "Come on, let's get Ed's truck." She said, finally turning away and sprinting for the parking lot.
((I'll post a character tomorrow, as I'm leaving school now...))
((Cool, and ok, sounds interseting.)) Mitch stood up and hefted his rifle. "Ok Chaz," he said solemnly. "I have to go see if they're alright." He locked in a magazine, checked his supplies, and ran out the back door, wielding his baseball bat. Evan sighed. "I should probably follow..." He said nonchalantly. "You want me to stay? They're getting pretty grouped in this area." He stared after Mitch. "He'll be fine." Evan muttered. Zombies pounded on the door and Evan slowly drew his katana.
Mitch ran down the street, smashing moaning, gorey bags of flesh out of his way. The bat was stained with blood and had a dent in it. He ran through torn up road, crashed cars, fire, and debris. Got to get to them before it's too late. He thought. Just then, he tripped, slid and was soon surrounded by the live corpses. Suddenly, he saw headlights.
(( Bump!!! ))
Lu unlocked Ed's car and jumped into the driver's seat, turning over the engine. Lu was silent as she pulled out of the parking lot and started driving down the road. She turned on the radio and started to fiddle with it, not liking what she was hearing. "...Outbreak spreads to the Americas and Europe... No cure... Advising people to stay indoors and stockpile supplies... Bombing of Beijing and Moscow, trying to isolate the disease..."
"We're screwed." Lu finally said to Ian. "There's a pistol in the glove department. Colt .357. If you can shoot that is. Otherwise just give it to someone who can." There was no need to waste bullets. Lu was nearing the sporting store when there was a gap in the dead bodies surrounding them. It was a living person! Lu slammed on the brakes, the truck screeched to a halt. "Mitch! What are you doin? Get in the car!" She shouts, yanking the pistol out of the glove department and pulling back the slide. She fired a few rounds into the horde of zombies to make a clear path for Mitch.
Hearing an engine Chaz raced to the front of the store. "I hope those are the friends Mitch was looking for."
Mitch sprang up, pulling the Ruger out of his pocket. He dashed to the truck, firing only at point blank to guarantee a kill (pistols weren't the most accurate weapons). "Thanks Lu, I was just coming back to look for you guys. I know it was stupid and illogical, but I couldn't stand deserting you guys... I'm sorry." he said while climbing into the truck. The engine revved and Lu ran down the zombies in their path. When they were a little away from sport shop, they jumped out and ran around back. Chaz let them in and they all sat, out of breath. ((Again, are you guys good with Evan?))
